SW: The Old Republic - Episode VI (The Old Menace)
Hassat Hunter replied to Gorth's topic in Computer and Console
Everyone does that... especially since those grey items are easily sold with the sell thrash button or your teammates. I got all my slots unlocked on all my chars (thank you CC-people putting that on the GTN ), and even then I can easily get it filled up The +gifts are really more useful than the +influence in conversation, since you spam the one more than the other. But for 10k (first tier) and 30k (second tier) I still get those 2 anyway. 3rd tier is too costly for it's effect, and I just use the gifts for that .- 505 replies

Fear: UIv2
Hassat Hunter replied to Sensuki's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
J.E. Sawyer said we got a repair system and items that degenerated on use. Look what happened there. And it makes the game so much better due to it. Can't really comment on the rest, no time to read it all, will read tonight or something- 184 replies

That's more the result of mass-procreation shortly after WW II, then that we really started to decrease it. I think that's more something going on in China...

Fear: UIv2
Hassat Hunter replied to Sensuki's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I completely disagree. And if the portraits are too small, increase their size? The art on them is very good from what I can tell, so there's no reason why not to. It sure beats the hell out of tiny pictures with silly bars next to them. Then they might aswell do stupid stuff like have 24/24HP under the portrait. And I hope OE's artists don't make that sucky an interface.- 184 replies

New Kickstarter incoming
Hassat Hunter replied to C2B's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I think someone missed the dev-post that teammates and dialogues aren't even written all yet. So no, definitely NOT the case for writers. -

Fear: UIv2
Hassat Hunter replied to Sensuki's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
That was the Baldur's Gate way. It worked fine till the BG2 endgame, when you got so many (de)buffs the entire portrait was filled with icons. But it should work just fine for PE, instead of taking more space under the portrait. All in all BG(2)'s UI was very efficient in the use of space, thinking outside the box of other RPG's who had their health bars etc.- 184 replies

You are aware that WE are the niche audience right? Not the console players... cause that's who these initiatives want to reach. And the thruth still remains, to control something like BG on a console you need to severly simpify controls and completely change the system to something which can no longer be recognised. Hence the current RPG's. And we didn't just pay 4 million or more just to get away from that fallacy, not let history repeat itself in it's self-destructive path...

Well, you know what they say about lazy people... they wont get Fallout for free. But now they might. You broke the saying

3XP is quite a bunch in Drakensang though... not as much XP going around as in most other RPG's, and that spider looks like a boss to boot. One of the good things of the games (which in general, are pretty avarage).
-
Well, they ARE. I can't imagine how hard it would be to make mods or bug-test without the console. And during Conquisitor beta (also on Unity) the console did help rectify issues (to workaround till the fix), identify issues (which is, as one can expect, vital) and similar such things. So yeah, if you get the impression cheats and consoles are added for the testers, you would be right. They're not just added for cheating gamers .

Kickstart Backer Badge
Hassat Hunter replied to Gfted1's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Well, there's the RPGCodex collective which some might find themselves too good for this board. As for the rest, well... no clue -
dibs on one of those, if any are available I'd rather trade with you then buy from InXile, if you don't mind Sure, only need had one copy reserved beyond the one for myself anyway so the rest are spare. Gonna have to remember to ask for a copy too over a year when it's finally released Never played Wastelands. Never heard of InXile before the KS... so really wasn't going to give them any money from the get-go. Also, have another kitty...

Fear: UIv2
Hassat Hunter replied to Sensuki's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Hmmm, people act like we got a new mockup yet? If so, that's news for me. We only got one official one, and according to the developers it's already been greatly changed. It would be nice to see the new mockup to confirm/deny our fears. Cause a good way to immediately make your 'BG spiritual successor' a pain-in-the-butt is by a horrid UI (I look at you Dragon Age).- 184 replies

Kickstart Backer Badge
Hassat Hunter replied to Gfted1's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Add me to the list of people missing it. It appears when viewing 'my profile' but it does not appear to the left of my posts. And I share the sentiment of other users there's more than enough space to have them next to each other, rather than under each other, and that would be preferenced since they do tend to lengten posts. -
Update #69: Pillars of Eternity
Hassat Hunter replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
Updated my pledge, was very easy and quick to do. Was planning to throw more money at Obsidian, but aside from the 2 I paid for with Kickstarter (Order and Expansion) I can't say any additional options where... interesting. The few friends I have already backed PE themselves, so additional copies needed, the beta is a wee bit too expansive (more so than the main game!) and I am pretty sure a few of the others were already included in my tier anyway. Not that I want a stategy book, I want to figure it all out myself. So the sad thruth turns out... you didn't get more money from me, even if such was my attention. :/- 488 replies

Fear: UIv2
Hassat Hunter replied to Sensuki's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Ehm, even without the EE, one is able to completely collapse the HUD. And yes, BG2's HUD is pretty slick, useful and good looking. Also while walking outside thought up a fix for the 'stamina bar' issue... since it's a long-term resource, and health a fight-resource how about; * During regular play the icon will get filled blue with stamina damage. The bluer, the more risk you get of being killed. * During combat the blue overlay dissapears and the red one (health appears). * After combat is over, you no longer need health info, and it goes back displaying stamina, probably slightly changed due to combat results. * If for whatever reason you need to look up Stamina in a battle (is there one?) you can still hover over the icon and get HP and Stamina information. Considering the way I have read stamina and health works, this should work perfectly, and completely removes the ugly red/blue or blue-bar issues all HUD mockups plagued to this day and are horrible beyond words...- 184 replies

Fear: UIv2
Hassat Hunter replied to Sensuki's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Click character on screen, attack by clicking mouse? Why would it have a button. If you mean a special attack or spell, still don't see why the icons should be on the character, since actually clicking on them to change characters is probably not the most common way to change anyway. It's more there for your information, and having it on the top-sides makes that more accessable than having to stare at the bottom of your screen (which is why most games plant it there in the first place). I fully expect special attacks being number-keyed anyway, so switching to fighter, pressing 1 then selecting target for example if you don't want to traverse to the bottom of the screen to press the first special attack. The portraits at the side will be mainly for information... if you start cluttering that with all kinds of buttons and actions, that easy acess information is gone. Probably considering Karkarov didn't really talked much about the combat log at all, I did however devoted a full paragraph to it. The result is still the same though, integrating the combat log into the HUD IWD2 style is a horrible idea and should not be done. It would be about the only 'floaty' UI element I would tolerate...- 184 replies
