I think Mass Effect 3 was great!Ok that's a lie, I think it was better than people said, but it is the worst real Mass Effect game. On a 10 scale I would give it like a 7. I refuse to count Andromeda as a Mass Effect game by the way . It was such a let down after 1 and 2 though.Yes, Andromeda does not exist, let us not speak of it. Andromeda was the best ME game. (Though as many games do, it falls apart in the final act) ME1 fondness is mostly nostalgia and posturing at this point. Replaying it , it's a fairly hollow series of fetch quests. Are we in some sort of a Bizarro world right now?

Now, just in case, to clear things up - when I wrote what I did, I was actually agreeing with you. There's a very good reason why people get annoyed by/meme out stuff like "Patrolling the Mojave makes you wish for a nuclear winter" and "Do you get to the Cloud District very often". I doubt those would have half the impact they have now if they had been conveyed as pure text. And this is a pertinent distinction why, exactly?

Funny thing is, P5 shares multiple voice actors with Pillars. Sojiro is Zahua, Yusuke is Eder/Aloth... It’s even better if you’ve played Tyranny. The protagonist is voiced by the Voices (duh) of Nerat of all people. Well you do get a lot of persona's, makes sense when you think about it. Nerat is probably just a persona user with the wild card powers who went batpoop crazy. All seriousness though, Persona 5 has fantastic voice acting, and is one of the best RPG's in years if you ask me. Or, think about it like this: Persona's Joker is also a fantasy version of the Joker. And I completely agree with you, Persona 5 is a delightful game.

Good point. I concur. I had a similarly funky experience with Kana. I was convinced that making him see both the good and the bad of Engwithans would be the best outcome for him, and the story seemed to follow that train of thought. At the end of the game, I really enjoyed the point he made to Thaos' face about Engwith being a cautionary tale-slash-case study for the younger cultures and not something to be venerated blindly. Then the ending slides start to roll, and I'm all ready to be proud of my fancy-hatted, shark-toothed boy. But no, he ended up being some kind of hobo philosopher with zero academic relevance. What? I suppose this is only fitting with PoE's insistence on avoiding definite answers and definite endings, but boy was I confounded. Doubly so when I discovered later that the best outcome for Kana basically requires the player to forge a false narrative based on the completely worthless tablets and omit everything negative the Builders have ever done - or, in other words, to have your resident scientist man present blatant lies before one of the most prestigious lore colleges in the world. Talk about a rollercoaster of unexpected events.

I think Wael exemplifies this. The chief god of learning and scholars is also the god of ignorance and secrets. That's the way you design a pantheon if you don't want people finding uncomfortable answers. Wondering how certain plot points at the end of Pillars will play into the sequel now that you mention this. A great many people in religious roles would want many things kept quiet. Or perhaps I'm cynical. Anyone wonder how it will effect priests moving forward? You assume that the discovery from PoE 1 will end up being some kind of world-shattering truth for the Watcher to unleash on the masses, but it won't. Unless the gods pull off some kind of silly global proclamation ala Discworld's Small Gods, I really can't see it as something that could reasonably stick with anyone but your character. It's not even a question of cynicism. In the end, when you think about it, the first game's revelation really changes nothing for the world at large - because ultimately, what can you do? To me, the end question of PoE 1 (or, well, its central theme, really) was never "How should/could/would [insert answer] change the world?", but "Now that I do know, how do I live with the answer I have been given?" Of course, I could be wrong. Who knows, maybe we will be given the option to literally shout WAKE UP SHEEPLE in every piece of dialogue in the game. Still, given the thematic core of PoE 1, I'd consider that unlikely.

Though I have already prepared a save state for Deadfire, I keep going back and forth on Eder's ending. I really can't decide which outcome makes more narrative sense to carry on into Deadfire, and I can see both angles working in light of Eothas' return. I'm reasonably sure it won't matter all that much either way (something something variables something something cutting off the branches), but I like to keep things nice and consistent.

This is awesome. You're a good soul.

I guess I worded that poorly. I meant the biological inclinations and predispositions you are born with. As in: anyone can learn a skill through practice and determination, but some are born with specific talents that make grasping certain skills faster and/or easier. In the case of the Eoran gods, I guess that would translate into their personalities and domains, as that was the package they were created with by their makers.

Man, does it feels bad to get snubbed by the big B. But thanks anyhow.Huh? It wasn't meant to sound snappy or so. I just wanted to say that I can't say if it makes sense because I didn't really think about such combos a lot or fiddled around with it. It seems to be not very good but maybe it is nonetheless.Sorry if that came out in a wrong way! No worries! It's all fine. Apologies for me kind of derailing the topic, too.

I don't see Abydon's actions as noble at all, or groundbreaking for a god in any way. To me, he was merely fulfilling the directives of his Engwithan "programming" - the fact that it involved getting his body in the way of a small moon is irrelevant as this was something he has literally been built to do. He moved to act out his portfolio of preservation and chose the only means appropriate to achieve this goal. It may have very well been a completely automatic response - and if so, does that really qualify as noble? Can white cells be called noble? Were it any other god (Eothas doesn't count) sacrificing themselves for humanity, with a completely different sphere of influence, I'd agree with you. But in the case of Abydon, it seems like it was almost business as usual.

Congratulations on both counts, man!

This is of course anectodal, and thus worthless, but as someone who was part of a Kickstarter-funded project, I have grown to appreciate the rare moments of mellow understanding from one’s backers. Doubly so when there are large pledges involved and it sometimes feels like everyone’s waiting for the other shoe to drop. Also, I didn’t really get the impression that OP got jumped on by the forum. -

Maybe it's because I'm an informed consumer, but I just don't understand when people are drawn to the ultimate dregs of societies output. But... I like Fifa.
