Right - a Sniper only wants to tickle you. He's not looking to end you with high precision and impact. That's why a Sniper always aims for your belly and uses toothpicks with some cotton as fletching. Your statement that a Paladin does not work well as sniper is plain wrong. We don't need to discuss this further. Arcane Archer/Bleak Walker with Spearcaster and Ring of Focused Flame and Scion of Flame has unbelievable precision and high dmg per shot. One great way to build a sniper. And there's a Paladin in it.

I generally agree when it comes to "normal" weapons that only have lashes. For weapons which do direct elemental damage I don't know. For example Firebrand is a weapon made of fire and only does burn damage. I think it's totally reasonable to put a fire keyword on that. Same as Minor Blights. I'd also say a Decay keyword on Rot Skulls will make sense. Acid on Cadebald's Blackbow, shock on Fury's natural weapons - that makes sense. Weapons with dual damage like Essence Interrupter don't scream "shock keyword!" to me though. Certainly not Dragon's Dowry and also not Sun and Moon although it fits thematically. The additional effects might be candidates for a keyword but I don't know if it's possible to decouple that.

Did you keep in mind that stuff like Silver Tide now gains +2+2+2+5 = +11(!) PL from Staff of Thicket Green on a Lifegiver? I really think it was not a design philosophy to put class-specific keywords (Rejuvenation, Restoration, Decay, Shred etc.) on abilities that transcend classes (Silver Tide, Ancestor's Memory...). If Obsidian wished to do that they would have used a more general "healing" keyword I this case. So... class specific keywords should stay in their class (would be nice if "borrowed" spells like Sunbeam on a Priest would also respect that and remove Elements but add Punishment - like you did). Universal keywords (fire, freeze, shock etc.) can be used all over the place since they were invented for it. Generally I think that keywords are a bit of a mess. There's Decay (class specific) AND Acid/Corrode and Elements and Fire and they all overlap weirdly. But it is what it is. One has to be careful not to put too many keywords onto one ability even if it fits thematically because PL (or other bonuses based on keywords) stacking can become a game breaking thing. Because of that I'm not entirely sure about Cleansing Flame (as example). That's looots of keywords. But all I all that looks much nicer than before.

More Hardwood + Round Holes = Lots of Scoring in Basketball 2K19

Poor Dirk. -
Monk/Bloodmage has some nice synergies in terms of spell dmg because of +MIG (Helwalker only) and also Enduring Dance and Thunderous Blows. But you have to be really really extra careful when using Blood Sacrifice when you are at 10 Wounds as a Helwalker. +50% dmg and +30% from MIG makes Blood Sacrifice deadly. I would advise to spend the wounds before doing that.
-
If you put him into thicker armor (combined with Iron Wheel) and don't use Helwalker it's ok. But monks don't have self heals. So you might want to bring some external healing. If you like a tanky Bloodmage I guess Arcane Knight might be the answer. Or Battlemage. Or even Troubadour/Bloodmage (Ancient Memory)...?

Velvet Glove, Brass Fist
Boeroer replied to DiabloStorm's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Because you are in the Brass Citadell and most people there belong to the RDC - like Hamuto does. They could have left out the Orlan merchant though (if she joins in the first place). Besides that "justification': I managed to kill Hamuto several times without anyone else aggroing. So there seems to be a way (or seemed to have been). -
I want to add that I like the synergy if Blood Mage and Monk. Blood Sacrifice gives you plenty of wounds which then can be used to fuel Iron Wheel. +10 CON is no joke. You might want to say that the +10 would be better. But in this case I prefer +10 CON (and 2.5 AR). Because I can get +5 INT from Enlightened Clarity or Infuse wVE. Since a Sage likes his self buffs the procedure thelee describes also comes pretty natural: self-buff -> Blood Sacrifice. You get buffed up and are full of wounds. In this context I also like Corrosive Siphon. Blood Mage users don't mention it too much, but in combo with Dazzling Lights + Pull of Eora I find it pretty nice? Not an Assassin/Bloodmage of course... But in general CON is not a bad stat for Blood Mage. I even tried to stack health bonuses and regeneration gear (Amulet of Greater Health, Ring of Regeneration, Three Trolls Stitched, Tough and so on) and it really makes a difference until the flat bonuses fall a bit... flat in the late game.
-
Deflection bonuses have increasing returns. So a +5 passive doesn't need to scale to stay good. 5 deflection is as valuable in the late game as it is in the early game. You wouldn't want to scale deflection bonuses on other abilities either. They all stay flat. The only exceptions are items which improve the bonus through quality or skill upgrade.

