I think many buys it on GoG, myself included because it's cheaper there. Id assume that it has sold quite well for a CRPG, I mean it's not a CoD or BF title that every kid plays :D

I disagree, if you don't balance classes and nerf super OP abilities and then you balance POTD around those classes and abilities then all other classes and abilities will become non-viable. Class balance is not only important in MMOs.

Yeah imo the biggest downer is the difficulty. However, if you play only one character it feels better in terms of difficulty. I've died a few times so far on my solo veteran playthrough. Depending on your class selection I suppose,I tried a solo chanter/ranger but summons and pet made it too easy and cheesy.

Yeah this is really discouraging and also very suprising considering that the game has had beta testers who probably also played the first game. I sincerely hope that Obsidian realises the importance of this and really make a good effort to fix it. In the meantime I'd suggest you guys who play games to also activate ur brain to play solo or with a max of 1 companion. Alltho this might not make much difference in the late game if armour and pen is as bonkers as its stated here in this thread.

Gameplay and tactical combat is more important to me then story and exploration. So imo a great and beautiful game will become boring if combat is too easy. Sadly this is the sole reason why I couldn't finish or even start a DLC on TW3 even tho I absolutely loved the story and the world. Same with both D:OS games. Just stopped playing em on the last acts because combat became a "press one spell and win". This is ofc with the hardest settings. So hopefully my two character playthrough on veteran here will be interesting enough until they fix POTD.

Well I couldn't resist buying the game any longer, so in the meantime I plan on doing a two character playthrough on veteran.

Yep I'm with whiskiz, I haven't bought the game yet for the same exact reason. I have longed for this game cuz PoE1 is one of my favorite games ever so I rather wait until everything is properly working then diving into it now. And difficulty is a very important factor, steamrolling through a game such as this would just ruin the whole thing completely. So OP do yourself a favor and go play something else for a while

Cool thanks, ill go there as soon as i have had Azzuro sell me Scwath Gannek. He is really testing my patience, ive been traveling back and forth for 2 hours straight. At first he wouldnt ever appear, when he finally did it took him ages again to show up again. Meanwhile ive had to defend my stronghold countless times, undead Raedric armies included... Now he keeps offering me Gyrges Guantlets. Im about to explode Yeah it's a pain. I would shoot for Hiro's Mantle over Scath Gwannek - you mentioned you were using Sura's Supper Plate so I presume you haven't gotten it yet? Larder Door is easily good enough as a Bash shield (though Gwannek is better for the spell binding), so I wouldn't pull your hair out too much trying to get it so long as you already have another source of Retaliation. In terms of getting Azzuro's items, what I always used to do was save at the Caed Nua with a pile of cash, play until that's depleted through stronghold turns - then reload and try again. It's very tedious, but it works - obviously it's entirely random how long you'll be waiting for (I think pressing R brings up the rest menu, and if you position your mouse right to click on a Bright Hollow rest plus hit return when the rest thing pops up so it selects to rest you can speed the process up a lot). If you push your stronghold security to above 50, attacks on your stronghold become practically nonexistent. Yeah i'm on xbox so chain-resting is a lot slower then that hehe =) I finally got it but i feel like i am loosing dmg by using a bash shield, the bash itself takes a full recovery turn and its really weak attack, meaning im hitting enemies way less with my spear now. The only Strike ability i have so far is Blind so using bash just for that feels a little "meh". Does "Two Weapon Style" work when ur using a bash shield btw? It should because the bash is using a full weapon turn individually to bash. I dont think i want Hiros Mantle because i am using Cloak Of Comfort (yeah not a "true" solo run i know i know ) because i have a companion in Caed Nua to do the missions and deal with supplicants. Btw, i noticed ur not using Vulnerable Attack on this build. U think i should specc out of it? On Xbox if i Stun something that is already stunned it will cancel out the other stun and the game will say "stunned" on the enemy even tho he is not stunned. So i cannot chain-stun. Same thing with Prone effect... Sigh, i should never have bought it on console.. Edit: Because of this i am considering trying out Purgatory and maybe drop Veterans Recovery for something else.

