You don't think the mission statment of Nazism and Socialism matter, I mean they are ideologies as much as political systems. Lots of reasons to put in place programmes to deal with unimployment and economic stagnation. I suppose facism is socialism for those obsessing about the strong nation state and the cult of personality. Enough reason to have two different words to describe them. That is... one is not the other, unless you insist on deconstruction. The further one goes down that road the less things make sense. Fair point. I can accept that to describe them requires both a philosophy and objective. Can you offer this to describe the gnazis?

Utterly in awe of this post. Why is NATO bad for the USA? Because it drags us into alliances. Those alliances drag us into conflicts. I want America to stop wasting it's resources on wars that don't involve us; NATO makes that very difficult. Also, the existence of NATO makes it easier for stupid war hawks to downplay the costs of war. Freedom of action is worthless if the strength of those actions is enfeebled. Ignoring the value of alliances, surrendering valuable markets and materials, abandoning cultures that are friendly into the hands of those that are hostile, all enfeeble your strength. This isn't some new reality. I appreciate that you feel America is held back by its friends, but I assure you that the only thing worse than having interconnections is having none.

And my point was that I felt your examples were as erotically 'tone deaf' as some of Raithe's. Being a certain shape doesn't make you sexy. But by the same token, you don't get to be sexy just by looking weird.

*googles same* Again, I've been passionately involved with some - shall we say 'unfashionable' - women. But none of those women are unfashionable. They're just gonky looking. Which is a word I've constructed specifically to describe your strange taste. And for the record, 'gonky' refers to the robot in Star Wars IV. After C3PO and R2D2 get hoovered into the sandcrawler they are in the bowels of same, and a cuboid robot with two feet walks past going "gonk gonk".

I'm well aware of our responsibilities to NATO. It's unfortunate that the US made the mistake of being involved in an alliance. We should get out of NATO. If you think intervention is making the world more peaceful; you are simply wrong. Not that world peace should even be an agenda of ours. Lucky for us Ukraine was not a full member of NATO and we are not obligated to get involved. I wish we would just stay out of it. Utterly in awe of this post. Why is NATO bad for the USA?

http://i.word.com/idictionary/fascism Using 1, the Nazis fall under Fascist. Won't argue about Socialism, as almost everyone seems to have a different idea or what it is. Fair play you linked a definition, but I'm not sure autocratic leadership entirely differentiates facsism from, say Stalinism I'd suggest that an obsession with the individual within an autocratic regime, the sense of being a powerful person yet simultaneously being subordinated to the 'perfect' free individual - fuhrer, duce, jefe etc. - is part of it.

Any public incident involving the cops in the US is going to get futzed fifteen ways from sunday. I think this was a mistake, but wouldn't this be down to a dispatcher error, rather than the cops themselves? -
1) The nazis were socialists. The clue IS IN THE ****ING NAME 2) I refuse to argue the point of whether they were fascists until someone defines what fascism actually is. IN no more than one paragraph.

It's not thousand it's hundred thousands men and women who kill people and threaten all non-muslims and millions of Muslims that supports them. Have we ever heard from any Muslim officials any words of condemnation for Muslim terrorists? Did any Muslim ever told that Muslim terrorists should be excluded from Muslim communities? No, we don't hear it. All we ever hear is "we are not all like that"... reassuring as hell. ROFL. There's no such thing as a muslim 'official' outside Shia islam. The fact that you're advocating condemning all muslims, without even knowing this ought to tell you something. -

This thread is typical of a warped circular logic. "Muslims believe in eternal war, therefore they must be stopped. If they don't believe in eternal war then they aren't muslim." Give me a break. A few thousand young men with masculinity anxiety and dodgy facial hair does not a justification for ethnic cleansing make. -
Just recently my back is fine unless I sit down for more than twenty minutes. Consequently my lower legs - never shabby - are like wellingtons full of pool balls. Because I stand almost all day. Besides that, it smells of weird people in here.

Sharp-one, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt here. I too have heard the proportions of racial minorities in US jails. But if you think incarceration reflects merely how much crime you've done then you've really failed to consider the justice system. I would gently add that I get the impression you don't know many black people.
