I'm here because some pretentious schutta stole my ship.

If producers have felt able to ignore community desire for K3 for eight years, what makes you think trying to whip up the remnants of a community that exist at this point will work?

The Science of Why We Don't Believe in Science
Darth InSidious replied to alanschu's topic in Way Off-Topic
Yes, but being fond of the past doesn't mean wanting to actually live in it*, let alone restrict yourself to the intellectual prejudices and, to be frank, idiocies, of it. * I've tried. The plumbing is appalling. -

Believe in science? You might as well worship a hammer. -
Introducing Vault-Tec Vaults... for real
Darth InSidious replied to Guard Dog's topic in Way Off-Topic
Not that it makes much difference over here. Even our nuclear shelters for government officials were rubbish. -
Isn't this the secret of every Mac product? It's shiny and overpriced, therefore it must be worth it... right? Right?

The real question is what we should do. I mean, normally you give something to the birthday child, though I'm not sure I want to know what an Obs-board-designed game would look like*. *Obviously, it would have to be set in the fabulous Bowl-World® setting, possibly involving much Fighting In Tunnels.

In as much as words are the tools of thought, quite possibly not.

The world is not an amalgam of objects in space; it is a heterogeneous series of independent acts - the world is successive, temporal, but not spatial. Would you agree, incidentally, that mirrors and copulation are abominable, because they increase the number of men?

Planets, Space & Satellites don't exist
Darth InSidious replied to Felithvian's topic in Way Off-Topic
The Sun doesn't have hydrogen gas or liquid in it, the Sun doesn't fuse atoms to create energy either, its God's light. (Jn 1:4-5) -

KOTOR might be coming to iPad
Darth InSidious replied to Bokishi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
How's that going to work, given KotOR relies heavily on either mouse-and-keyboard, or Xbox controller inputs? -
Future title: Kotor 3?
Darth InSidious replied to mcshambles's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
OEI's pitch is a dead letter. EA is not going to take an external developer with a record like OEI's when they have Bioware as part of their portfolio - which in business terms is a much surer bet. -
Future title: Kotor 3?
Darth InSidious replied to mcshambles's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
EA has the license to make Star Wars games for the next few years: http://ea.newshq.businesswire.com/press-release/company-news/walt-disney-company-and-ea-announce-multi-year-star-wars-games-agreement This is pretty much an announcement that Bio is making another KotOR - and that OEI isn't in the running. This, of course, fits with Disney's approach to the SW franchise: milk it for all it's worth. -
From your intimate knowledge of the subject, living halfway around the world and an ocean away from the United Kingdom. It's particularly... interesting to note in those too young to have even seen her resign. The word indoctrination might seem a little extreme, but then, so is the reaction on both the Left and the Right. Particularly given that, you know, she resigned in nineteen-ninety. The only person who still cared about Stanley Baldwin in 1950 was Churchill. Her ladyship. She was given a barony, not a dukedom. 3 day week? The Three-Day Week. A Conservative screw-up, but still illustrative of the chokehold the union leaders possessed. What on Earth does the royal family have to do with it? The second election of (October) '74. "Who governs Britain?", and all that.

So, what do people reckon to the chances of OE's Star Wars RPG pitch, in the light of this?

Future title: Kotor 3?
Darth InSidious replied to mcshambles's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Pretty sure Disney said somewhere they weren't interested in video games and would be scaling back production of them, and that they're uninterested in the EU, too. -

Darth InSidious replied to C2B's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Yes, but given the previous two games and TOR, there's going to be a lot of pressure on for it to resolve the Revan/Exile narrative. Plus, I thought I read that Disney was planning to shut down LucasArts and/or scale back on Star Wars games... -
Sara Kestelman
Darth InSidious replied to Azrayel's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Kestelman is a great actress with a wonderful voice. She's definitely got the chops to do a first-rate job as the narrator, and it'd be a significant boon for the game to be voice-acted by people of that calibre (if and where possible). Additionally, while her voice is recognisable, it's hardly ubiquitous, and Kestelman has demonstrated in her career enough different characters that it need not be a Kreia-clone.- 24 replies

Jeremy Soule?
Darth InSidious replied to LordsWeapon's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I'd rather Mark Griskey than Soule, myself.
