The future? It's my present. I don't need a big TV bulking up my living space. Is there ever anything on it? For TV-series? Internet. Movies? Bluray/DVD on my PC. Why would I need a TV and console? Yes, those console-exclusive games suck (I look at you Heavy Rain or Red Dead Redemption), but they are seriously not worth over $1000 off additional tech one has to buy for them.

Meanwhile in London: Beheading in broad daylight
Hassat Hunter replied to Morgoth's topic in Way Off-Topic
Yup, that worked out so well in Boston. Or that schoolshooting. Or the Batman shooting. Or the New York sniper. Or the multitude of family dramas. Or the schoolshootings. Etc. etc. It only looks like it helps the perpetrators. Or is that what you want? As horrible as this is, they had to resort to knives. Only one innocent life got lost. In gunhappy America the innocent deathtoll would probably be much higher as they would just empty their guns on everybody. Much easier killing. *sigh* Americans... As for the other discussion; It doesn't matter when or how retraction will be. There will be civil war anyway. Both Iraq and Afghanistan have fundamentalist, hostile fractions of religions and beliefs in one country who hate each other. And now also ample terrorists who just like to add to the chaos of all. It doesn't matter if 'we' stay or leave, it'll be anarchy anyway. Even in non-occupied countries like Egypt once the dictator fell and all should be better things are worse than ever. And does not helping Syrie due to the black mark left on the west due to Iraq/Afghanistan help? No. But they just fear interfering due to getting more flak like that, and thousand of innocents die. It's a mess out there. And there isn't any way to fix it up... :/ -
Area of Effect
Hassat Hunter replied to Mr. Magniloquent's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Probably only would be useful for "cone-effect" type spells, like that paint spell or so. I think for big AoE effects it would be too much, especially since it would clearly hamper the AI, realising which side of the 2 people they need to start dropping their spells for maximum effect. Or if it's not calculated allow players to cheese it, or making tanks way more vital against spells than they probably should be. -
Any Ageing?
Hassat Hunter replied to CanineKind's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I don't see the use of such a system. If it's just for a buff or debuff during creation, might as well tag it into another system like race bonusses and penalties. Or class. Or feats. Etc. -
Being part of EA, you already have... twice. 0_o. Who did I miss out in ME3? And I can understand the "entitlement" You pay $15 a month? Not enough. You pay $10 for an expansion WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO INCLUDE THEM, not enough. Now I know a lot use opologetic excuses like 'you get 500CC for one month sub, so you can use that for the Cathar', but it's still paying ontop of your sub. It's cheaper to not pay the $15 a month and just getting $15 of CC. Although if it's free for subs that could pose issues if you unsub. So the best overall solution would be to put it in the expansion, you can't 'loose' that. And they did. Till they don't. And put it up later for more bucks. That's the biggest problem I see. If they just stuffed it with the x-pack like they promised, no one would complain. EDIT (2 new posts appear out-of-nowhere); While Shale and apparently the ME3/DA2 where finished post-gold, their development already started before that. So they just finished it, right? Around DA:O that would be a free gift (we fixed it up, here, good people). Later however the practice became just to ask money for that. They promised the cathar for the expansion. Not done yet by then and want to release? Fine. But give what you promised to it's buyers. Not make them pay afterwards just because your timing and workethic sucks and you didn't finish it in time. EDIT 2; During appointing my skill points (Jedi Shadow, Balance Tree) I noticed "Mind Warp." It states it makes Mind Crush last 1 second longer. The second skill point does 2. So unmodified it does x-x damage instantly (don't recall) and at that moment did 2030 damage over 6 seconds. Applying one point it did the same x-x damage instantly and still 2030 damage. But now over 7 seconds. 2 points, still 2030 damage over time, this time 8 seconds. I mean... doesn't that make Mind Crush WORSE per invested skill point? Am I missing something here? Or is it seriously the worst skill ever, making a power less potent than more. Is it's function hidden or did BioWare really drop a ball here?
-
I can easily answer that. While in the DA:O days unfinished content like a Shale would be delivered free for buyers, in modern day BW they happily cut out chunks of fully finished content, like that DA2 party member or in this case the Cathar to give you something more to pay for... They aren't even trying to hide it under 'it benefits first-buyers above second-hand buyers' anymore... everyone gets screwed.

I hated car stuff in GTA IV. Mostly has to do since driving cars sucked in general. I missed the III/VC/SA driving. Much more fun, much less boring. And what "reviews" are you basing it on? I just ignore online reviews, except by players on fora. They *all* suck. Good thing we Dutchies got a good printed mag that is kinda good...

Infact, it adds NOTHING to the game pre-50. It's all for 50+

Stuck in the secret acadamy
Hassat Hunter replied to Erikjust83's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Hmmm... let me guess? Invisible handmaidens? If so you overwrote TSLRCM's appearance.2da with one of another mod, and that's screwing up the game... -
Well, the problem can be looking too close to the stats and listening to well to the fans. From what I hear a lot of people left during the origins in DA:O (what with the "new ****" campaign telling so well it's a RPG). Instead of looking at the abhorrant marketing however, they modified their game to this 'statistic'. We all know what the result was, DA2. On the other hand I really liked ME3. Sure, I too would be happier if it ended just before the space kid sequence, but I don't think the entire series got taunted for it. Still hate ME2 for having no plot what-so-ever though. Yeah, they lowered it in the "revised ending" patch.

