  1. It's not really meant to. See below. No offense taken. Also basing this somewhat on experience with Iraq and Afghanistan where we threw so much money at lucrative contracts that made a lot of people a lot of money but didn't amount to much in the end. I also think the fact that Ukraine is white and Christian and a democracy will help them more than it did those other countries. I can't speak to Kosovo so I'll defer to you there. Of course, I'm super pessimistic about all this stuff but I do think Ukraine will be better off if they "win" but I don't know what a Ukrainian victory would look like or if it's even possible. I think it's unlikely they push Russia out of Ukraine entirely and even if they get close to completely turning the tide then I'm afraid of what Russia would do to prevent such a humiliating defeat.
  2. I'm inclined to agree with Malc. I don't think it's optimistic though but rather a pretty easy way to launder money and make them a vassal state.
  3. My wife's super pro-Russian uncle made me laugh this morning "Germany let us hold their balls for cheap gas, so now we squeeze!"
  4. https://www.forbes.com/sites/karlaalindahao/2021/01/31/smoky-cokey-recipe-lagavulin-highball-2021/?sh=712e531a8168 It's actually really, really good. But then again, so is just the Scotch on its own.
  5. Ginja addicted friends came over on like Saturday or something but I couldn't find ginja so I got some Austrian cherry liqueur instead. They didn't touch it so now I'm having a little with coke. Sure, it's like 50 bucks for a bottle but I've mixed 100 dollar Scotch with coke so you know I'm a man of little class and middling sophistication.
  6. That's a fact, Jack. I heard that in Laszlo's voice and not just because I'm from Tucson, Arizonia.
  7. The whole thing is a lie. Can't let people get too close or get to know you because... reasons.
  8. Would if I could, unfortunately I'm a workaholic and actually enjoy my job. I'd never tell anyone but you all that, though. To everyone else I say, work is what I do to live, not who I am. I just do this until I can pursue my real passion full-time. If that ask what that is then I just make up something ridiculous. Yeah, the system has me.
  9. If you like OP items, I mean if you really like OP items, then you got to go down to DLC3
  10. My rinky dink PowerShell GUI was well received and as a reward for my work I now get to add more features. I only created this thing to automate a previously manual process.
  11. Easiest, cheesiest war winning strategy 1. Skip a bunch of time 2. Recruit a bunch of archers
  12. Finally showed my boss a side project I've been working on to help streamline some work processes and his first question was if I could make a GUI for it. Mind you, I'm not a programmer and my scripting skills are mostly limited to things that are in the function of my job. There's only 4 inputs, which the scripts prompts for, but I guess typing those into command prompt or PS is a bridge too far* So now I'm building the most basic GUI in PowerShell and wondering why I bother at all. *I'm pretty sure he's going to try to repurpose it for something else. It's meant to grab certain customer data that we use for our internal documentation
  13. Wait 10 years until both DLCs are out
  14. Story of my life. I feel like I play up to chapter 2 then start over. I guess I could just fully respec with Toybox at the beginning of chapter 2 but for some reason I just restart the game.
  15. More specific on the Yaniel thing
  16. I'm getting AWD, can't imagine going back to a RWD even though we barely get snow anymore.
  17. Never actually seen it. I think after watching The Elephant Man and Eraserhead I gave up and just stuck to what I knew though I may have seen some other stuff of his that I just don't remember or don't know is his. I'm not against David Lynch or anything just not a huge fan.
  18. I like Dune and Twin Peaks but the rest of it I can mostly do without
  19. Made some short rib small bites. Made some crostinis that I topped with bone marrow mashed potatoes and topped with some chopped short rib and a sherry and honey sauce.
  20. I'm the most boring driver in the world so probably not. My wife hates riding with me because I just cruise and chill and she's a reckless speed demon who complains if she's forced to drive within 10 miles of the speed limit. The Kia and Hyundai were on my list but I liked the look of the Ford more even though this model year's price hike really made the Ioniq more attractive. They were my second and third choices. I also liked the Lyriq but I didn't want to pay Cadillac prices.
  21. About to put in my order to purchase a new car. My lease for my current car is up in November and I won't be expecting delivery of the new one until early next year so we'll be sharing my wife's car, which I absolutely hate. Going through some rental woes as well, tenants keep backing out at the last minute. We're already priced below market value because I'd feel gross trying to make a lot of money on people in this market because I'm about as bleeding heart as it gets without being completely self destructive. I lose money on it every year with maintenance and management included and my only goal is to try to get as close to breaking even as possible. Could turn a profit if I managed it myself but I don't have the time or inclination. It's most just a retirement plan, not that I'll probably live that long.
