  1. I know that. The game seemed to lack surprises in general. " Sure, but once you knew she was a Sith Lord, why couldn't you talk to her about it, and why couldn't you actually do something about it? Don't forget, your statement about her being the most well-written is opinion. And I know I'm not alone in disliking Kreia. Numerous people on these boards (and Bioware's, for that matter) dislike her, even though most admit she was a deep character. Although I don't see how you gathered that I somehow 'disliked' deep characters from my post just because I disliked Kreia. Or maybe you were just being sarcastic. " And I think she was only well-written in certain aspects. As mentioned above, she is self-contradicting, and I felt her motivation of wanting to kill the force wasn't really well-done. As said before, it seemed to me like it was just added to give your PC a reason to kill her. But for me, it didn't really add anything to the game. I think they could have editted out that part, made Nihilus the final boss, and it still would have worked out fine. Not that I didn't enjoy killing her, though.
  2. You're not a fan of complex characters are you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm all for them, actually. I just don't share your love of Kreia's character. While she was indeed deep, I despised her. She was a traitor, a leech, annoying as hell, self-contradicting, and her whole motivation of wanting to destroy the force seemed like it was casually tacked on at the end to give your PC some reason to kill her. At least, to me it did. It didn't take a genius to figure out she was the 3rd Sith Lord, anyway. That's why I'm hoping in K3 your mentor is done very differently, even if he/she is neutral.
  3. Drown those kittens, and your journey to the darkside will be complete! Oh great, 500 posts. I need to slow down.
  4. Forget force-lightning, Kreia's main power seemed to be force-b1tch. " I hope they DON'T include a character like Kreia in the next game. I could go for some mentor in the game that "guides" your character, maybe even a neutral one that helps train you, but not someone that stabs you in the back, constantly nags you, or has some crazy wacky motivation for training you (revenge or 'killing' the force).
  5. And of course, they had to fit it all in one game, so naturally it's not going to be 100% realistic. Same with the romances.
  6. As we all would. :D "
  7. Um, earth to Metadigital? Where exactly did you get the idea that most of us like to cut up our food into little pieces? If you must know, we Americans tend to eat like hogs without cutting up our food first.
  8. The other problem with DS people is they tend to look old. I'm all for intimidating appearances, but did you see a DS master Disciple? He doesn't look intimidating, he just looks like he belongs in a home. I'm all for tweaking the DS facial appearances. However, I am and always will be a LS fan. I'm a sucker for helping people out. And the games make it so easy. (although, at least in K1 I didn't get scolded for being LS) " I have now only just began a DS playthrough for both KOTOR's. Although I must admit it's quite fun and it is worth trying out. One of the things that makes it easier for me to be DS is just to imagine that they are all actors playing a part in a play. That, and they are just pixelated people.
  9. Grrr... I guess one of the problems with some political threads is that they do turn into flame wars. The fact is some people can't express opinions without turning into trolls or flamethrowers whenver someone disagrees with them. That, or things start off nice, but escalate into people throwing rocks at each other. Remember the human sexuality thread? That turned nice real fast. " And of course, until the TSL Restoration patch is released and K3 is announced, we don't really have all that much to talk about (KOTOR-related).
  10. I didn't take it that way, but someone else might. And that wasn't my main point either, as said in my EDITED post above. If I wanted to condemn a song for being blatant, I would have mentioned Baley's song instead.
  11. Probably the replete references to violence and against a particular religion. And it wasn't necessarily the song itself, just that it seemed hypocritical to allow things like that but not things like sexual references. But I've said enough already. And since it was deleted anyway, there's really nothing else to talk about.
  12. So songs like WinterSun's are allowed, but ones with sexual references aren't? Nice to know our mods know how to prioritize things. "
  13. What? Me? (Vader yell) NOOOOOOOOO!!!!
  14. Auugh!!! Stop!!!! He's not dead!! (lalalalalalalalalala) okay, I'm better now.
  15. They better not %&*$@ kill off Revan. If anything, they should at least make it your choice if he dies or not. Besides, with the Jedi council dead, he'd be the one more capable of any of rebuilding the order.
  16. Silence, Bastila hater. But seriously Mus, did you even bother to get all the dialogue out of her (as a male PC?) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you asking if I scrounged the romance dry? Then, no, but I did chat with her extensively and solved the mother-daughter side story. Let's just say that I didn't grow to appreciate her as a charcter. Voice was okay though, but hey...it's Hale. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, there you go. You really have to complete the romance sidequest to get all the dialogue out of her and appreciate her character. That is where she stops preaching and even apologizes for her rude behavior (although she does that with both genders) and becomes a different character. She even loses her own confidence and starts doubting herself and looking up to your PC for support.
  17. Silence, Bastila hater. But seriously Mus, did you even bother to get all the dialogue out of her (as a male PC?) For those of you who are wondering, I'm not just looking for your favorite party members, but also which game you thought had the best overall (as a whole), and which one you think executed things like dialogue, skills, unique traits, personality, etc better.
