Mountain Peak + Crusade issue
mccrispy replied to EDL666's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
When I don't have Lini in the party, Amiri does a fine job with her Move Fast power. Currently, I have both Amiri and Harsk (Harsk is the first character to act, followed by Amiri), so he goes there in the Mountain Peak, explore, then I send Amiri there to explore and to take him to somewhere safer with her Move Another ability. I have also the option to not to send Amiri there (if I want to explore the place she is in), but use the Move Another to bring him to her location. And isn't that an action with an intuitive interface? "I move to the same place that I am already, then move somebody to the same location" Yikes! -
Improving visibility would be a nice change. Replacing the vague "Combat" at the top of the screen with "Combat:Dex" or "Ranged" etc... would let users know how the game is calculating bonuses without having to tap around and explore which check it picked. Not only is it hard to notice when the game optimizes your roll and inadvertently changes the check type, but looking at the forums or reddit, a lot of users don't even know that you have the ability to change the check type. It can be confusing when you play a card that should provide a bonus, and it is not clear how it turned into a net negative. What would be really nice (in a wishlist sort of way) was if you tapped on the bonus box, a popup would show how that number was calculated. That way when you see Harsk has a +7, you can easily see it was comprised of [+3 Ranged, +3 Dex, +1 Longbow+1]. Character bonuses (as well as modifiers working against you) can get very opaque and difficult for the user to track. I wholeheartedly agree with this! As a minimum, the Skill Check indicator should have a highlight that persists until the Skill Check indicator is opened or the next effect is applied - just as a visual indicator that your skill die has changed. It should be possible to provide a "hover over" that shows a breakdown of the current bonus and it would be nice if the Skill Check indicator showed where the Skill Die selection came from. But really, IMO it should be possible to show all the effects that are applied to the current check by displaying them in the current effects panel (not that that panel works properly currently - I've had a +6 and a +8 for defeated henchmen showing at the same time - nor does it show all the skill checks' modifiers). I know that all modifiers are + modifiers (either + difficulty, or + to the check) but a simple colour code by Bane/Character should suffice.

The invisible enemy

Oh dear, you did miss out on a lot of Feats due to the bug that didn't award them unless you won the Scenario, didn't you? Ouch! The bug that you showing (where only the first is Feat awarded) was fixed in 1.1.4.1 IIRC, certainly it's fixed in 1.1.4.2. I know this because I was one of the people that reported the original bug and the broken fix to the bug and I've since levelled to 40 for all my characters who were missing Feats. If you're running 1.1.4.2 and you're still seeing this issue then you may have found a second bug in the "Feat Fixup" patch, where it can only do a maximum of 2 Feats. On the other hand, if you can persuade the game to reload at the beginning of the post-scenario screens, it might pick it up properly. If it doesn't then you'll probably have to delete the game.sav file in SLOT99 - unless you're on iOS 8 or later, in which case I believe you are (to use a technical term) screwed. (An iOS guru user may help you out, I'm strictly Noddy-level Android myself.)

Just seen this one myself. So that's +1 -
Mountain Peak + Crusade issue
mccrispy replied to EDL666's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
yeah, I've used the Amiri/Slave approach too. It works really well - as long as I remember to execute on it and don't leave the darned slave (or indeed, Amiri) behind! -
Wow, another xploit! I've not seen that one because it's Seoni's job to deal with the Academy for my current party. That bug is odd, because it's an "on closing", not an "end of turn" effect. Not that if it were an end of turn it wouldn't be a bug, but I can sort of see how it might happen. But "on closing" effects should only trigger once - immediately after closing. So that's an odd one! Good spot!

Device: BlueStacks emulator OS: Android 5.1 PACG build: 1.1.4.2 Pass & Play: OFF Permadeath: OFF Mode: Story Party Members: Seoni, Valeros, Lem, Harsk, Lini Turn Order: per party Scenario: 2.4 Difficulty: Normal Wildcards: none Location: Mill Trigger: Justice Ironbriar First, I can confirm that JI is no longer immortal. Hurrah! But. He's still messed up big time! I had all the locations except for the Mill closed and I was running down on Blessings in the Blessings Deck and everyone was firing on empty (it really hurts Seoni when she can't use the Spells she collects!) so everyone on their turn was piling in at the Mill and trying to burn at least 2 cards off the Location Deck (though most only managed 1). Finally, I was down to 0 Blessings in the Deck and it was Lem's turn at the oche. I reviewed everyone's situation and decided to let Valeros take the random monster encounter. Having selected Valeros for the encounter, the display switched to show Valeros. But weirdly, only his Blessings were highlighted, not his weapon. Worse than that, his skill die was a D4! A quick check showed that it was actually still Lem who was active character - even a VRT didn't change this. So I was stuck with Lem having to deal with a Mercenary - armed only with a Light Crossbow. I couldn't throw everything I had left at defeating the Mercenary, 'cos I felt that I'd need it for dealing with JI. Fortunately, Lem defeated the Mercenary with the little assistance I could spare. On to dealing with JI! I'd forgotten that JI can be defeated by an Arcane 11 instead of the Combat 16, so I went with Lem's superior Arcane and decided to throw in a Blessing of Gorum for the extra D10, figured 2D10+4 was a reasonable "hail Mary". Imagine my surprise when Valeros's BoG yielded 2D10! Needless to say, 3D10+4 was more than enough to see off that scoundrel Ironbriar ("Justice" my arse!) tl;dr Selecting an "off-turn" character for the Justice Ironbriar random monster encounter does not change active character Contributing a Blessing of Gorum from the "off-turn" character yielded 2 bonus dice on an Arcane check My, my, the code does a poor job of tracking the Encounter process! I took some souvenir photos for your amusement:

