Yeah, I wasn't really looking for a xploit, more understanding the craziness that is OBS logic It is a little tricky deciding on what basis to track and reward Legendary progress without it being at least mildly exploitable, but IMO the current method isn't sufficiently robust given the state of the code. Not only that, but there's a complete lack of documentation on how the UI works for all this stuff. Sure, the game includes a "rulebook", but the UI isn't great and the whole party management model is unintuitive (with unexpected consequences for Party deletion)

Are you saying that Heroic/Legendary progression is per party whereas Normal progression is per character? How does that square with the highest level of completion for a party being defined by the most advanced character in the party? (Or is that only for Normal level progression?) What happens if you change the membership of a party over a couple of Scenarios so that none of the original party members are in the party? Do you maintain the Heroic/Legendary progression. If you do (actually, even if you don't) this is a terrible implementation - especially as OBS-created situations can cause players to lose their party, and therefore start Heroic/Legendary from the beginning of the first incomplete AP) I know that I lost my parties during the Kyra Exorcist Heal debacle and had to start AP4 Heroic/Legendary from scratch.

Device: BlueStacks emulator OS: Android 5.1 PACG build: 1.1.4.3 Pass & Play: OFF Permadeath: OFF Mode: Tutorial/Story/Quest Party Members: Sajan, Ezren, Seelah, Merisiel, Kyra, Valeros Turn Order: per party Scenario: 4.5 Difficulty: Heroic Wildcards: not sure Location: Thassilonian Library Trigger: Hill Giant Runeslave/Close Location Apart from Merisiel, who has stayed elsewhere to try to Draw some Blessings, the whole party were at the Thassalonian Library with Mokmurian cornered there and the Blessing Deck on 1; it was Kyra's turn. She used Augury to locate the Hill Giant Runeslave and then defeated him and Banished a Web Spell that she'd brought for the purpose from the other Library. Imagine my horror when - instead of closing the Location normally, the HGR did its undefeated animation and was shuffled back into the deck along with Mokmurian!!! Note that there were 5 or 6 cards in the location deck on Kyra's turn and that the location closed normally, with the exception of the HGR being shuffled back in with Mokmurian. Fortunately, Valeros was able to defeat Mokmurian (though every Henchman had been defeated, so Mokmurian was at +5 and even though we discarded Mokmurian's Club, played a Blessing of Gorum, a Swipe and a Blessing of Pharasma the result was only 30, just 1 more than needed - man, do my die rolls favour 1s - especially Ezren's Spell Recharge rolls!) tl;dr Hill Giant Runeslave shuffled into Location deck when defeated in Thassalonian Library with Villain

Is the Haste spell broken?

severe bug
mccrispy replied to NSY's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Have you tried a VRT (Vault Round-Trip) it often fixes this sort of problem. (No guarantees, just a lot of experience fixing issues where the game seems to be confused about what it should be doing/allowing me to do) -
Is the Haste spell broken?
mccrispy replied to Jaesun's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
My Ezren build uses Haste (mainly for the Explore as it helps boost his "pull-through"), so I use it pretty much every scenario. I hadn't noticed a problem with it. When are you playing the card? I ask because its behaviour is slightly different based on which phase you are in (on the buttons at the top right of the screen). Which character(s) are using Haste? Do you notice any differences due to Character/Location/Scenario/Difficulty/Wildcards? -
Victory screen bug with Ezren
mccrispy replied to Demoniorobot's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
This has been reported elsewhere in the forum - though not necessarily with Ezren. It appears that if you complete the Scenarios out of sequence and two Scenarios award Feats then you will miss out on one of the Feats when you go back and complete in sequence. The Devs know about the issue, there was some discussion of a tool to fix the problem (like we had for missed Feats in Quest mode). Hopefully somebody from OBS will spot this post and help you out, though I fear that OBS response rates to posts seem to have fallen to an all time low. -
[1.1.4.3] experienced this bug when Ezren used Scrying out of turn to Scry a location that neither he nor the on-turn character (Seelah) were at. He found a Henchman (the Kobold), Hill Giant and a Boon and when he'd finished it was his turn instead of Seelah's. So I took Ezren's turn - bizarrely, this was an Encounter with a Hill Giant - which *really* threw me as I though that it was on the Location that he Scried!!!

Then up pops the prompt to Bury a card.

