Lol, I didn't even know about that. That's interesting. Well I wouldn't use that trick as I have Unity Console so you can basically do whatever you want. But I hardly ever add items I couldn't have otherwise. I mean some items DO come late. I managed to grab Magran's Favor at level 12, but it wasn't easy.

crash Game Crashes a lot
AeonsLegend replied to Phil J Howson's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Ah yes, it is a bit slow to start Have fun! -
Valian side with Crookspur sidequest is also a nono for Tekehu. Eder, Serafen and Tekehu don't really mix with Aloth in terms of personality. Aloth doesn't like irresponsible behaviour which the others do advocate. Aloth is closest in sync with Maia out of all party members. Eder, Serafen and Tekehu are good together, but having Tekehu basically pushes you to go with either Huana or Principi.

Don't think you need the patch for Aloth anymore. The last few Obsidian patches fixed companion interaction considerably. I've never used any mods for this game. Most classes are beyond busted already. What I feel is mostly missing from the community patch is the fact that Fire Godlike still have less fire resistance than Pale Elves. And their HAIR IS ON FRIKKING FIRE! I mean giving them fire immunity would be too OP, but would be in character. I think lowering Pale Elf fire and ice resist to 2 and increasing Fire Godlike fire resist to 5 would be good.

This may help: There's no support for this game anymore so you're best off searching for solution rather than asking for some. -
You have to select the attack icon manually as charmed enemies are under your control. You can target them with abilities specifically.

But they are not alive. They are already dead. They normally go through the wheel and have their memories wiped. They are now part of another soul. Mine. I don't see the difference between absorbing them and putting them in a new body. I kind of found the +1 Might and +5% HP lackluster when comparing the amount of sould you absorb.

You make a good point. Well then I'd rather have Eder be the Ranger over Maia. At any rate there's no rule to having multiple Rangers available so you could still do both. It's more that the limited amount of companions that are available make it seem redundant. Baldur's Gate games had many the same type of classes available and that's what made it fun. So you could take your pick.

Wow interesting. I think it fits his character perfectly. What doesn't fit him is rogue at all. No I don't see him as a dedicated ranger either, but as an option for multiclass with fighter makes a lot of sense. Given the comments he gave during POE1. But I guess that people will always be stuck to what they know. Ah well. I'm sure that if Obsidian changed him into a Ranger most people would have stuck with that and called it natural.

I didn't play the DLC's with my first PT. I'm sure it would have been very very difficult. I loaded up the old save and was wondering how I ever got through some of the encounters. It being normal mode might have something to do with it. Thing is you can't balance a game around multiple difficulty settings and end up with a perfectly balanced game. The game requires you to have in depth knowledge of the mechanics to make the most out of it. I think the DLC are more difficult than the base game, which imo is fine. but we're just making assumptions. If we don't know the OPs party composition, abilities, stats and equipment we can't really help in making a correct judgement call on why the game would be difficult. I can give you a crap party with crap equipment and make even you struggle on normal mode Boeoer. Well at least a little

I don't know. Someone brought up stingy rewards and then someone else started talking about good vs evil and Obsidians take on how this makes people feel. Which in my opinion is all based on the luxurious position we're all in. Benevolence or being good being a reward on its own works best if you have everything you need. Corona crisis will take that away from many countries so we'll see how long this benevolence lasts. My guess is that it won't be long before people start killing eachother to get what they want.
-
True it makes it more difficult. That was my point. But that is not balancing Boeroer. Balancing means how things affect eachother as a whole. If you balance the game around a single difficulty setting then it is likely you unbalance it for lower difficulty settings. POE2 has built it around complexity, but complexity doesn't disappear when you just start the game and play it on easy.

I think the corona crisis will test just how far Josh' gullible statement can go. Trust, me it won't be far. At any rate with regards to role playing, since there's really no pros or cons in Deadfire to playing something "evil" or "good" it's basically all upto the player if he/she wants to implement it as part of their character. I never viewed the absorption of the souls through the Engwythan machine as evil. Sure the sacrifice of a companion is evil, but there's no repercussions to it if you do this in any shape or form. Like none of the party members question you about this. That would be the minimum I would expect, plus it would be an incredible way to deal with it in terms of RPing. POE decides that when you leave companions at the tavern that they will be forever oblivious to what happened. I also dislike the reputation system in this, but also other games. Somehow when I kill a person with no one around to see it, it lowers my reputation. HOW does anyone know I did this?

Versions?
AeonsLegend replied to Hawke64's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Can't roll back, but you may be able to find a different version somewhere online. Or you can add the hull through the console. -> unityconsole can do this very easily.
