  1. So what you're saying is that the Devs used lazy coding techniques to simulate Recharge Instead by auto-passing the Recharge Check instead of coding a Rechard Instead method? Niiiiice.
  2. I'm going to bump this one 2 months after it was first raised - and STILL with no OBS acknowledgement! Today I had Lini and Seoni at the same location. Lini met the Warrior of Wrath and Seoni used her Staff of Hungry Shadows to take the Combat check down from 27 (funny how 2D4 comes up 7 so often and yet my Wand of Enervation D4 has come up as 1 on 80% the rolls - and I have two of them in the party!) to 10. I grabbed a spell and cast it (knowing that Lini only had her 3 Inflict spells in hand) added animal trick and rolled the dice. Success!! Then the Inflict spell was Banished! Only... Oh no! It was Seoni's Lightning Bolt that was banished: it had been transferred to Lini's hand when Seoni assisted Lini. And of course the only Spells that I gained in the Scenario were Divine, so Seoni had to take a Divine to fill her quota at the end of the Scenario. Wonderful. Just peachy.
  3. While I fully support they finally implement "decline to acquire", what I don't get is - why doesn't anyone in that location just discard their own items (so they have nothing to banish, if the location is triggered)? Am i missing something? I concur! You can't afford to burn items just so you don't Banish them (though the net effect on card count is the same). Besides, some Items are too useful to have in your hand (and indeed, your strategy may be built around them, at least in part). This is another example of where the failure of the digital to implement the physical is incomplete or defective and therefore irritating, to say the least.
  4. @Flounder: dude, those are some painful decisions! Ouch! But though I'm bitterly disappointed that I won't be playing Quest Mode at level 40+ until at least 2017, I respect the decision and I appreciate the fact that a grown up decision has been made. I've frequently said "focus on getting it right" so I can hardly carp when that's exactly what you do My only issue is how I'm going to farm enough gold to pay for AP6 - farming is no fun if it only generates gold. I guess I'll have to start 11 new characters to progress the other roles that I didn't take.
  5. I think that there's a similar issue with Boons that get "Recharge Instead" for Arcane/Divine. I'm pretty sure that I've been surprised recently when a card got Buried by a Location Effect (or maybe Wildcard?) when I was expecting it to get Recharged.
  6. ^ That. Mike's -by his own words- 'unofficial' call, was later overturned when it was established that when "X happens instead of Y - then Y never happened at all". So, (when choosing to do so!) Lini never discards her animals for their powers - she directly recharges them, without any interim state of the card that would trigger the Golden Rule and invoke the Farmhouse power. Do you have a reference for this?
  7. The difference is that the physical game didn't do things like force you to abandon the game you'd been spending an hour on so far. Neither did you have to decide whether to throw away your current progress in the campaign or wait around for a week hoping that Paizo would turn up and fix your game for you. I could go on for a very long time in this vein. Sure, there *are* advantages to the digital version, but I suspect that you've seen the volume of bugs that I've personally posted and I'm just a minor contributor to the forums, while there are errata for the physical game these are mainly card errata - a whole different category of error to the digital game's broken game logic. As for "the game does what I expect it to", man you have low expectations! Personally, it's the fact that the game repeatedly *fails* to do what I expect it to that makes me cross. (Fails to heal when I banish a Potion of Healing, transfers a card from Seoni to Lini, scraps all the bonuses played on a check without returning the discarded cards, again, I could continue in this vein for some time) Nevertheless, I like the game - I wouldn't invest so much time in it if I didn't - and my frustrations are born out of my like and my desire for it to be so much *more*. If we all pretend that it's fine and fail to highlight the issues, going along with the expected wave of positivity, what incentive will OBS to get it all sorted?
  8. This has been remarked on before - I suspect that it's waaaaaaaaay down the priority list.
  9. Working for me about 8 hours ago - I'm on 1.1.5.1 (709) However. There are reports of all "self-heal" effects breaking intermittently. I have found that if I do any healing "off turn" then there's a chance that I'll break all self-healing effects (Kyra's Exorcist, the 1 card from Major Cure, the self-heal from Mass Cure, even - IIRC - Father Zanthus and Potions of Healing). "Normal" healing of others continues to work.
  10. This is similar to several issues reported some time ago so as I'm experiencing this in build 704 I thought that I'd bump the issue and highlight that the bug is still open from September. BUG: Story Mode Items disappear Seoni -> Lini unintended card transfer Teleporting card? Device: BlueStacks emulator OS: Android 5.1 PACG build: 1.1.5.1 (704) Pass & Play: OFF Permadeath: OFF Mode: Tutorial/Story/Quest Party Members: Seoni, Harsk, Lini, Amiri, Sajan, Ezren Turn Order: per party Scenario: 5.3 Difficulty: Heroic Wildcards: Driving Rain Location: Temple Lini encountered the Alu-Demon Sister at the Temple (it's always the frickin' Temple that griefs me!). Seoni Buried the Wand of Enervation to provide some support and suddenly, Seoni's Wand of Scorching Rays appeared in Lini's hand!
