For Bekarna, focus is really important. Ignore the high hp, high deflection enemies. There's multiple enemies with 60-75 deflection that have low hp. They are the ones debuffing you and buffing their allies and dealing damage to you. Kill them first and the battle can be surprisingly easy. I wouldn't try it before level 14.

Gorecci Street is easier with just 2 people as long as your MC is a Cipher. It is how I always play it. This allows you to level up after killing Ilari. Takes a few tries because RNG crits and you're down. Enter from the south, stealth towards Ilari. Kill him and hit level 4. Then do the rest and let them come to you while Eder soaks up damage. It's by no means easy. I have never been able to do it like this with a char that can only do melee. They are simply stronger. For me the hardest fight was the vampire fight on splintered reef if you do not create the distraction. There's just so many enemies and they hit hard and take a long time to take down. Even at level 20 they can faceroll you. Especially if your team isn't optimized.

degnos satchel
AeonsLegend replied to Archaven's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I think you need to open it for this option to be available. Don't know the requirements. -
I never said devoted bonuses affects spells, i said "as you know, main thing for ascendant; extending ascended phase and minimalizing weapon damage phase" and devoted works very well with ascendant for shortening weapon phase. My pure Ascendant spends like 1 to 3 seconds per battle in "weapon" stage. Once you get Kitchen stove you don't need anything else. Unless you're fighting a single target enemy with tons of armor, but even then I found it's not really an issue. The issue for me with multiclassing ascendant is that it takes forever for it to become strong. You'll be spending most of the game fighting with weapons to be effective until you get to that tipping point where spell damage is better.

Useful loading times?
AeonsLegend replied to Piero's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Texts are fine, but having an interactive loading screen is counter intuitive. And imagine the amount of people that will complain? I mean look at the loading screen niftiness Bioware pulled with Mass Effect. I kind of enjoyed the elevators and your party members bantering or just listening to the news cast. But damn, all hell rained down on that. People just wanted a still screen because they felt that it impacted loading times too much. Well it might have added 1 second of loading or something. That's the thing though. I feel that they should do their best to reduce loading times significantly so it isn't bothersome. If they do and it takes like 30 seconds or more to load then I'm ok with interactive loading screens. -
It is a melee attack, because the raw damage is added to the rest of the attack. Although the game may have scripted it to count as a spell. Which it also is.

The devoted bonusses only count for the weapon you choose, not for Cipher spells. I don't understand the wish to combine a melee and a caster class together and then say it works. I wouldn't go for ascendant and any melee build whatsoever. If you play ascendant you'll want to max dexterity, perception and intelligence. Everything else, save might can be skipped. Ascendant has less damage on melee abilities until ascended. And then you have unlimited casts, then why stay melee? It makes no sense to me to go this route. Soulblade/tricktster is much better if you want to have single target melee damage.

Them Legacy!
AeonsLegend replied to E.RedMark's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I requested choice information from the legacy you can create yourselves, but no one picked them up. So when you create a background legacy and leave the game for a bit you're going to have to recreate it to know what choices were in there or keep an excel sheet with more detailed information. I think they didn't expect people to use it this often. -
Useful loading times?
AeonsLegend replied to Piero's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Did you play Pillars? Yep and the loading times are fine for me. Not enough time to browse through other information. Imagine wanting to go from location to location quickly and the loading times were even longer because someone thought it'd be a good idea to make the loading screens interactive. -
Useful loading times?
AeonsLegend replied to Piero's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
This all depends on how long the loading times are going to be. If it's like under 10 seconds then I don't care what they do with the loading screen. I'd rather have them not put anything there to speed it up rather than to cater to some dude with a potato computer. -
PC Config ?
AeonsLegend replied to Nefiklyd's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Wait there are people that upgrade their rig "before" buying a game that "might" need it? Oh boy. Edit: just to confirm. All UE4 games run great at max 1080p settings on my system with a "veeeerrrryyyyy old" 980. don't listen to people that get new cards "just because". -
It's not reasonable if it is the same character twice in a row. Like I said if you want to reset again, then enter a new character. The major issue with not resetting is that Obsidian never created a levelling system that was able to scale beyond the game they made in PoE1. And now with PoE2 they did exactly the same thing. Even the expansions give no extra levels or growth for your character. If we go to PoE3 we'd need to reset the character again. It's boring. Just go with a new character and have us experience something completely new. Having to follow the watcher again is not new, it's not surprising. The Watcher had impact on the story in PoE. In PoE2 The Watcher has like 0 impact on the story. Being a Watcher has no impact on the story either. It's only there so people can recognize you. It turned into a gimmick. So like I said, give us a new protagonist that I can actually feel invested in.
