  1. I don't think it has anything to do with dislike. I just think people in general prefer to play other races ahead of the dwarves. Well, as an Elf Ranger, I can clearly say that i don't care for dwarves. At all. They are SO 'beneath' me. Well then, you ain't getting a like from me, mister!
  2. Still very early into the game. I liked how Eder ended up being the one companion who kept his vigil by the protagonist's side after their supposed "death". It struck me as a very Eder thing to do.
  3. There's an upside to this, though: you'll get to enjoy the game after the first batch of tweaks and fixes, so it all balances out in the end.
  4. Speaking of which, do we even know who the first guy was? Do we have a name?
  5. I don't think it has anything to do with dislike. I just think people in general prefer to play other races ahead of the dwarves. Di verus? Madiccho! Postenago! ...and a bunch of other outraged words! I'm getting the feeling that's less of an in-universe thing and more of an emanation of Josh's dislike of dwarves as a fantasy race concept. But that's me going out on a limb. And I still like Josh.
  6. It lets you create your own party members to put in the party later. Basically, you get to create dudes from scratch like you did with your Watcher. Great option if you prefer full customization (like Icewind Dale) to premade companions (like Baldur's Gate).
  7. Madness! How can anyone dislike the dwarves? Yet another race shafted in the portrait department. *sob*
  8. Minor nitpick, but I just want to get something off my chest: There is one new male orlan portrait in the game. One. Reeeeeeeee
  9. Hey, I'm on that list! Hi, mom!
  10. Not to sound rude or anything, but if a plot device that's there to keep you from completely ignoring the plot is a dealbreaker for you, then I wonder where you have been for like ninety percent of games over the last twenty years or so. It wouldn't even have been surprising if they had cut off your capability for choice right off the bat, MoTB Kelemvor-style. Incidentally, this is also how things transpired in the beginning of PoE 1. In PoE 2, you may not like the setup, but nevertheless, the fact remains that you can refuse the offer that is thrust upon you - with all the consequences such decision would entail. Being sent back to the Wheel isn't exactly an illogical outcome from an in-universe perspective.
  11. It’s okay. I have figured out how to launch the game earlier - in fact, you only have to
  12. I was hoping that with a name like "Gunhawk" the bird itself would be equipped with guns, but sadly that doesn't appear to be the case. Unless...
  13. GTAV isn't on the list and Stardew Valley is #2, that list is fake! Crooked Obsidian strikes again! In all seriousness though, that's awesome news.
  14. I don't get it. If we're willing to excuse horrible behavior on the basis of being human, then I vote that the Obsidian management, who are apparently next of kin to Satan, should be exempt too. EDIT: Also, I think I really need to take a break from this thread. At this point, it's just clawing at sores.
  15. I haven't seen the new Avengers yet... so I'll just hope that it wasn''t a spoiler. I hope. *goes to cry in a corner*
  16. Out of curiosity, what exactly is it that you're practicing?
  17. I... I think I don't know what's even going on in this thread anymore. I need an adult.
  18. This is... heartbreaking. The man whose magnum opus is a goddamn virtual novel about the subjective nature of truth and reality should never have to resort to words like "shill", "colossal ****" or even childish name calling. Stop this madness, Chris. You're still my personal hero, but however justified you feel in your crusade, this is not the way to do it. The internet will not let you forget this one.
  19. Interesting. I think your examples worked really well for the purpose of explaining this topic - I can definitely see the parallels to Rome its legacy here. Thank you for the explanation!
  20. I find myself in complete and utter agreement with this conclusion.
  21. There's also the fact that the pet item you get from defeating him is outright stated to be his phylactery, which means he has a good chance of coming back.
