Well, the problem is that some spells are better or less situational than others for most builds. A Wizard build that uses Penetrating Shot and Combusting Wounds will probably still spam Minoletta's throught all game, while a controler or melee Wizard wouldn't pick them at all. On the other hands, that ice-based first level Touch spell, or even most touch spells, won't be used no matter the levelbor number of uses.

Knock down us thankfully not ground based. And evil jellies are imune to all prone effects, not only ground ones, so they are still safe from it. If Spectres are corporeal enough to hurt with normal weapons, and have an obvious "standing" position, nothing stops a fighter from knocking them out of it. Whatever that would be of any use or not is somewhat disputable, but I like the indirect buff to CC from Fighters, Monks and unique weapons.

Woah - suddenly, I'm pretty bad
DreamWayfarer replied to CybrSlydr's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Oh. Sorry. If it helps, next patch will add a "story time" difficulty, that is like an inverse Path of The Damned, where the enemies are not only less numerous, but weaker, for those who wish only to enjoy the story. Said patch is already available on beta for Steam users. -

Have you considered lowering the difficult level? This game was made to require a lot of micro-managing. -
Favorite NPC moments
DreamWayfarer replied to Mocker22's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
A new favorite moment: Durance and Aloth talking about Iselmyr, and Durance is being Durance as usual. But in the end: D:"She has backbone, that woman. Does it scare you?" A:"No, but I won't be responsible for what happens if you call her 'whore'." I just wish Aloth and Iselmyr could learn how to make peace with one another somehow, because I am sure she likes when he tells Durance to stop being so Durance. -
Honestly, the common room of the Black Hound is probably worse than some ancient ruins out there. But I guess I understand what you mean, that you see the survival bonuses are representing the product of something you do in the wilds during the rest period, like... I don't know, brewing tea from weeds you find around the roads?

The highest test I've seem is what, 19 RES? You can reach that with a human and an enchanted armor, using the head and neck slots for INT and PER. Going with 17 RES, 16 INT, 16 PER, and using a Torc of Falcon's eyes, Dunryd Demon helmet and RES enchanted armor you can have all attribute based dialogues I can think of, except intimidation ones that depend on MIG. You could dump DEX and put extra points into MIG to have a decent Paladin char, if you don't mind having to roleplay in an especific way. Or an off-tank Chanter.

Wait, so by resting in the woods with survival knowledge you can get faster, but by resting in a inn you can't, because forests are magical and you can't replicate said magic in a town? Ideally, survival bonuses should apply only when in wilderness areas, but since that is not the case I have nothing against getting them after sleeping in an inn.

Kana is generaly built as a gunner, yes? Well, if there is no Ranger or Cipher in your party, you could give him outlander's frenzy, some ranged talents and perhaps Prestidigitator's Missiles to make him into a decent backline supporter that zaps foes with Stormcaller while frenzied and kills casters with Missiles of various kinds with penetrating shot.

My wish
DreamWayfarer replied to Joculari's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I never really liked the armor and weapons in Skyrim. They don't imitate real armor from any time period or place I know of for the most part, yet often felt too generic to leave a lasting impression in my mind and lacked variety. -

Nice armors. Seem more early medieval for me, but still very nice and mostly down-to-earth, even if not necessarily realistic.
