  1. Marines were responsible for some amphibious assaults in WWI, but in WWII I believe they started with Guadacanal 2 years before Omaha Beach.
  2. I am an unabated Kevin Smith fanboi.
  3. I've been missing out the past few days. I figured everyone would behave in my absense.
  4. The Marines have been around since 1775, and have been taking beaches almost as long.
  5. The Sims and a few other games have dones this for a while now.
  6. I think it was ego more than logistics. The Marines have special amphibious craft and train to take beaches. The Army wasn't trained or equipped to take that beach.
  7. Every single developer said the PS1 was light-years eaiser to develop for than the N64. That is why most third-party N64 games were so horrid. You have no clue what you are talking aout.
  8. Diddy Kong Racing on the N64 is far too much fun for a game that silly.
  9. You wouldn't have any of these problems in a skill-based system. Classes are nothing but restrictions. Skill-based systems + Templates for the win, yet again.
  10. I may start a new thread tonight with all the info in one post to keep things together. I'm probably going to set the game in Vegas. What kind of game stylisticly and thematically are people looking for? I should warn peope that the WoD is very oppressive and dark usually. There are always more powerful creatures in the darkess who have been around longer, and will do everything in the power to remain in power. Even more dangerous than the predators themselves are the society of predators. If people want we can run a Gehenna game. I have all the Gehenna books. Gehenna is the apocalypse for Vampires. It is obviously a very different chronicle of mass galactic badness, but that probably would not be good for new players.
  11. No one should both arguing with Epiphany on next-gen consoles. It is like talking to a wall.
  12. I actually bought Jeff Vogel's book on parenting, and I love it.
  13. Except each new development kit is new. And the 360 is also a new architecture. How can you insist that programmers can't learn a new architecture to develop for the PS3, but learning a new architectuer for the 360 won't be an issue? In every single topic and issue you discount all logic and speak like a true fanboy. The purpose of a development kit is to automate some of these processes and make things easier on the developer. Sony designed the PS1 and PS2 to be fairly easy to develop for. The PS1 beat out the N64 for that very reason. Sony is not ignorant of the need to have plenty of strong developers working for their platform. In fact, that has been their strength through two generations and you magically assume that is changing.
  14. How does this prove you haven't lied in countless other topics?
  15. Dink is like NWN. The real strength of the game is the mod scene. Also check out Spiderweb Software. The games aren't free, but there are free demos for all their old-school style RPGs. They are Shareware, and if you are eventually going to buy a game, you might as well support a good guy like Jeff Vogel.
  16. Omaha beach is seen as a victory. I see it as a needless loss of life, as a much smaller covert operation of Marines probably could have secured the same beach as is their role. The Army insisted on taking the beach by throwing copius amounts of people and throwing them infront of bullets. And I played to the third disc of FFVIII and I never even saw the beginning of a love story. Supposedly the whole game was one big love story. Where was it?
  17. I'd like to second Dink Smallwood. Siege of Avalon is going free-open-source.
  18. I say we ban all products that can be modified post-purchase to make illicit products by consumers and that we pass the buck as often as we can. In fact, since styrofoam and OJ can be used to make napalm, let us make them boat illegal as soon as possible. Since these arguements are so silly to begin with, I say we not even waste our time on providing creedence and adding to these media hype machines.
  19. Russia can not help that people keep falling into our bullets at high velocity. We really are a peace-loving people. Give pizza chants and visualize whirrled peas.
  20. Not to mention the rules just aren't good.
  21. I apologize that I have been out of town longer than expected, but I have sent my country preferences.
  22. I don't want to diverge too much off topic, but I've heard Atari say they felt many games will start to use Ebberon as their setting. I believe both Dragonshard and D&D Online will both use Ebberon.
  23. I don't mind older characters. However, I would restrict older characters to players familiar with the setting.
  24. He's right. It's three points and my memory is off.
  25. You can just type the sheet out as text, or fill in the character sheet with a paint program if you like. I'm assuming most people here can't edit PDF files. You can email me at Ender (remove this space) Andrew@gmail DOT com I have some character sheets I have received already via PM and that is fine, but emai is preferred.
