  1. Swashbuckler with active abilities, offensive, and probably will cheat high level Rogue/Fighter abilities if there are no other rogues or fighters on the party
  2. Some request/suggestions: In the map, a small circle around the ships that starts the encouter when enter in contact, instead of having the ships to touch on the map. An option to hide enemy information that we shouldn't have. In ship combat, having the enemy ship on top as the constant instead of our ship pointing up and the enemy ship moving around, it would help with the feeling on confrontation with the other ship and desorientation at sea.
  3. I always try to play an unusual class and after getting my ass kicked a few times in the first fight, I start over as a fighter (or a rogue so I can scout ahead and don't get stumped by traps or locks). I'm doing it right now in the Deadfire beta. If you have to count on magic protection and good attacks that run out mid fight you have no choice but to hang back. That's a little like you're in the game's game if you know what I mean. I look for characters that promise exciting interesting play and storyline. I don't play dwarves because they are (traditionally) slow and don't feel different enough to be compelling in spite of that. I've played Godlike in PoE but (I don't think) you can change the appearance so it hasn't become my thing. Everyone who plays is playing the same character and that doesn't appeal. I don't think I've ever played a human in an RPG. I've also never played as a white dude though I do in fact make the character resemble me as much as possible. I currently have 3 play throughs as a dwarf. A Barb, a Battle Priest of Magran and a Chanter (Solo). I love Dwarves. Borreals for exceptional DPS builds and Mountain Dwarves for more of a RP/Story experience. BGEEs brought us Dwarven Defenders. Played that class first upon the EE releases. I have 3 close friends who played PoE, they all played at least one completed game with a dwarf. I guess they can track metrics these days via Steam and what have you but that they are saying no one plays dwarves and no one plays Priests seems very odd to me.It doesn't seems odd to me. Play any MMORPGs and watch how many DPS they are compared to tank and healers (answers: healer and tanks are super rare) and the race distribution: dwarf is always at the bottom. But this isn’t a MMORPG. I fully understand the DPS solo play of the MMORPG. POE is a completely different type of monster. It's pretty obvious that most people like to play a character that is similar to their own physiology. It's basic psychology. As for healers, same psychology applies, people want to be leaders, not support characters. Of course this doesn't mean everyone plays like this but we are talking about averages, not individuals. True, and a reason I made the post asking why people play the classes that they do. I'd say that perhaps the DPS popularity is more commonly associated with a need to feel empowered and strong, being able to enforce one's will over others. A leader can be the healer/buffer/speaker like real life leaders who orchestrate the team to their strengths. Isn't it one of the reasons the D&D Cleric was made into a heavy armor tank that could bash people's brains in with a mace, and gradually became an all-conquering, all-powerful meat grinder at higher levels? Because nobody wants to be a wimpy healer? I'm sure I read that somewhere about the original design of the Cleric. Golly that's a lot of quotes I know, right?
  4. As said, ther will be minor variables not posible to set in the manual state interface, but i would be surprised if no one makes some final save file editor.
  5. I was thinking about making guns and bows having fixed damage. Guns and Bows, while require strength to use effectively, its damage does not increase significantly with more strength, a sword does. Having Guns and Bows fixed Damage, Other than solving this, would allow melee or rank specialization (Str for melee, Dex and Per for range) for combat and for the character concept. Of course, it would require balance.
  6. Looks good, i probably wont turn on the AI, but i will surely enjoy playing around and setting behaviours for the companions.
  7. I was more interested in conceptual descriptions of the subclasses rather than mechanical descriptions :c
  8. Druid Paladin Priest Monk Ranger Rogue Wizard
  9. Abydon died, you used the parts of him that lived in the Eyeless to reconstruct him, as far i remember, while the eyeless was a part of Abydon, had no Abydon's memories, they know what the eyeless knew and what you told them. You didn't erase his memory, just convince him to change his mind Odra wanted to stop the Eyeless, and as a consecquence, destroy it. Remember that Odra loved Abydon, but yes, i was expecting her to mention the return of Abydon
  10. I haven't play a RTwP or any crpg before, settled Medium at the start, changed it to Hard after the attack to the caravan, had problems just in a few encounters while learning mechanics(first encounters with inmunities and things like teleporting enemies) and getting used to the combat. if you plan to manage all your actions, read descriptions and think (i mean, maybe you don't want to worry to much and that is fine) i recommend you to try Hard.
  11. Having a party caped at six does allow you to go with a five man party, with a disadvantage, yes, but you can't go with six if there is a cap on five, wouldn't be better to establish a recommended party size, and encourage people to play this way, but not to put limitations, so, just as someone can play with a weaker four man party on a game balanced around six, can play with a broken seven, or twelve, on a game balanced around five, if that is what ze wants
  12. Eder's portrait on the videos looks weird to me, but after seeing the portrait with better quality i think it was the size that make it look like the eyes were so small and, in contrast the jaw big, still his right eye and lips look a little weird to me, may be because i saw the small portrait before. Pallegina looks so different, her noise, feathers, lips, her skin color is different (have more red?), interact different with the light, just looks like another person. I don't dislike Takehu's, i don't like it, not sure why, i think maybe doesn't fit with the other portraits, it may be something on his expression, i don't know I dislike Pallegina's, don't like or dislike Takehu's, i like the others.
  13. I have, using IE MOD, ChangeClass <name> <Class>, didn't find any problem http://rien-ici.com/iemod/console ( 20. Respec your party members)
  14. You mention that you want a non-companion class, so i guess you do not want to have similar characters, and even worst, let some companion out because of that, since with white march expansion there is one companion per class you may want to make substantial differentiation of your character and the companions, like if you choose monk, play one (your character or the companion) unarmored fist, while the other heavy armor sword, avoid taking the same abilities, dps active abilities fighter, passive abilities defensive with shield the other, you get the idea.
  15. The ±3% of might affect the auto-attack and damage powers, i do not know the maths so i can not tell there, but for the crowd-control, since the ±3% action speed does affect your powers, maybe is more effective to go high dexterity instead of might. I played a crowd-control wood elf cipher with 3 3 18 18 18 18(or something like that), and to experience the dps powers i used Grieving Mother.
  16. For Edér you could build him with all the active abilities available, i did that to make him more fun. You could tank with Kana instead of Durance, since chant speed doesn't goes slower with heavy armor and Durance cast speed does You can use HealParty console command if doesn't break your immersion, and to avoid breaking the game just use the per rest abilities seeing them as a limited resource, maybe that ever solve your inconvenient with wizards Play with the companion you want, but don't try to replace the exact role of one with another, when change your party composition build your party roles again, so one companion doesn't seem weaker than another
  17. I doubt there will be restrictions in the devoted´s weapon, hope we can choose unarmed Devoted. For the non-animal-companion i can think of a ranger that has not only his soul bounded but merged or something like that.
  18. I would really like to have the martial artist monk, tho for the PoE lore i think it would fit better as a subclass for fighter, or fighter monk multiclass, and since there is a weapons specialist, it would be cool to have an unarmed, unarmored fighter, with deflection based on chi sao-like techniques, anyway, just interested in this class concept too.