Someone put a Section X account-wide unlock for 300K on the GTN (normal price ranges around 1.2M). Which makes me one happy f2p player Also put 600K in my escrow for the 2.1 escrow deduction feature. Yeah, it seems good times for the f2p/pref players in TOR...
-
I do send mails to support with bugs and/or exploit, even if it takes about 5 tries before the auto-system realise it's one major buglist and not a suggestion or general question. Don't know what more I can do... Kind of funny f2p helps me too here. I'm a completionist. So with sub I would majorly overlevel. However due to the f2p's XP-reducement it flows a lot better for someone who does tend to do all sidequests. I feel your pain. The amount of times I died trying to get a good target in PvP and instead of being able to properly target the guy attacking me I get the random dude far away or behind me. The lag doesn't help either in hectic battles. Hmmm, interesting. I should look at that .
-
It's not quite that as well as that more and more of the restrictions on f2p are taken away, and you get less value for your sub since everything needs to be paid for in CC. The same value for subs as for f2p (even a discount there would make subscribing make more sense). Quickslots? Free more added, and cheap on GTN. Server slots? You can easily gather all you need on the GTN. Artifact unlock? Again, just get some of the GTN. They go as low as 250K now some days. Credit cap? No problem, 2.1 allows you to circumvent it. Really, the absolute only thing I miss as f2p compared to sub is the 20m qt compared to 2h quick travel. Is that worth $15? I say no.

I'm playing the "I forgot KOTOR2 was such a pain to mod, and I forget a lot" game. And probably will be for quite some time now...
-
I do... and I still have the same opinion. Especially last week, when operations passes went on the GTN for around 70K and I hoarded quite a sum. What else to spend credits on anyway? I don't really hate the game that much. Is it no-where near as good as KOTOR1 and 2? Yes. Is the gameplay annoying at times. Yes. But hey, if I can tell Bio/EA where the pain-points are, maybe it can be improved upon. Sadly, the worst con is the support. Which is absolutely attrocious. Issues and issues cluthering up, no attention to people, same automatic responses to everyone, harming good classes in PvE just to suit some PvP'ers wish. Nickle-and-diming. That's the major pain point. Also you would think people would be happy that I inform them how they can simply play the game F2P without loosing pretty much any functionality compared to paying $15 a month. Since it's definitely possible. Heck, even I agree Cathar should be free for subs and CC for 'f2p'... It's not really my fault the game gets more functions for f2p and less and less for subs. I don't work there or make decisions. And seeing I'm no sub it doesn't really affect me that much anyway. It's just... *interesting* to see a so called sub/f2p hybrid proving to all that it infact does not work.
-
Yeah, Balmorra is riddled with them. Fortunately it gets a lot better afterwards with about 1 or 2 max per planet. And still subscribers look with the neck to f2p, seeing us as inferior and not helping the game. Funnily seeing more and more their sub is absolutely worthless. What are you paying $15 a month for? Less and less. F2P are getting overall a better package. Everything starts costing CC, so you might aswell stick that $15 in there, get more than 500-600 and unlock everything subscribers add extra for. And with escrow deduction coming in 2.1, the single-biggest con to being f2p is being taken away. So I still say, save your money, play f2p. It's not super-limited and unplayable as some like to claim, it's actually superior to being a subscriber. Which is... very very odd. (Exception being a fervent pvp player, but it really sucks, so I don't want more than 5 a week anyway) Pretty much all new gear. Endgame gear looks HORRIBLE. Seemingly Makeb even worse than plain TOR was. Cathar. Reputation systems. Holiday event items. Pretty much all new stuff coming with patches around every week. Only content if you give cc.
-
Nicely sums up my opinion. Maybe biased by how a botch-job EA and BioWare do with TOR, severly crushing my hope they can make a good new Star Wars game rather than reprise the Dragon Age 2 debacle and add it to KOTOR.

http://www.gog.com/promo/ea_weekend_promo_030513?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=game_subject&utm_campaign=ea_weekend_promo_030513 Got Dungeon Keeper 2 and Theme Hospital. Not sure if anything else suits me. But definitely a lot of good games there for cheap...

Generally get good groups. Of course, can steamroll all lvl 50 "Hard" Mode Flashpoints now, with 55's a plenty. Zbyl and me even dualled a H4 together on Coruscant with new characters. Definitely feels very easy now... And yes, keeping to one alignment will bite you in the ass since relics and other certain items generally require specific LS/DS ranks until the very late game. And they seem to have cut out the option to get end-game earpieces and implants with the 2.0 patch. Sucks for players getting to 50 (and not having the expansion).
-
Looks like Neverwinter Nights. And that's not a compliment, in case people wonder.
-
Just finished Spec Ops: The Line. Pretty nice story. Shame the gameplay isn't up to par for it (cover shooter). Honestly, what do people see in crappy cover-based shooting with regenerating health? Give me a Serious Sam kinda setup anyday over that crap. :/
-
I doubt Disney would do another TOR with the current one doing as it is, and with Titan as competition.
-
Yup, unless you unlearn it, it's restored at it's original level, with schematics if applyable. Got artifice 400 during my 1-month sub, lost it afterwards, unlocked with GTN purchase, and it was still the way I left it. And... I have no idea about the bundle, sorry :/
-
TOR gets worse with every patch, support is strechted super-thin and all the glarious bugs remain for months... :/ So that's not really a 'pro' for EA supporting.
-
Guess they are designed to need players working together. But using an alt yourself is muuuuuch more effective. If you ever end up on the Red Eclipse could show how a good group is XD