Thanks, yeah i am solo and im using the Munacra Arret I'll give the white march a try then.

I am lvl 10 now with the spear and suras supper plate. I've run into the same problem i had with my solo Barb. I dont know where to progress, ive been lvl 10 for ages now. Skaen Temple destroys me with all their spells so i assume bountys are still a no-go. I have not been to White March yet tho, lvl 10 a good lvl to go start white march? The Areas around twin elms have really nasty enemies too so i wanna get to higher lvls before i tackle those Adragans and Greater Wind Blights.. =/ Dunno where to go...

I wish u'd update on console too. Its tripple the price for a much older version of the game.

The Mourning Gloves adds 10% attackspeed when u kill an enemy, stacks with itself up until u have reached zero recovery and the attack speed never wears off.

I think we are way past the point where they would fix or patch anything. On Xbox for example "one handed style" is still "hit to graze".

Well the stacking is not my issue, the zero recovery is my issue. Sort of breaks the game to use those gloves as they are.

Yeah i dread the Battery =/ I recieved the mourning gloves from Caed Nua just 30min ago. They looked great with this rogue build so i went ahead and equipped it and then went into the character screen to check if anything was suppressed by it and both Ring of Protection and Cloak of comfort was now suppressed. "What a shame" i thought but then noticed that my stats had'nt changed. So i went ahead to kill something to see if the bonus recieved by the kill would stack but i noticed that it didnt, stats were unchanged. However, i noticed a very significant difference in my offensive power lol. These gloves put me at zero recovery for some unexplainable reason O_o. Are they also bugged on PC? So saddening!

Yeah the draining+wounding+dual dmg types really make it a fantastic weapon. Since i fear Durgans Battery way more then i fear endless paths i consider durgan Steel more endgame then drawn in spring so the drawback for me about Tidefall is the slow speed and all the interrupts that come with it.

Thank you Jojobobo that is good to know. Playing a solo rogue atm heavily inspired by this build. I am enjoying it a lot and i am currently on lvl 9. It is however not a "pure" solo because i have a couple of companions parked in Caed Nua. I really really wanted binding rope and cloak of comfort How early would u reckon i could go and get Barricade Shield? Currently using Suras supper plate but i really really want that Barricade shield :D

A sword and shield wizard. For that bounty fight on lvl 7 tho i had to use munacra acra for distractions and the summoned blight weapon because i didnt have enough spells to kill them all. But multiple chillfogs + open wounds is really OP before u get really hard hitting stuff.

Up until this point i didnt think Llengrath’s Displaced Image and scroll of defense would stack. This a bug? Cuz as far as i know spell/scroll shouldnt stack with pots. If ur playing this solo, how do u get that particular spear? Been 1.5 years but as far as i can remember u had to place companions on specific locations to get it? Or am thinking about something else?

Sry for necroing but i didn't want to start another thread. Is Tidefall dps better then two Drawn in spring? What are your thoughts on a dual weilding ranger? With the addidional 20% atk speed from Swift aim ud have an easy time to reach zero recovery, right?

Yeah i am giving up on this one, im stuck at lvl 10 with no progress. I'm 10 and i cant even kill the first few bountys. I just tried The Dweller like 5 times in a row so now i am super frustrated, meanwhile my solo wizard killed the Dweller on lvl 7.... lvl 7!! I've tried with a high DPS dual weild barb with on crit effect gear and ive tried a tanky barb with Scwath Gannek shield with 90+ deflection. None work because dmg output is not high enough to outlive them on neither build. Now i wonder if Riposte rogue would do better, because i get sick of all the resting with the casters.

That was the most awesome display of power i have ever seen in a game! WOW!

It does not have to be solo for me, i have yet to finish the whole game. I like to play solo through ACT1 tho and might pick up a smaller party somewhere in ACT2. Might try and turn Hiravanas into a tank . His CCs alone would make everything a lot easier.