Selecting dice
mccrispy replied to Foolish_Dog's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
My approach is to assign dice to characters so that there is no duplication. Why would I want duplication anyway? The point is that each character uses a unique dice skin so that "their" dice are recognisably "theirs". Of course the way that the current implementation is screwed up beyond belief completely renders this pointless. I always felt that adding dice was an unnecessary feature that would introduce bugs into an already bug-riddled system and I find it ironic that OBS haven't yet found the time to fix the system that they introduced when they should really have been spending dev cycles on fixing the bugs that were already there. -
Selecting dice
mccrispy replied to Foolish_Dog's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
You can only select dice once the character is in a party. For some reason, OBS decided that people would want to assign dice at the party level, rather than at the character level. Myself, I just don't understand that decision at all, but it is what it is. A quick search for "assign dice" turned up this post http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/88961-dices-skin-reset-arranging-party/?do=findComment&comment=1841552 have a look, OBS explain how it works. (BTW, it's not completely accurate in my experience as dice assignments are more persistent than OBS seem to indicate will be the case.) -
That makes it sound like the issue is due to your emulation. I haven't seen anything unusual with harpies so far. Unfortunately, unless users on supported devices start seeing these issues, the devs aren't likely to look into them. Graphics and sound issues I'm absolutely happy to write off as emulator-related. But game code logic is game code logic. Besides, the list of "supported devices" is very short and it's not as though I haven't reported a bug or two in my time - bugs that have been repro'd by OBS. What I need to do is figure out the specific triggers to help with the repro. This is now unlikely to happen as I figured a way to work around the problem (which seems to be - at least in part - related to characters having to move): I started the Scenario with all 6 characters at the Temple and just blitzed it. Nobody had to move as a result of a failed check and everything seemed OK.

It seems like (at least for me - given that nobody else is responding to this thread) that meeting Harpy Monks at the Temple is completely <ExpletiveDeleted> up! Every single time I encounter a Harpy Monk at the Temple, something goes horribly wrong with the game logic. The list of things that goes wrong is too long and too complex to list here, I just cannot believe that nobody else has seen this. I'm going to video my next game just to show how bad it gets.

BUG: Belt of Giant Strength
mccrispy replied to mastratton's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
What Hannibal_PJV is alluding to is that at the moment if you add any bonus (+N or Dice) the game is likely to change the Skill Check to what it considers to be the "best" skill. Usually this means that it gets it wrong. In this case, because it's a Belt of +Strength it seems to think that it would be best to switch to a Strength Check rather than a Melee Check. It's a pain and it means that you have to very closely monitor the Skill Check selector. Hopefully OBS will fix the logic soon. Really soon. -
Please read through this thread and find the Please look back through this thread to find the OBS recommended workaround that I refer to as the "Shirosama Solution".

Suggestion: Restart Button
mccrispy replied to Paabo's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I'm sorta okay with leaving that part as is. The fact that it is annoying and time-consuming to restart is the only thing stopping a player from "modifier shopping." I totally admit that I will click as many buttons as necessary to forfeit scenarios with particularly terrible and non-fun modifier combos, but if it were really easy to back out and restart it would just allow players to keep rolling the RNG until an "easy" scenario came up. Yeah I can see where you're coming from, but in the end what does it matter, really? It's not like the game is competitive. If you wanna reroll wildcards all day, I say you should be able to. It's all about user enjoyment! The difference is that with Heroic and Legendary you are earning Gold that you can use instead of money to obtain in game benefits. Now, let me ask you what you think OBS might feel about allowing players to bypass the (average) difficulty bar that OBS has set to earn that gold? -
Wow! Your Mirror Image worked! My success rate with MI is waaaay below 75%, so I never even have an MI in my spellbook. It's a reflection of my suspicion of the randomiser in PACG. BTW, I recognise the issue with modifiers being displayed in the Current Effects panel, while they aren't actually being applied. I had a similar situation where the +2 for each Henchman killed modifier showed up +6 *and* +8! Fortunately only the +8 was in effect. OBS need to do a *metric ton* of work on that Current Effects panel to make it more (a) accurate and (b) useful ('cos we don't get a full break-down of the Current Effects).

Suggestion: Restart Button
mccrispy replied to Paabo's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Not necessarily features that I'd want (though the process of going back to pick the right party or the right scenario difficulty level is extremely painful), but it is an indication of a generally immature and underdeveloped UI. There has been little consideration of use cases and more on adding non-gameplay-related features (like dice). I wish OBS would put more effort into the UI from a usability/use case point of view -
Your cloud saves are used automatically. You haven't explained why you think you've lost progress.

[1.1.4.3] Lini can't heal herself
mccrispy replied to Saint Ajora's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Interesting! I've only been using Kyra to cast Healing spells and they've all worked fine (though Ezren - yes, Ezren - did cast Cure successfully, I just can't remember whether it was on himself or not). I wonder if the fix for Kyra's self-heal has broken all other healing? I do hope not. -
Forgefiend damage without melee trait?
mccrispy replied to Nirven's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
The padlock symbol on the Card that you are displaying shows that its power is blocked and that it is just a single Card discard. If the effect is active you get a shield or recharge symbol depending on the effect. Sometimes the symbols don't display, but a VRT fixes that -
What progress have you lost? You shouldn't have lost anything 'cos it should all be stored in the Cloud.
