Is Aloth Nigh Impossible To Please?
AeonsLegend replied to Stardusk78's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)Well you can always save and retry. Right now i feel there's more options he agrees with than before. He doesn't like tomfoolery. So anything that has the joke clever or whatever is a no go for him in most cases. He likes to be serious and devoted to his cause and appreciates those that are as well. If you pick the benevolent options then there are many cases now where he gains approval. Also the Passionate disposition is something that he enjoys if it's dutiful. So answers that have you stay on your course and focus your goal. He dislikes shady and dishonesty as well as cruel.

How well can a SC wizard Tank?
Maybe I'll give it a swing again later. But I never used the ability afterwards. Thought it was bugged.

How well can a SC wizard Tank?
I tried cloak of death a while back and it didn't do anything. I was being attacked at level 20 by two level 2 beatles and they just hit me over and over without anything happening.

How to find out which choices you made from an active playthrough?
AeonsLegend replied to AeonsLegend's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)That's very good to hear that you're going to play a religious zealout. But do you have anything to add on the topic?

Single handed Shattered-Pillar advice
I definitely got 2 wounds at 42 damage, so I'd wager it's 20 to generate a wound.

Single handed Shattered-Pillar advice
The only downside is that the rapier has only piercing damage. That's not a good damage type and will be hard to get overpen with. Many enemies are also immune to piercing damage (skeleton type enemies for instance)

How to find out which choices you made from an active playthrough?
So I have like a bazzilion playthroughs. Some of which I would like to complete. Others I got bored of. Now when picking up a game that I started a few months or longer ago I have no idea what choices I made and which god I pledged to in PoE. Is there a way that I can find out my chars background in an active playthrough so I can RP the character correctly? Probably have to hack the game or some such.

Single handed Shattered-Pillar advice
I had lesser wounds so I think it gives 2 wounds at 40 damage. But yea it's safe to say the extra hit doesn't give wounds. I have no way of testing it. I don't remember it that way though.

Single handed Shattered-Pillar advice
Just did some testing and even though its impossible to say for sure I think it's safe to say it doesn't generate extra wounds on the second attack. The second attack is included into the first attack and wound generation is after all attacks are finished. The second attack appears to be an add on to the primary attack and not a separate auto attack as I first thought. My test char was dealing around 30-50 damage and on both the crit and the extra attack and normal attacks I saw a wound generation of +2 max. More damage will of course generate more wounds. but I didn't see +3 wounds on the crit attacks. This suggests that there is no wound generation on the extra hits from Swift Flurry.

Single handed Shattered-Pillar advice
It's hard to test with Shattered pillar since a crit will very likely fill up your wounds to max already... So if you're asking if I'm 100% sure, then no. Have any suggestions as to how to test this? The second attack is instant after the first crit. So I have no way of telling which attack generated the wounds. Don't think the console tells you when you gain wounds.

Patch 5.0 Changes to the Guardian
Yes, this one: https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Guardian_of_Ukaizo But like I said perhaps if you leave his soul in tact he will do more for you? I never tried that route. The wikis don't say anything about Scyorielaphas killing the Guardian though.

Single handed Shattered-Pillar advice
They trigger another auto attack which in turn can generate wounds if you play shattered pillar. So yes.

Patch 5.0 Changes to the Guardian
I do that every time and all he does is help you get through the storm and fight the fleet if I recall correctly. He doesn't kill the boss that's for sure. Maybe if you leave his essence 100% and not syphen something for the watershapers?

Patch 5.0 Changes to the Guardian
Ok after rereading the comments here it seems the guardian becomes stronger after defeating the megabosses. That does make sense. 👍

Patch 5.0 Changes to the Guardian
So wait, let me get this straight. The final boss of the game becomes many times tougher if you choose to skip the optional superbosses that were added as a gimmick? That makes NO sense! Sure the final boss is not hard at level 20. But adding 5K HP, 36 accuracy and defenses and an extra 4 pen makes a huge difference.

Single handed Shattered-Pillar advice
5.0 makes enemies during Skyward kick untargettable... Swift Flurry and Heartbeat Drumming both grant extra attacks on target when you crit. Each attack is calculated as a new attack, so in theory you could have your character critting indefinitely. Having both just increases the chance. If it works the same way as crit stacking then it's not 25% + 33%, but less than the sum. Probably something like 50% chance or so. If you use skyward kick then I think patch 5.0 makes it so you cannot trigger additional attacks with Swift Flurry and Heartbeat Drumming. I haven't tested this so I'm not sure. Don't forget to add Ring of Prosperity's Fortune to your build to increase crit chance (+15% max crit chance). And make sure to take Dance of Death as well to increase accuracy (Max +12 acc). As the added lash from turning wheel is multicaplicit it is worth taking it. It's not +10% damage of the base attack. It's 10% from the total damage value. So it also increases when critting. Wounds are used either to increase your int and damage from turning wheel (passive) so buff up before spending wounds as your int will lower when you do. You can then spend wounds on other buffs such as Thunderous Blows (gives tenacious passive!) or actives to damage/cc your enemies. If you play Shattered Pillar and use Dance of Death then you will almost always be at max wounds anyway.

Which combat style do you prefer in PoEII?
I had to look up what RTwP means... 😅 Real Time with Pause. Got it.

Cipher shooty-person build advice, v5.0
Yea Blunderbuss Ascendant is very strong. You could multi it with Ranger or anything that allows your Cipher to gain Focus faster. I like pure Ascendant better because it just levels Cipher much faster. But if your goal is to just shoot stuff and not use Cipher abilities that much then Ascendant may not be your go-to subclass.