Mountain Peak + Crusade issue
mccrispy replied to EDL666's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Then don't fail the check! Seriously: excellent spot! That darn check is why it's usually Lini's job to deal with the Mountain Peak (of course, she's not always in the party... ) -
Isn't the check type switch a generalised issue with applying bonuses to checks (rather than just with Belts)? It's very common with Blessings for me to have to go and change the check type once I've added a Blessing. I'd love to know the logic that's used in setting the check type when a bonus effect is applied, it would help me understand the selections that get made (personally, I think it should be determined by the average result, rather than by the number of dice - or, even better, the probability that the check will succeed). I regularly get switched from a 2D8 to a 3D4 when I add a Blessing that matches a Skill. Generally, I'd prefer the 2D8 as it has a higher average - though it is less likely to roll the average.

Some bugs in the new version
mccrispy replied to Irgy's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
This has happened to me as well on the last 2 updates iPhone 6 10.0.2 iPad 4 10.0.2 With both devices, bug occurred on v1.1.4.0 and v1.1.4.1 The party is now unplayable when either option (heal or continue) are selected. Buttons appear clickable, but nothing happens when you select any of them. Had to start a new party to play. Is there a bug tracker you use for this kind of stuff like bugzilla or jira? I fear that you are looking at it. Or at least the public-facing one. -
Game frozen!
mccrispy replied to runslikeawelshman's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
This is great (though it makes for slightly confusing reading as replies from pre-merging are now interwoven). Any chance that the thead title could be changed to something that might prevent more new threads spawning? Perhaps it could be pinned and be titled "Game hangs/frozen after Kyra Exorcist's Heal/Continue" -
Kyra Exorcist Heal bug
mccrispy replied to nikk2009's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Did you delete the game.sav file in SLOT99? If you did, then you may have fallen foul of the Cloud Save/Sync saving your game and syncing it back when you log on. I know that I've worked around this in the past, but I can't remember how (though I think that I launched the game and deleted the game.sav then closed the game - only likely to be possible on Android. If anybody has a better approach to ensuring that the game.sav is deleted from both local and Cloud storage, that would be awesome) -
Kyra Exorcist Heal bug
mccrispy replied to nikk2009's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
This has been widely reported and has not yet been fixed in 1.1.4.2. The only way to move forward appears to be to delete your game.sav file. This will execute a "terminate with extreme prejudice" on your Scenario, so it will be as though you had never started that Scenario. It will also (IIRC) disband that party. -
Patch Notes for Update 1.1.4.1!
mccrispy replied to Mikey Dowling's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: Announcements & News
I like the new "Instant Salvage" it has the potential to save me a lot of time messing around in the Gallery. Or it would, if it had just one feature that is missing: an indication of how many of that card I already have in the Gallery. Actually, this is related to another feature that I feel that the Gallery needs: when I Salvage a card from the Gallery, I'd like to know how many copies I have assigned to characters, so I know that by Salvaging the card I am/am not affecting my party construction. -
Bug: Harpy at the Farmhouse
mccrispy replied to Saint Ajora's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I have an instance of a Harpy closing the Location - also at the Farmhouse (wierd, huh?) Device: BlueStacks emulator OS: Android 5.1 PACG build: 1.1.4.1 Pass & Play: OFF Permadeath: OFF Mode: Quest Party Members: Valeros, Lini, Kyra, Ezren, Seelah Turn Order: per party Scenario: ? Difficulty: Legendary Wildcards: Darket Night, Painful Memories, Scenario: Giants +2D4 Location: Farmhouse Trigger: Valeros encounters Harpy Valeros encountered the Harpy and I'm not sure who succeeded their checks against the Harpy's power - I think one person may have failed (highly likely in a party of 5). After everyone had attempted their Wisdom check, but before Valeros made his Combat Check, the Farmhouse Location closed. He then made his Combat Check and failed - but the Location was still closed. Here are screenies showing the situation: -
Bug: Use your library for anything.
mccrispy replied to aznxknight's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Has this always existed as an exploit or if not, what the heck have OBS been tinkering with to cause it in 1.1.4.1? It really feels like they are losing control of the dev process as the net number of bugs is not falling with each release. (Of course that may be an artefact of more eyes over more time spotting bugs that have always been there) -
Bug about quest mode
mccrispy replied to Porco's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
This bug has been reported many times. It should have been fixed in 1.1.4.1 but it doesn't look like it has. I'm not playing Quest any more as my characters are all level capped, so I'm not able to say whether 1.1.4.2 fixes the problem (and there's no release notes for 1.1.4.2 out at the time of my posting this) -
I think it's only an issue with Lem, but I'm not sure - I didn't think to check - but when I check Lem's discard before using his Efficiency(?) the Close cross/button doesn't have any effect, I have to close it by clicking anywhere outside the Discard overlay. (always good to report a bug from one's first play on a new patch! )

Patch Notes for Update 1.1.4.1!
mccrispy replied to Mikey Dowling's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: Announcements & News
Are you sure? It works ok for me in 1.1.4.1 - I was one of the original bug reporters for this one and have now managed to get my last 5 characters to their level cap with all Feats. Please post in the Tech Support form and we'll try to help. -
Problem with Erylium
mccrispy replied to Smilla23's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
There seems to be an issue with more than one "immortal" Villain. This has already been reported with Erylium and Justice Ironbriar. I'm waiting to see whether it's a general issue with all Villains that Summon before you encounter them. Very frustrating bug indeed!
