  1. While I hope Trump would run 3rd party if he doesn't get the nomination, I fear that the Democrats won't show up (especially to contend with vote suppression efforts) if they aren't up against Trump. I don't have anything to base that on other than their general apathy.
  2. I look forward to him and Rhonda Sanctimonious going at it. Don't kink shame me.
  3. I don't really care what Musk does with his new MySpace purchase. I feel bad for all most of the people that lost their jobs but I highly doubt the company will ever be worth anywhere near what he paid for it. Only time will tell if he's making the right moves.
  4. In AZ this week so eating Sonoran Mexican food and some occasional soul food. Had chitlins two ways for dinner the other night, regular and battered and fried.
  5. Not sure about the batteries just yet because the performance doesn't seem like it's worth the cost But now that my wife also wants to go electric with her next car and our energy company is raising prices and implementing a time of use system it's making me want to jump to solar before some rebates and credits expire
  6. I hate seagulls. I got mugged by them at Sea World when I was a kid and I've never moved on.
  7. We still get our ballots mailed to us about 2 weeks ahead of the election and they are the simple bubble paper ballots. Same with the primaries. Then you can either mail them back or drop them off at one of the many conveniently placed drop boxes. I always drop them off because it's close and easy and I'm a millennial so I don't have stamps... except for a strange stamp collection that mysteriously showed up one day and sometimes whispers dark thoughts in my ear as I fall asleep. Crazy stuff like I should mail a letter, hand written, to someone I care about. Wacky.
  8. I actually voted a week ago and definitely not for Colorado Republicans because they're all pretty standard MAGA Republicans. I miss not being overly concerned if my preferred candidate lost. Anyways, I'll continue this in the politics thread if there's anything else.
  9. Homeland Security Admits It Tried to Manufacture Fake Terrorists for Trump A new Homeland Security report details orders to connect protesters arrested in Portland to one another in service of the Trump's imaginary antifa plot.
  10. Let me know how you feel about it when you finish it. I'd be curious if you feel the same way.
  11. I liked it well enough as I thought it was nice that they tried to do a few things different but the problem was that we didn't care for a lot of how they did things differently. Other than that it's about as annoying as many modern shows where the protagonist does the stupid or walks into an obvious trap to move the plot forward. Daredevil was a nice touch.
  12. IIRC, it has a lot to do with what majestic already said but I do believe we once or twice got a dev on here to offer more info. This thread has a couple Obs devs responding
  13. Monday I made my wife lamb chops with veggies and rice for dinner and Tuesday I made carne asada tacos for the family. Today for lunch I made some Korean instant noodles with some left over shredded beef and green onions. Dinner has not yet revealed itself to me.
  14. I thought the 3D was cool in IMAX but the rest of the movie is the mostly super generic and uninteresting
  15. It's actually recommended that you not pitch your ideas here... or at all. Sorry.
  16. It's mostly being pushed by the Republicans as an issue they can win on by providing simple "solutions" to complex issues. https://news.gallup.com/poll/404243/economy-top-election-issue-abortion-crime-next.aspx
  17. Sorry for the double post, I couldn't combine this in an edit for some reason. Yeah, we avoided some obvious leave me alone houses but we tried any that seemed like they could go either way. I also brought a good amount of candy with me in case someone answered the door but didn't have candy and it actually came in handy because my next door neighbors answered but had no candy.
  18. We had about 18-20 kids this year and I, like an idiot, bought about 100 bucks worth of candy on sale and another maybe 20 bucks of little nothing Halloween toys (stickers, spider rings, fake bugs, stuff like that) to give out. I was giving out armloads of the stuff and we still have leftovers. I don't actually like candy but my son is in heaven and my sugar-hating wife has been sneaking Snickers and Almond Joys for 3 weeks now.
  19. Took my son trick or treating for the first time and he loved it... and the candy.
  20. I've bought an ibuypower machine before and it lasted me about 5 years and 2 of those years were in Iraq so I can't complain about the company. Laptop though. Had to look up Overwatch and it seems like there's a second game as well and that system ticks its recommended requirements just barely with the video card and RAM and meets the minimum requirements for the CPU. I've been out of the hardware game for a long time but I'd probably go with something with a slightly more power just to future proof it a little in case there's an Overwatch 3 or another game he gets into
