  1. i was honest, and also supported castro and had pellegina do so as well, and he survived just fine.
  2. three sentences in and i can't take this review seriously at all from then on. *sigh*
  3. Well, that and five years isn't a short span of time. Eder's been working as a mayor/kind of drifting, Pallegina was either stuck as a drifter or doing palace duty, and Aloth was traveling far and wide. I like to think that they all get those top level skills because they're at peak performance with the Watcher and boosted by their soul. Without that, well, they lose the edge. that's basically what i headcanonned.
  4. i have to admit, after a few of those fampyr fights i was still fairly mad, even in victory. so a few of those islands have particularly uncivilized names in reference to them, names that i'd likely be banned for posting... for instance i chuckle every time i pass the "gods ****ed ****ing **** island". i'll let you use your imagination to fill in the blanks.
  5. i haven't really had any trouble keeping my wolf or maia's hawk alive. guess you just have to pay attention to their health, and perhaps maneuver them carefully. for instance i usually use my ranger to snipe wizards/chanters/ciphers and i use my pet to distract them, making it difficult for them to cast, so my ranger can off em more easily. usually it just takes careful positioning, and timing, and a bit of stealth too.
  6. i just wish there was some kind of post game expansion content, like in the first dragon age, the awaking dlc for instance. i really created some chaos in deadfire with my first and second playthroughs, and it looks like it would be a lot of fun to dip my toes in it for a bit.
  7. might have had something to do with her soul already being anchored to the adra chair? that's all i got.
  8. all i can figure is they needed her for the connection between the two of you... so you can command your ship from afar, like before with your now defunct keep. though it would be nice if she had more content for sure. even if it's just status reports or something.
  9. That's because they are boaring.......I'll let myself out. if they'd just give it wings, a mini-gun, and anti-tank missiles then it might be a different story.
  10. their dominate ability also seems to be able to resist aegis of loyalty too. made my paladins noticeably less useful. and in the cases where it successfully counters dominate, they usually seem to be instantly re-dominated.
  11. thanx... now i'm craving an airship. *sigh* hope you're happy now. lol
  12. you don't have to side with a faction to finish the game. i just fully outfitted my ship and went all by my loathsome self (well, just me and my crew at any rate).
  13. And the only correct solution of this problem can and must come from inside of the Huana nation itself, regardless of how long it takes. Nobody can -- and should -- "fix" it for them, because it would only make things worse. RDC's, Vailia's, Principi's hearts do not bleed for the Roparu -- the Roparu is just an excuse for imperialistic greed; the three powers do not give a sh†t about them, as they're not there to fix the social injustice; they're just here for that sweet, sweet Adra/ land/ looting and pillaging. while that is true, i don't think they have the morale high ground here. just because they happen to live there doesn't mean they're in the right. fascists living in their own territory doesn't negate the fact they are still fascists.
  14. i'd like to see some higher tier clothing items, like the frock coat mentioned earlier. however, i don't think it should stop there, as there are so many aesthetically interesting clothing selections in game, if their armor ratings were comparable to the higher tier robes a few of my hirelings would have gotten them, instead of the bland armor or robes they did get.
  15. i felt the wolf's capabilities fit my character best. called him ifrit.
  16. from my perspective i see the mataru as corrupt, greedy, oppressive fascists. or are you forgetting the guards crushing the roparu under their boots in neketaka, while starving them to death at the same time?
  17. According to google translate it's filipino for "partner." If theres a connection I dont see it. The name is Filipino but the weapon is Aztec in design, and the cultures of the game are kinda Maori. thought the sword was samoan in origin? well, anyway... my 2 playthroughs first i boarded and got it, then second go, i sunk her... still got it. so, i'm two for two. does that just mean i'm lucky?
  18. I also want to go alone, but seeing without any faction take control Deadfire will throw into total chaos, I have to choose lesser evil who will bring benefit to Deadfire. in this situation who's to say chaos wouldn't be the lesser evil? and besides, from the ending slides being somewhat mercenary looks like a whole lot of fun in that particular post game world. hel, think i'd like one of the deadfire expansions to do just that, and let us play around in the aftermath we created.
  19. i haven't chimed in on this particular thread yet... so i figure now's a good time. my approach to deadfire thus far has been... help the various factions in equal measure. taking care to not attack the various factions directly. maintaining the status quo, and getting paychecks from just about everywhere. and managed to spoil the VTC's slave trade ambitions without impacting the vtc arc (still got a minor positive from them for that bit, btw). then at the endgame saying politely ****off to the various superpowers about the archipelago, as i doubt any of those idiots could be trusted with such a prize. i mean the lot of em basically stated if we can't have our prize screw all souls everywhere. i wouldn't want any of those selfish, greedy, dangerously shortsighted bastards anywhere near there. can any of you honestly say otherwise?
  20. first, during the quest Final Voyage, when arriving at the island... instead of going to the tavern first, i traversed the path towards the keep at the top of the island, killed everything up to the final boss, then killed said boss, shattered the orb, and finally made my way to the tavern, the antelope's crew is nowhere to be found, and having completed the parallel quest clearing out the island beforehand, i can't seem to complete the final voyage quest itself, as it's still stuck in find the remains of the antelope, it's crew, or their attackers. how to duplicate this bug... i'd guess clearing out the hostiles and destroying the magical orb, or whatever, before going to the tavern and doing the quest proper. though, couldn't say for sure. and the savefile is too big to upload... sigh. well, bug number two... somehow in serpents crown the named npcs in the exterior area seem to be stuck in an indefinite night cycle or are simply missing. meaning all the named npc with the exception of the pet merchant are missing at all hours of the day. leaving a few of my quest hanging. now, as far as i can tell, the interiors are unaffected. now, how to duplicate that... i actually have no idea enclosed should be a save in serpents crown, and in the undead tavern. hope they help. https://www.dropbox.com/s/wi97j5vfdzprtt8/Pillars%20of%20Eternity%20II%20saves.zip?dl=0 savefiles are too big so i'm using dropbox... hope they're the right files, hard to tell in that jumble of a save folder some times.
  21. does anyone have a few male & female fire godlike with metal faces? i couldn't find them in the previous threads.
  22. can't argue with that. both my playthroughs i've kept her soul in the sword, as that was her request as best as i could recall. just wish she didn't get all quiet after her quest is done.
  23. also, i've found pushing full sails instead of holding seems to increase accuracy almost as well as holding, without making you a sitting duck.
