  1. I like having a reachable level cap, but reaching it should be a late game thing imo. Especially since most content in the game is balanced around level 10 or so because of the open world structure
  2. Spells are generally restricted by class, right? I couldn't just put some druid spells in a grimoire and have a wizard be able to use them, I'd need to make copies of the spells without class restrictions and add those?
  3. If you choose to sail back to the inn whenever one character gets knocked out in combat that's your business
  4. Eothas planned to expose the Engwithan machinery in the Dyrwood to back him up when he publicly revealed the origins of the gods. He needed an army because he'd be opposed by the Leaden Key, possibly the other gods (many of the machines were in the heart of Magran's territory) and the Glanfathan tribes. He let the Godhammer happen because he'd realised that exposing the machines wouldn't necessarily convince people- faith is stronger than evidence. But if a god appeared to be killed by mortals, that might start to shake people's faith, which would kind of serve his ends. E: it isn't clarified in the game, but I like to think his invasion of the Dyrwood was caused by getting wind of Thaos's plan to restore Woedica to power, and the less-than-perfect idea of exposing the Engwithan machines was in part due to him wanting to protect them from the Leaden Key- that's suggested in the first game as his whole motivation for invading. With POE2 in mind, I think the lengths Thaos was going to go to caused Eothas to consider how necessary it was to keep the secret- he has dialogue in Ashen Maw something like "either we've succeeded and we don't need to be secret any more, or we've failed and keeping the secret is pointless"
  5. One I'd like to see: no permadeath but injuries are more debilitating, no resting allowed except at inns. I love the idea of some of the god challenges, but I'm a bit intimidated by Path Of The Damned, even with everyone talking about how easy it is. So if possible I would love the option to have the god challenges available for lower difficulties/allow mods or Berath's Blessings
  6. Increasing the level cap is literally free, there are mods that do it. New abilities would cost, due to having new animations and visual effects, and of course they'd need to further address enemy difficulty, but the alternative is ending up with a full game and three DLCs where players hit the level cap halfway through. Of course, the benefit of having more abilities is that enemies can use them too...
  7. Really cool! And I'm honestly glad to hear that you're repurposing some Pillars 1 music for this, that's some great music in that game that I definitely wouldn't mind seeing taken out for another spin
  8. If you'd like to get into the betas just keep an eye out on the beta forum, or just opt into betas on Steam and get automatic updates
  9. Definitely WM1 expanded more, but then there was more room for expansion, POE2 has a much higher baseline all around than 1 did. Real shame it doesn't increase the level cap though, but I'm happy enough with having soulbound stuff to level up
  10. In one of the interviews linked in the latest update they said there are no plans for post-game DLC. There's hints that the final DLC (or possibly completing all 3 DLC) will change something in the final area
  11. The scripted interaction when you sail to the final area is pretty close to Yenwood Field
  12. "Challenges in patch 2.1, a mega boss, and the second DLC." Sounds like they're considering the mega boss separate from the patch, or they'd have said "challenges and a mega boss in patch 2.1"

It makes sense to put out a free DLC that adds a location along with a paid DLC if the paid DLC begins with a missive; players can go check out the new location and then when they get back on the boat they get the missive too. What they've said about SSS suggests the entrance to the DLC might be level-gated as well, which would be a good idea- if they just send a missive with the DLC installed then new players will get bombarded with messages the first time they leave Port Maje
  14. So if there's limited slots the mod lootlist would override the original one? Ie if I have 14 items and add them all to the pig it'll drop those 14 items and none of its original loot? Regarding attack mode, do you mean when the enemy is officially "spotted" and autopause kicks in (if enabled)? That WOULD be a short window! But if that window is all you need to add loot to any NPC or creature in the game then that's plenty
  15. Steam was completely transparent up until quite recently, and I think the main change was that they allowed users to hide their libraries so the visible sales numbers are no longer reliable
  16. I like Eothas's attitude more than any specific lines, I think. Like when Eder yells at him and Eothas responds pretty much like you'd expect Jesus to. I think the highlight of the writing in the game for me would be the Bridge Ablaze section in the DLC

  18. I wasn't interested in this one when it was first announced but as details started coming out I started getting more excited, especially after how good the first DLC was
  19. I assume that's Galawain. Or Kazuwari, whoever/whatever that is. I thought the flaming Engwithan Titan was just an example of the kind of bosses that'd be cropping up, but they're heavily focusing on it. Hope he's fun to talk to!

  21. Lol Steam makes over $3 million in like a minute. That's not a punitive punishment. It's not even inconvenient. And people wonder why big businesses can just run roughshod over the consumer, when that's the kind of punishment they have waiting for them
  22. I don't think this genre is really crowded enough for another game to count as competition
