This single line made my day

Aloth: Maybe they just don't answer to FIERY WHORE! I loved that line. xD -
Shades = Ankhegs
Serdan replied to Evange's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Ankheg I'm pretty sure they don't have any drain abilities, but they hit really hard and they are just north of the Friendly Arm, so you can get there at something like lvl 2 no problem. -
What is "Foe"?
Serdan replied to Ouroboros226's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
In Danish we have the word "fæ", which I assumed was related to "foe". Problem is, the Danish word means "livestock", so I think you can imagine my confusion. -
Need help, im new.. :)

This is misleading. All weapons target deflection. What matters is the enemy's damage reduction vs different weapon types (pierce, crush, slash). DR just straight up reduces damage by an integer amount. If the enemy has 10 DR vs Pierce/Slash and 5 DR vs Crush, then you'll want to use a crushing weapon. E.g. a club. Here's a nice overview: http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Weapon With spells and abilities it gets a bit more complicated, since they can target different defences. The defences are used in attack resolution and along with your own accuracy determine whether you hit and how hard (miss, graze, hit, crit). As with DR you want to target the lowest defence and for difficult enemies lower their defences further with various debuffs. -

What Junta said. I would like more named drunks that recite poems though. It does make the world feel more alive. -
Too Easy?

I'm going to wait for 1.05 and use the XP nerf option in IE Mod. Should make it hard enough to keep me interested until the end. -
Enchantement bonus limit
Serdan replied to kilobug's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I'll raise this if someone sends me a saved game where I can repro the issue (I'm at a point in Act II where I can't enchant anything to Exceptional or Superb yet). If you want to send me the saved game—please travel to Caed Nua before saving. I would very much like to avoid spoilers since I'm still relatively early in Act II. Open the console. iroll20s CraftingDebug and if you don't meet the level requirement: AddExperience [number] Quit to main menu to enable achievements again. I tested it, but could only reproduce the bug on unique weapons, so be aware that it may be a factor. -
Just downloaded a 592.2meg patch ?

I think this is my cue to brag about my 100mbit, soon to be 120mbit, connection. -
Just curious about that bold part. When you say scripted events, you mean those events where I can click a dialogue option using the Athletics skill? Not sure if I am misinterpreting what you said, because if I didnt, then I thought the only dialogue related events involved your Main Character. Or did you mean like, a multiple chain fight encounter or something. The story scroll thingies. You can usually decide which char should perform the task. There's an example where might is used in the first ruins.
-
Mechanics: You can set 1 trap per party member and this skill affects the accuracy. Survival: Nothing to add. Lore: There are some pretty awesome scrolls. A decent level on 2-3 peeps makes sense. Athletics: At least 3 points on everyone for the -90% fatigue gain. Have one char with a higher score for scripted events. Stealth: This is kinda meh. Maybe 4-5 points on one character for scouting. You can get +2 boots too.

DUDE...Master Stairs. 'Nuff said. Users/[uSERNAME]/Saved Games/Pillars of Eternity Dude, learn to read. Nuff said. I wasn`t able to reach the master stairs and had to get back up to rest and get supplies. Why are forums always crawling with people liek you who have an opinion and just can`t wait to cram it into a conversation whether it`s relevant or not? You can access master stairs about every other level, so why did you have to go through 14 loading screens?

My main two gripes with this game

Then dismiss the ones that you are not interested in. -
I find it extremely hard to believe that someone can make this statement without being ironical. SJWs get to define "systemic oppression", find the group they consider the most oppressed and let only them talk. All the while they advise others to **** off and don't mess in their racism discussion, because they do not belong to the proper race. Truly that's comedy gold, mate. You are making stuff up. Give me a coherent definition of systemic oppression and I'll be more than willing to debate that. Problem is, people like you are usually solely interested in disparaging those who are having constructive conversations about these issues. You don't actually have a definition in mind because you are talking out of your ass. Prove me wrong. EDIT: I forgot to mention that the bit about only letting the most oppressed talk is an outright lie. In this and other threads about the limerick I have personally told people off for transphobia, homophobia, racism and ableism. I'm willing to listen to all of those groups because they have serious issues worth talking about. I'm not interested in hearing about how affirmative action is really just oppression of white people, because that is utter bull****.

You'd have a point if racism was defined simply as discrimination based on race. Most social justice advocates don't define it that way, so you're either ignorant of what the conversation is actually about or you're arguing in bad faith. He does have a point as racial discrimination is a valid definition of racism. The version you referred to is valid as well. Both carry a powerful stigma (and both should); if social justice advocates don't accept both versions as valid, they are perpetuating injustice. ffs, try to actually comprehend what you read. Luckmann was referring to being told that white people can't be subjected to racism. The only scenario where I have seen anyone make such a claim is when sja's are talking about racism as systemic oppression. White people are not subjected to systemic oppression, so when a white person interjects into that conversation with "But a black person was once mean to me!" they are rightfully told to **** off. If I had only written the first sentence you'd have a point, but I followed it up with two more sentences that made it perfectly clear what I was on about. I made my response specifically to what he wrote and with the underlying assumptions in mind.
