Well, the lvl 15 trial was limiting... just one flashpoint (I think it was flashpoint... just before leaving to the main planet on the central zone thingie). It got stale on the second run... So yeah.

I don't think you noticed Eleronds post? Objectives != Quests So even the XP between ones that do all side-quests various, depending how thorough they are in their exploration. Also "just main quest" - "all content ingame" is so big a gap, it might aswell be 60% of the XP gain in game (taking into account there is more XP to be gained than the cap). Should be pretty uncalculatable to me. And it's pretty easy either way to know how much XP you finish the game with if you try to do as much as possible, as it will be exactly [XP cap].

I don't like unlockable difficuly settings. Examples; Mass Effect 1. Worst case ever: Diablo III (not that I played it, but everyone says the first run is casual and only the second better. That has to be the worst design ever I heard about...) -
There probably will be nudity portrait characters created though (since they probably still are handcrafted, not horrible 3D representations). So easy to fill those slots for that need. Then again there are millions of potential pics to use for that slot/purpose. Also pretty sure they said a modkit would be released right? Or did I read wrong? If not, we should hope for some decent toolmakers. Modding KOTOR(2) goes fine with what some excellent people made up to help us with...

Quests & Roleplay

Much better time spend than low-int dialogue, and that's in... Vote up from me -
TOR's F2P is the best F2P system around... all of the good stuff is free, you need to pay for the crap. I suspect many SP RPG's (like me) will (like me) play it now for the story. Which is all they wanted. But not pay $15 a month for. And now it's not just $50 (a new KOTOR) but entirely free. That it's nowhere near the level of KOTOR1 (let stand KOTOR2) can be slightly forgiven by it, well, being free. And what do you need to pay for? MP sillyness like PvP or raids. I don't think the crowd that wasn't into TOR yet is really the crowd interested to that. So I doubt many subscriptions will be sold. And this might turn the worst F2P attempt in MMORPG history. Only time will tell. For me, I don't really look forward to DA3. We'll see if it's a trainwreck or not when it arrives in the station.

Good point. @ Sacred... downside to that, it's... pretty much like IE again then, with Stealth getting the shaft. I'm pretty sure the devs where aiming to change that this time around. And one can hardly stealth the entire team. So getting past enemies undetected with the whole team will be difficult (as it should be). Which is another good reason to award XP for getting to point X instead of for "sneaking past an enemy", which may be just the rogue, instead of the full party.

Pretty much this... -
No objections here. Could be definite cons and pros to killing vs. leaving people alive, adding replayability and responsiveness.

Sure, I would want to see all that. Also, the more concept art they can get in the game, the better xD

Still not sure where you guys are getting that from. I barely see anyone stating that as reason to go pro-objective based XP, however numerous people try to paint us off as "you have a crusade against powergaming. You want to imply your game on others" Could someone please explain me this faulty deduction? Or is it part of some plot to discredit us using what are blatently lies? Solutions while sound in theory, are impossible to integrate in reality. Especially awaring "sneaking past an enemy" is impossible to detect. There is a reason all games just check if you ghosted to a specific section for the reward instead of doing so per individual enemy. Heck, some you may never encounter (most likely if sneaking). Would they be unrewarded? Also definitely most modern games lack severe diplomatic XP awards. They may have some, but they are generally less rewarding than just murdering everyone in sight. Hah. I still have to see one better solution posted yet. Noooope. This one essentially is true. Allowing to farm and/or grind are repetitive and boring occassions. Making the game heavily rely on it may be good for Diablo, but not for a game like PE. Hence, the less we need to resort to grind and thrashmobs, the better the game for everyone. Also, from a developers point of view grinding would be bad since it makes the expected power level of the player vary much more. Making balancing of encounters and the game more difficult. You should be able to deduct an avarage power-level of all gamers depending on wheter they just went the main quest, did several sidethings, or went full-out exploring every nook and cranny. Without having to take into account overpowering those players with re-appearing bunches of experience. The less level-scaling in the game the better, and this would help towards that goal. More control for the developer, a better suited game for the player. Win/win. I am bothered that I know people out there love a different style than me and are obstructed in properly executing it by gameplay restrictions put upon them by an old archaic system. If I was bothered by them playing different, why support a system that makes all playstyles equally viable, not tipping the side over to one or the other? It wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to do so... I'm still waiting for you to cross-examinate my posts for their "invalidations", rather than just ignoring them or strawmanning them as "you just hate powergaming." I'm here, waiting. For all the fallacies. And ready to support them. Or update them if they really are defective. Just, tell me what's flawed. Go on. You do realise stealth was pretty bad in BG and one of the major pointers of Objective based XP is making stealth visable too, right? I am not sure what exactly 'fixing stealth exploit' is part of that... :/ Anyway, not sure why I even bother... pretty sure Gatt9 is going to ignore me anyway and tell me how I try to force my gameplay style on others...

It does however require developers to balance the game twice, instead of once. And balancing can be a hard task to do. I rather they spend it in more important areas. Especially with the limited funds and resource at their disposal. -

:Not sure if serious: BG2, IceWind Dale. Don't recall if they appear in other IE games too. I seriously doubt you can succeed at that without creating a 500 page manuscript. Heck, some discussions like on the XP and armor already have about 30 pages of long responses and suggestions alone... -

That's... not how stamina works :/ I think the naming makes many people confused about it's purpose. I can understand that though, with how stamina usually works in games.

That would have been Mass Effect. Hence being commonly called the "Mass Effect wheel"... DA:O had a good system for conversation, before DA2 ruined it and much more. Shame, since I really liked DA:O... :/
