  1. The Beyond is where the Gods live and 'unhoused' souls reside Was that explictly said by the devs? Also, if it's the realm where the Gods live, then I'd expect there to be different areas which reflect the particular dietys portfolio of things that they represent or are aspects of. What we see in the video looks almost positively non-eucilidean, but chaos isn't really one of Waels attributes. Could be a sort of lobby or hub between the different gods domains. And I guess 'unhoused' souls are just those who are in 'the wheel', but haven't moved onwards yet? Or souls that have reached nirvana? There have been some dev posts and references to it in game and in abilities I believe, it's definitely in the guidebook. It may be meant to be something believed to be true that actually isn't. 'Housed' souls are ones in a body or object, so technically not all the souls in the Beyond.

  3. The thing that makes the White March feel weird from a narrative standpoint is how far away it is. Investigating a Leaden Key lead makes sense after Never Far From the Queen, but it a lot further away that the other leads given. Mechanically it only takes one day to get there, but the way it's talked about it game suggests it's further away that that.
  4. I don't know why but having 'continue' in the same place as the dialogue options looks weird to me.
  5. There are apparently no plans to release Pillars 2 on console. https://jesawyer.tumblr.com/post/162089614411/wtf-poe-on-console-deadfire-is-a-pc-exclusive#notes
  6. It's an option you could use to make certain encounters easier and it's a shame it's gone. But you won't need to carry around weak flaming weapons in order to defeat an enemy that's weak to fire damage. The changes to the enchanting system shouldn't make it so that the game is ridiculously diffficult if you don't.
  7. I get why they don't want you to be able to use a weapon from the beginning of the game to the end but I don't see why you can't be allowed to enchant every weapon with dragon slaying or flaming or whatever if that's your thing.
  8. Wait- does soulbound item refer to it binding with the users soul or having a soul bound to it? Is it both?
  9. It's an option that's gone but it's hardly necessary to defeat certain enemies. Using the wrong elemental damage should not be making any encounter too difficult. I didn't change enchantments for certain enemies and I doubt that many people did too.
  10. Has it actually been said for certain that there's only one weapon with dragon slaying or whatever in the game?
  11. Completionism has a few variables though. There will be people who decide they're going to do everything they're not locked out of and possibly a few people who decide to only do the main quest. Most people will likely not know. It will all depend on role playing reasons, how fun they find the side content, how difficult they find it, if they get bored, whether they find it in the first place ,etc. as to if they'll do all or little of the optional content.
  12. Another very minor change is that the animal companion portrait appears to now have a square frame and be on the left side of the character portrait.
  13. To be fair returning companions are always gonna cause some weirdness. With the new relationship system you're gonna have companions who happily traveled with you in the first game suddenly have problems with you acting exactly the same as you did last time.
  14. The Guidebook says it has a polar section. It's been called an Iceland allegory by some devs.
  15. None of the companions are at Caed Nua. Aloth and Pallegina are met in the Deadfire and Edér joins up with the Watcher after Eothas smashes up the keep. So what isn't explained is why they're a lower level. http://www.mmorpg.com/pillars-of-eternity/interviews/pillars-of-eternity-ii-deadfire-returning-companions-and-continuing-saves-1000011515 https://jesawyer.tumblr.com/post/156540200006/hi-josh-as-we-already-know-at-the-beginning-of#notes
  16. Josh answered a question on his tumblr a while ago saying they won't provide an explanation.
  17. I made this attempt a couple of months ago according to the various sources: https://forums.obsidian.net/uploads/monthly_02_2017/post-52304-0-45324700-1486033731.png Only problem with the Living Lands being at the pole is that it's described as having both deserts and jungles (next to each other even, which isn't implausible because rainshadow deserts). The way it's described, the Living Lands sound like Papua-New Guniea dialed up to 11 with fjords and etc. See... the world of Eothas is so incredible, but I don't even bother remember stuff like this because I have no context for anything. Like seriously. My best friend used to get lost in WoW of all things, even when he had the maps, the compass, and mods galore to direct him. He'd be unable to keep track of due north irl. While I have total spatial awareness... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igSv9d50fYM Yet... YET, I am totally for a loss with this game. The Living Lands is meant to be at the pole. It's meant to be a large island so maybe the frozen parts aren't next to the deserts? I think it's real world allegory is Iceland.
  18. I don't think Ydwin was designed to appeal to anime fans and I personally don't find her to be that anime. Admittedly I've seen very little anime. Is there really a problem with pointing out the similarities though?
  19. I think the association is meant to be less 'barbarian starts full of rage and gets less angry as he uses his abilities' and more 'a level 10 barbarian can get more power from their rage than a level one barbarian'.
  20. It looks like Eder is holding Maia by the scruff of the neck there! Its always Eder it seems...I personally can't unsee it as Eder holding Maia's ponytail.
  21. True, but that also restricts offering magical alternatives to Might checks.
  22. Well technically, if we're going lorewise, fighters, rogues etc. can cast spells.
  23. To be fair as soon as you start including magic in conversation checks it does get a little weird. I mean, why can't a Level 1 Might 3 wizard or druid intimidate anyone? They can still summon fire, lightning and the like to their hands.