  18. With all the problems of choosing a new PC, I sometimes think it'd be best if we just see a return of the exile in K3. At least with that, you wouldn't have to make a story compatible with eight different backstories, and you'd already have a force-user. As for levels, as I've said, the exile might still be a wound in the force, and so there might be some kind of event in the beginning where the exile loses his/her powers and has to start over. As for Revan, my main gripe in K2 was that they talked about him so da** much, and then gave only a little blurb about the outcome of the character (he was fighting the 'True Sith'. I actually got sick of hearing about Revan in every single conversation. It was like the game wasn't all about you, it was about Revan. I hope that's not the case in K3. And from the way K2 ended, it's going to be a continuation nightmare. I actually wonder if they should have Revan make a return at the start of K3. It could begin in the midst of the True Sith war, with Revan being the Republic's main military leader and someone that is periodically mentioned in conversation, but not seen or talked to. But of course, they'd still have to provide closure on his/her character.
  19. I actually liked Bastila's normal clothes (what Sentry showed us). I don't know what Mus was trying to say, but you did draw her clothes pretty accurately, I think. That said, I think she also looks good in standard Jedi robes also, but not in battle armor.
  20. Actually, she was around 15 or 16 when she was queen of Naboo. She was only about five years older than Anakin Skywalker in Episode I. While this isn't KOTOR, this is something I wish had been said in the movies: Anakin: I don't like sand. Padme: Wow, you're a whiner. Anakin: :'(
  21. Wow...I don't know if I should be laughing or shuddering. The most hilarious/disturbing part was the guy bludgeoning people with a chair. Just goes to show you how far people will go for a 'bargain'. Having said that, I would like to say that Fox News is no more biased than any other news network. There is no such thing as unbiased media. And compared with the trash I read in many newspapers (yes, I actually read news), Fox News is like a breath of fresh air. Any newspaper that carries cartoons by Dan Perkins automatically lowers its credibility. :D "
  22. Dang! I keep missing all this great art! Nice art, all! @HarrySorne: Awesome. Can't say much more than that. @Darth Spock: "Who needs force jump? Red Bull gives you wings!"
  23. Actually, I only comment on critisisms when they're unfounded or downright lies. You may not know this, but I actually voted for K1 over K2, largely due to what you mentioned (especially the ending). However, I'll defend any game, regardless if I loved it or hated it, if people bring up invalid arguments against it or if they exaggerate something about it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Easy, I was just playing with you, GoA. One other thing I disliked about K2 is that the exile seemed like a doomed character, no matter what you did. The game never really explained if you were still a wound in the force at the end of the game. I'm guessing/hoping it will be explained in K3, if it's ever made. And to me, he/she didn't feel as much like your character as Revan did in K1. And when K2 tried to explain Revan's past and his actions, he felt less like your character as well.
  24. This is partly inspired by a pic I saw in the fanart thread. (credit goes to Darth Spock) :D Jedi Masters: You are a wound in the force. And because of that, we must cut you off from it. Exile: (laughs) Masters: What's so funny? Exile: I don't need your 'force' anyway! I've found something better! Masters: Better than the force? What could that be? Exile: This! (holds up a can of Red Bull) Masters: How do you expect to fight the Sith with that? Exile: Because Red Bull gives you wings! (drinks can and flies off)
  25. I'd have to disagree (as if that's a surprise). I found male Revan saving Bastila through love a whole lot more uplifting and even realistic, even if a tad cliche. The romances were actually one of my favorite parts of the game. One of my favorite parts was teasing or flirting with Bastila and seeing her throw a fit. :D Agreed, I didn't even trust him either at first. And the whole "killing her because I loved her" thing was a tad creepy. The cut-scenes on the Ebon Hawk in K2 I thought weren't as funny or well-done as the interactions in K1, especially the ones between GO-TO and remote (the word 'pointless' comes to mind) Not really. Mission didn't have some huge secret, nor did Canderous or T3. And the 'secrets' they carried didn't hide who they were. The characters were who they seemed to be, they just hid certain experiences from your character, which is natural. It was in K2 where you had people who were not what they appeared to be (Kreia, Atton, Mandalore (although most knew who he was), GO-TO). HK-47 is probably the only exception, although Zalbaar's secret also might be counted. Disagree. Those are a lot of unfair generalizations about the characters that many people make, I think. Canderous wasn't 'psychotic', Carth, while he whined, was also betrayed by his best friend and mentor and lost his wife and son in the process. " As for whiners, I'm surprised how some people seemed to forget how much Atton whined in K2 (especially on Peragus). Bastila really didn't preach much about the darkside, only a few times, and the reason she did it was understandable (you being Darth Revan, of course). Although T3 didn't have a personality, agreeed. And I thought Jolee was funny, if a tad annoying. In both games, i'd say my favorite character was Bastila followed closely by HK-47. My least favorite/most hated was GO-TO followed closely by Kreia. (while she was useful in combat, I hated her back-stabbing guts)
