I did use the Report function on several posts almost two weeks ago and I just heard back from Finoavar and it seems the reported posts were not received.

Two titles a year? We recently got Mercaneries, KOTOR:2, the Wookies expansion for Galaxies, Battlefront, Episode III the game, Lego Star Wars, and Republic Commando. In the works is Battlefront 2, Empire at War, and another Mercaneries title. There would be more if they hadn't recently canceled a bunch of projects.

Freedom Force 2 might be in the cheap bin now. I haven't played it yet, but Freedom Force 1 on the PC was really underrated.

Very much so. I still enjoyed playing both.

Shadowrun's system is a bit obtuse, but I really like their magic system. White Wolf's Mage has a really good magic system as well. You have spheres of control, and certail rituals you memorize, but you can invent dynamic magic on the fly. There is no mana or spell slots. There is Quintessence and Paradox however.

If someone else wants to run it, I'm down. I don't have Cthulu rulebooks on hand.

GURPS might break if you really went out of your way to twink. The most popular core class in AD&D is broken right off the bat.

We're not talking about specific rulesets, and the base rules don't include horribly broken rules out of the box in other major systems. The only way Elves are remotely balanced is that they can't progress past certain levels in classes, which is a really poor methodology for balancing.

Multiclassing and dual-classing in 2E was absured. And you want to talk twink while defending 2E? 2E is all about broken spells, of which there 200, mixing various kits, etc. Elves in general are completely broken in 2E.

3E has less dice rolling and streamlined rules. If you content 3 years isn't enough to learn a rules system, then that system is too complex and your expectations are whacked. I keep quoting systems you can pick up and play right away. I can teach a player to play D6 in minutes.

Some stories do not depend on the narrative format, which some may have been trying to make as their point. But I agree that a good story can make a good game great.

Ultima VII had the Hoe of Destruction however. And you could pick crops in the game.

Bao-Dur, Mira, Atton, and HandMaiden all can become Jedi. Visas, Disciple and Kreia already are Force users.

Sawyer is the same developer who apparently was trying to shove a good story in Gauntlet. If the game can support a narrative format, I don't think the average gamer will mind a good story, and may even enjoy it.
