  1. - Will you rework unarmed combat, namely Novice's Suffering and Transcendent Suffering? The way it is done now results in nearly the same damage for grazes, hits an crits because all damage modifiers only apply to the whimpy base damage and not to the bonus that the Suffering talents will give you. This also makes things like Savage Attack, Sneak Attack and all other base damage modifiers a bad pick for unarmed characters. - Will there be throwing weapons? - Wouldn't it be better if chaining commands (shift+click) would result in a visible queue or something like that? - Will you allow to enchant other items than weapon, armor & shield? Like headgear perhaps? Pretty please?
  2. I think it's kind of bad. What's not to like? Let's say you did a PoTD run, then another, then another one. You will get better and better with this game because your meta knowledge will grow, you will grasp all the mechanics and tricks, you will figure out game breaking builds and so on. AND you will have more attribute points and high level items to make the game even more boring. I can see that options like "make the game harder" make sense, but keeping items or even gain more attribute points seems to be a bad idea. What they could do is to unlock cool new designs for equipment, alternative effects for spells (green fireball or whatever), style enchantments, secret companions or pets for the new playthroughs and so on. That would motivate me to play another round. No getting more attribute points or starting with Blade of the Endless Paths, Acuan Giamas or Twin Sting. Feels cheesy. But that's just my opinion.
  3. Erm - I just stated my opinion in a rather unemotional way and hope others do, too. It's a way for OBS to see if things they made up are getting positive or negative feedback. I never said they shouldn't do it, just that I don't like the idea (especially as a stretch goal). This may even change if they specify their ideas for Berath's Blessing. But what I heard so far doesn't appeal to me. Nobody has to agree to that.
  4. I also don't like it. PoE is not Dark Souls or Faster than Light. To keep some items would be ok for me, but especially the part where you get more attribute points repelled me.
  5. And wield a single one handed weapon in order to get the +12 ACC to the chant. Don't know why, but true story!
  6. That's why you should cast it on a barbarian. Heart of Fury with reaping knives and you will have focus overflow.
  7. So tell them we are a bit pissed. If they add some new islands anyway a single additional backer island should be easy to fit in.
  8. You can give the paladin Coordinated Attacks and Shame or Glory. He can buff any other party member's acc by 20 stackable points. Helps a lot against dragons. Then you could take a monk with focus on high move speed and The Long Pain who can bodyguard the rogue a bit. Give him Durance's Staff. Once he gets 2 wounds summon the Long Pain and fire away at stuff. With Force of Anguish and the ACC buff from priest and paladin he has good chances to cause long prones on dragons. Against mobs he will have great AoE damage via Torment's Reach and single target damage of The Long Pain is insane. Against crush immune foes use Durance's Staff which has burn as secondary damage type and can also be used from second row (reach). Great char to have in the party. Zahua works very well with this.
  9. Yes. Additional accuracy is a good thing for wizards - higher move speed is also very beneficial for them.
  10. A priest who focuses on buffing and healing needs no accuracy bonuses. And if he's in the back row and is not too squishy, he also doesn't need those healing bonsus very badly. So he can skip survival altogether (or only take a few points). Lore is also not necessary because priests already have great spells like prayers and the damaging scrolls are bad for them (as long as they are not self buffing all the time) because they have terrible base accuracy right from the start. So, pumping mechanics on a supporter priest can be a good thing without too many drawbacks. If your priest is build in an offensive way then it's not a smart move though. Plus: DUrance has a bonus right from the start. I guess because of being a priest of Magran and so on.
  11. Not only then. The bash has lower ACC than the main weapon (even though it gets +1 per level since it's considered to be an ability), you can't enchant the bash damage or pimp it otherwise and even though the speed of the bash attack is faster than that of the main hand: it still slides between your normal main weapon attacks (which does a lot more damage) and delays them. The very low damage of bash (that nearly always results in MIN damage) is not enough to make up for that delay. That's what I meant when I said that bash should do at least the same damage as the main weapon to be of use. Then it would clearly result in a dps increase: the attacks would come faster because bash recovery is shorter. Can't say where the break even point is though. Maybe you can with your data at hand.
  12. - Cat o'nine tails as a (unique) weapon. Nine independently rolled hits with low damage, but very high combined damage against 0 DR. Basically the melee blunderbuss. - A subclass that uses summons or a periodic spell (like Returning Storm) that releases auto seaking weapons (like spider mines from Torchlight's Engineer class - loooved that). - A subclass that uses animancy + engineering or whatever to create cool "vessel" attachments to armor. Like an additional arm (could mean additional weapon slot for example), a scorpion's tail (retaliation), a warning eye on the back of the helmet (deflection bonus), wings (don't ask my what that could be good for, maybe a dragon leap) and so on.
  13. That's right. I also heard that during the last live stream.
  14. It will be so much fun. I'm ready to put on my dark under-eye circles...
  15. Yes, it would work. The only fiddly thing might be the combination of bashing (chance of crush retaliation on miss/graze) and normal retaliation (pierce retaliation on graze/hit/crit). You would have double retaliation on grazes. Maybe it should be a 100% crush retaliation when you get missed? It would be supergreat with low level mobs but wouldn't be very powerful against tougher, more accurate foes - without having any negative effect whatsoever. Let's see what Josh thinks about bashing after reading this. Thanks draego and Feargus for leading Josh to this thread.
  16. I still like the idea of the Nalpacza monk, but you have a point there.
  17. Sure. That would be awesome. Maybe you should suggest that in the PoE2:Deadfire/General Discussion forum and see how the resonance is. It's a nice idea - but it will not be patched into PoE1 anymore because that one is finished.
  18. It's too bad that the cipher gains two absolutely awesome spells with that power level. Reaping Knives (on a friendly barb) is so much fun and Mindweb is so useful. Never know which one I want to cast more often.
  19. My approach: For barb: always survial. I try to reach 14 in order to get +60% healing bonus when I need it and also have a good acc bonus at hand if I need it. Atheltics is useless for me because it takes too long to cast and recover and the barb has enough other possible sources of healing (draining, Savage Defiance, Veteran's Recovery, Shod-in-Faith boots and so on). I can't emphasize too much on how awesome +60% healing is when combined with +25% from an item and high might. Mechanics I usually give to a rogue. If there's no rogue I will give it to a wizard or a priest - especially when it's a buffing/healing priest with low PER.
  20. In theory yes. In practice however it would be hard to pull off because as well as doing low damage compared to proper weapons, bash shields also can't get any damage improving enchants like Exceptional, Beast Slayer or (most importantly) a Lash. This means you'd either have to balance them to be worthwhile when paired with a relatively unenchanted weapon, in which case they'd be terrible when paired with something heavily enchanted; or you balance them for use with heavily enchanted weapons, in which case they'd be a big boost with low tier weapons.Yes - it would be very difficult to balance with the PoE1 mechanics. Also, making it faster will still result in dps loss unless you push the damage further. It already is pretty fast. Adding some kind of utility seems to be the easiest way. The retaliation idea also makes sense and would solve the problem.
  21. We should remind OBS after some time. Just to be sure they didn't forget. Or hey - maybe it's possible in an expansion.
  22. Well, adra grows. So I think it's possible to reconnect severed structures.
  23. Thanks guys. I'm flattered. I think a pinned build list like AndreaColombo did in the PoE1/charbuild forum would be sufficient.
  24. It does since Brisk Recitation was introduced. At least on PoTD the chanter is a hell of a class - even without Dragon Thrashed. At high levels tier 1 phrases are so fast that you build up resources in short time.