I was speaking about Witcher 1 (one). I didn't play Witcher 3 so I can say nothing about it. That's why I didn't. "I never understood why the naval combat in Deadfire, even if it is annoying, is brought up as an argument against the game. It makes a minor part and can be skipped." I marked the important part with bold letters. Another answer could be: "Because I don't want to play a game that's developed by guys who see women as collectibles." Could be. Will not be the case for most players, but I'm sure it's not hard to understand.

If there are only unique onces I see no reason why every Pries or Druid should have one? After all all trinkets except most grimoires are unique and rare. If there were 5 unique priest-only trinktes and 5 druid-only ones that could probably already be enough to cause a bit of relief. Also: in recent patches where new uniques were presented (besides items that were tied to a DLC) Obsidian didn't exatly put a ton of effort into placing them in most meaningful ways. Essence Interrupter and others just got placed into some merchant's inventories. So I can't see why this should suddenly be a reason not to introduce some more uniques that imprive gameplay for two classes. Besides that there are some temples in the Deadfire: perfect place to place some trinkets. Oathbinder's Sanctum (I'm sure there are some containers), Berath's Temple, Gaun's Temple and so on. You also have enough places that are druid-themed (Sayuka, Cauldron place and so on). All in all I see no problem. Just don't overdo it, that's all.

I read the books long time ago, they were okish afair. The games I don't like too much. I usually don't like RPGs where your role is fixed and you don't have a real character creation. After all I come from Pen & Paper Roleplaying. I remember that I couldn't finish Witcher and finished Witcher 2 once. I didn't even try Witcher 3. What I disliked most about the Witcher 1 was the "collectible romances" that seem to have been scripted by a 15-year old whose puperty hormons came out of his ears. That - or it was a forty-year-old repressed virgin with no access to proper porn. Iirc that was not the tone of Sapkowski's books(?).

D:OS 2 is not for me because I don't like the style and the tone. The original also had a somewhat cheeky tone, but it wasn't that blatant and not that "comicesque". I tried to play it for a while (I also backed it and would do it again - as I did with D:OS) but I really don't like it. I cringed... I also didn't like the combat nechanics. I don't doubt that it's an objectively good game though. I think multiplayer as one of the reasons why it sold well. Imagine Diablo II without Battle.net. I mean D:OS 2 is not an action RPG, but still: a good multiplayer attracts (younger) folks I guess. I personally prefer to play my games alone and spend my other "real world" time in company - but I think there are enough people who like to do the opposite. I stil think the setting has a big impact (besides weak marketing). Tyranny is not a bad game (also I don't like that too much as well - at least I finished it twice) but it also has an uncommon setting (more pre-medieval, "be evil!" and that sort of stuff). And it has no multiplayer as well. Of course those can only be parts of the puzzle - if they are at all. I'm somwehat special when it comes to my likes of computer games. For example I really like Blackguards - although I guess it's considered to be a pretty mediocre game. I love Legend of Grimrock I and don't like Legend of Grimrock II. I digged FTL for (let's see...) 403 hours but only put 70 into "Into the Breach" although I think it's the better game (mechanically). I didn't really like Torchlight I but liked Torchlight II. I loved Diablo I and especially II (because -funnily enough I was playing it with friends online - but friends who were sitting beside me and bropught their PCs)... but I hate(!!!) Diablo III. God... Diablo III. If I ever meet it on the streets I will throw it under a bus!

I don't think that there was that much effort put into the placement of grimoires. They drop like everywhere a wizard goes down - and you can find them in many shops. I don't ask to put hundrets of Holy Symbols and Fetishes into the game as well. A few for each (Priest, Druid) will already help.
