  1. Seriously, this video answer every question you might possibly have about a Wizard.
  2. Pretty sure Cuphead was made by an US studio
  3. Well I can't disagree with this post. Makes sense now. Though the fact is, Baldur's Gate story is technically over, to continue with the same hero would be just like beating a dead horse. Nothing is stopping them from making another character a hero, tho. To be fair, I don't mind that they're making BG3. In my book, the more games like these, the better. Honestly I don't care if it's amazing or not, I'll buy it anyway.
  4. It has the best cRPG combat ever. Would be even better if all per-rest abilities were changed to per-encounter. I am sick and tired of having to rest to restore spells, because my god-like Wizard forgot how to cast Magic Missile (apparenly he's an effing Pokemon!?) and needs to go to sleep to remember it! So stupid. This game has issues, but combat is not one of them.
  5. Oh hey, I remember a build like that was fantastic in NWN. I was thinking something along the lines of Pala 2/Sorc 4/RDD 4/EK 10, but I'm having some trouble balancing offensive stats with AC.
  6. I don't see why do you feel the need to blame anything to be honest. And to answer your question: because people are afraid that sequel will not be as good as the original. It has nothing to do with nostalgia, it's common in game and movie industry that sequels are simply objectively worse (there are of course exceptions). I've finished FF7 fully 14 times in total. It's one of my favourite jRPG game ever made, and it was brilliant, but it did not create a new type of games like Baldur's Gate did. The combat was a copy-paste not only of all previous FF games, but also most other jRPG created at that point in time. You don't have to look far: Final Fantasy 6 had better story and characters (the game literally had a fantasy version of a nuclear holocaust in the middle of a playthrough) overall, but FF7 did a much better job at playing the player's emotions. So was Chrono Trigger. Cinematics? Sure, so cool, except that summon cinematics could not be skipped, and **** like KOTR had a loooong summon cinematic, so it was fun for the first few summons, and an effing chore after that. The graphics tried to be awesome, but models were just a bunch of huge, ugly squares. Also, who the hell rates the game by graphics? Look at Final Fantasy 8. It was a huge graphical improvement over FF7, but the game sucked ass because everything else was bad.
  7. I found a great way to handle the bugs. Especially late-game bugs. I keep restarting the game because I'm undecided on what I want to play as the MC :D
  8. Can you stop blaming everything on nostalgia already? Baldur's Gate was a fantastic game, and it's still very fun to play. It had its own share of issues, like every game ever made, but it combined great storytelling with memorable characters. This game pretty much created the RTWTP genre type of games, and you say it's not "revolutionary". But Final Fantasy 7 apparently is, even though its gameplay is a copy of 30 other jRPG games made before it :D :D (and when it comes to story depth, it's not even the top FF game out there, and that's excluding FF8 and above) You're the one who's blinded by some silly hate. You're not a god damn mind reader, and your word is not law, so please stop behaving like a redneck already and accept that there are many people who consider Baldur's Gate to be a good game because it's a good game. Or don't. I don't think anyone cares. Which is why I'm hoping that they get Star Wars license after the deal with EA expires, but that would probably be too amazing.
  9. That sort of music makes me sleepy. Even if it is pretty.
  10. What's the complaint here? That it's not fun? Here's an idea: try the boss again, but this time beat him without using the combo you mentioned. Issue solved, you're welcome.
  11. To be fair, Sword Coast Legends was not only bad because the system was too simplified, everything in this game was Average at best. Like story or companions (I don't remember a single name..).
  12. Because Deadfire was released with no bugs at all :D The biggest reason is that the hardest difficulty level (>LITERALLY< called "Unfair", so you kinda know what to expect) kicked everyone's asses to the moon and back. Players couldn't handle it, lost bragging rights, and had to vent somehow. You have to know the system inside out and play a well powergramed, custom group, not story companions (who are really bad). That's how highest difficulty should look like, but ezmode games like Deadfire spoiled everyone. One thing that the game doesn't prepare you for is that without any knowledge about PnP (at least D&D 3.5 if not Pathfinder), you will have a bad time, because it's very easy to completely mess up your character.
  13. Kukris are better if you went Knifemaster. I hope you did :D Sai are even better if you also take a Monk level because then you can use Flurry of Blows.
  14. The problem with custom companions is that they don't talk, I find that quite difficult to RP.
  15. Note that this character starts dishing out pain at level 6, you might want to consider getting Rogue levels earlier. Personally I combined this build with Monster Tactician with Animal Domain. Took Inquisitor 4 first (to get the pet), then Rogue 3, Monk 1, then spam Inq levels. Make sure to pick up Augment Summoning and Boon Companion before your melee combat feats. You get a summoner with a pet and strong melee damage. Maybe it overheats
  16. There is one, but your kingdom can still get destroyed from using it! However, in a recent patch, they made a toggle that makes your kingdom indestructible. What? The whole point of Auto is that it makes it impossible for you to lose your Kingdom. I think it even says so in the description of this mode. Indestructible was added for people who want to manage the Kingdom but don't want to lose because they're bad at it
  17. I just put Kingdom on Auto and enjoy everything else
  18. Can't argue with that, you really need to know what you're doing during character creation. Fortunately, there are plenty of guides around, but I feel bad for more casual players who don't look things up.
  19. OwlCat forums ban you when you register an account. I'm not even kidding :D Both games have advantages. One big advantage of Pathfinder is that its using an established ruleset, not an original one, which means that I will not one day wake up to a patch that effs up balance because the developer did not drink enough coffee in the morning. And I can play anything I want, not worrying that my class will suddenly become useless because balunz.
  20. The content is a bit mismatched though. I mean, there's a Lich on the map with kobolds, uber-strong Wererats near your Act 1 quest areas, or Enraged Owlbears (and a group of a high level Fey) on a map that otherwise has mostly wolves. The zones don't have a consistent difficulty and I really dislike that, because it feels like a step back even compared to the first Baldur's Gate game.
  21. I'm not playing on Unfair, I'm playing on Hard. It was a decent experience until you leave the prologue. After that it's just complete bull. Build optimization is extremely important, straight up mandatory, if you play on anything higher than Normal. This system IS complicated and requires knowledge or good YouTube resource. Story companions are complete and utter ****, but if you want to use them, you better know how to polish the turd that they are with a proper build development path. This is the same for the main character. If you need any tips, consider adding an Inquisitor Monster Tacticial with an Animal domain to your group, or as a main hero. That class gets both many uses of Summon Monster spell AND an Animal Companion, additionally it spreads all party-wide Feats to the monsters making them very deadly. There are also many other options available. Generally, for anyone that is struggling with builds, I highly recommend Nerd Game Commando YouTube channel.
  22. And yet somehow you don't really see people mistaking "beach" with.. you know what :D