  11. And here's a series showing the Reveal VT, discard another card sequence,
  12. I have also experienced this today with (of all characters) Seoni! I can reveal then discard a card, but I can't discard the VT to get the benefit. Here's a sequence of screenies showing Seoni attempting the discard VT, discard another card sequence BTW, you can't cancel the discard of the VT without using a VRT.
  13. Device: BlueStacks emulator OS: Android 5.1 PACG build: 1.1.5.1 (704) Pass & Play: OFF Permadeath: OFF Mode: Tutorial/Story/Quest Party Members: Seoni, Harsk, Lini, Amiri, Sajan, Ezren Turn Order: per party Scenario: 5.3 Difficulty: Heroic Wildcards: Driving Rain Location: Prison Trigger: Healing Potion/Location Power Sajan encounters Potion of Healing. Decides to use the Location's Power ("Attempt Dexterity/Disable 8 in place of usual check to acquire a boon"). Now in my days at school 8 + 3 (from Driving Rain) is 11. But his check is a ridiculous 14.
  14. It's funny isn't it how those 1 in 3 chances come up 9 in 10? I had the same problem with the "CZ" Villain in one of the earlier packs. I think my record is 3 successive Undefeateds (and it probably only stopped there 'cos I was out of ammo)
  15. If you're in Story Mode, try launching a Scenario with a different party.
  16. I assume that you've tried a VRT/Main Menu/Quit/App Kill escalation?
  17. I've certainly experienced his power failing to trigger too. I can't remember the circumstances I'm afraid and it's going to take me some time to be able to verify as I'm still working through 5.1 on Heroic with my second party. It looks like it's going to take forever because the Banes +4 and (effectively automatically) encounter a Hound of Lamashtu every time you defeat a monster totally soak up my blessings (and that's ignoring any wildcard - some of which render it utterly unbeatable), leaving no capacity for the additional pull-though needed in a party of 6. The "Heroic" bonus of 100G is pretty laughable given how many attempts it's likely to take.
  18. Device: BlueStacks emulator OS: Android 5.1 PACG build: 1.1.5.1 (704) Pass & Play: OFF Permadeath: OFF Mode: Story Party Members: Seoni, Harsk, Lini, Amiri, Sajan, Ezren Turn Order: per party Scenario: 5.1 Difficulty: Heroic Wildcards: Banes +4 Location: Prison Harsk encountered a Goblin Warchanter at the Prison. Normally I don't bother using weapons/spells or wasting blessings trying to pass the Wisdom check on the GWC, but with banes at +4 the potential damage was too high to risk an unmodified combat roll. Fortunately, Ezren had the WoE and managed to roll 2 for a modifier of 6. He also had Swipe, so I played that too. Once Swipe had been played the GWC check was reset to 12 (not 9 for the Swipe, not 3 for the Swipe + WoE). So I performed a VRT and when I came back Ezren had become the current character and was encountering an Ogre at the Old Light. "Oh-oh" I thought: "shades of Alu-Demon Sisters/Harpy Monks at Temple!". So I Forfeited the game to avoid the stupidity.
  19. I'd noticed that too. I assumed that it was an artefact of running on an emulator as I've had problems with the way that the custom dice have been displayed when running in an emulator. I'd also assumed that it was just the character on the left of the screen, rather than specific to Seoni. Good catch.
  20. BTW best post title ever!
  21. Nah, Swipe has always (as far as I remember - but my memory is rubbish) just reduced the Check by 3. Unlike the WoE. I think the WoE behaves the way it does because it has to reset the Check to ensure that the die roll can't exploited (though actually it can). Dunno, having written that I'm not so sure. But I suspect that there's a difference in processing a straight -3 vs a variable modifier. But I'll check next time I play.
  22. And to wrap it all up: Kyra played a Blessing to Explore again and encountered the ADS again! This time Ezren failed his check to be able to cast Swipe and so nothing weird happened (except that I made damn sure that Kyra passed her combat check).
  23. OK, not quite back to normal! After acquiring the Mirror Image and not being offered an Explore, Ezren used a Magic Spyglass to find Frost Ray, Fiery Weapon and Alu-Demon Sister at the top of his deck. He rearranged so that he could use Haste to Explore again, encounter the Frost Ray which he should acquire and then the Eldritch Exuberance would allow an encounter with the ADS that his Frost Ray would defeat. Only once he closed the Location Deck overlay having ordered the cards, it went back to Kyra's turn! Still on 28 Blessings.
  24. Now I've cancelled the Scorching Ray and the check changes to an Arcane 6 Check for Mirror Image. Ezren went on to pass the check (but he didn't acquire a Mirror Image) and be offered an Explore after his Eldritch Exuberance animation. Look what happens when he Explores! Yep, he's making an Arcane 6 check against Mirror Image while the card he Encountered is being displayed face down. Crazy!!! So, just for LOLs let's see what happens next Yup, he acquired a Mirror Image - only no Eldritch Exuberance triggers. Hopefully the game has got itself sorted out now.
  25. Further to this: I was posting mid-turn, so I carried on and Ezren played Scorching Ray for the LOLs. Now look at the screen! He's rolling a Combat Check against Mirror Image and the check is now 0!
