"It's amazing. "Gigli" is pretty much a universally reviled movie, yet you say, "No, i said it was good, and much better than the fools think" then you have the absolute gall to call me out for having an opinion that goes up against the majority? Wow, you hypocrite." Nope. Wrong again. My opinion is correct; your is not. That's not hypocrisy; that's just fact. Keep whining; but it won't chnage anything. R00fles! "So go along now and learn the difference between "your" and "you're" and stick to arguing with me on the topic up for discussion and not bringing it down to personal insults." Actually, you were the first one to use insults in this thread by attacking everyone personally who disagreed with your 'Peter Jackson is a hack' assessment. I (and others) are just following your example.
-
"Then again, I think Gigli was an awesome movie, so my critique probably isn't the best in the world." Awesome? No, i said it was good, and much better than the fools think. "How does not liking Jackson's work make me "self-indulgent"?" Not an insult, just a fact. You actually believe that your opinion is factual when you call Jackson a hack even when all the evidence points to you being wrong. Your self indulgent as no matter the evidence you cling to the needy belief that everyone but you is wrong. Don't be sad. We all go through phases like that.

What are you playing ? (looking forward too)
Volourn replied to ShadowPaladin V1.0's topic in Computer and Console
I'm playing a little unknown game called Neverwinter Nights, and MVP Baseball 2005. -
"my favorite is Jeremy Roenick" LOL Roenick rocks, and I enjoyed ALL the TRUTH he spoke earlier this week! Stupid fans! GO JR GO!!!

Peter Jackson a ahack? Only a fool who knows NOTHING about movies would think that. Must come from the same Camp For Over Self Indulgent Have No Clue Wannabe Movie Critics that also claim that George Lucas can't direct. *yawn* Anyways, King Kong looks good. It might even be better. Then again, in my minority opinion, that is *usually* the case. "

NY Rangers are my favorite team even if they've sucked now for a long time . NY Mets, NY Giants, and NY Knicks are also tops. Toronto Blue Jays I like as well though I hate the fact they no longer try to field a winning team. Yes, I love the city of New York.

Rhomal's Commentary - Old school in NWN 2 - Part
Volourn replied to Rhomal's topic in Computer and Console
"I hope Obsidian can do that on purpose with NWN 2." NWN already does this by purpose. And, Obsidian has already confirmed a minimum of three henchmen at once being possible; if not more. -
Rhomal's Commentary - Old school in NWN 2 - Part
Volourn replied to Rhomal's topic in Computer and Console
For your five points... 1. I agree the OC henchmen were rather weak interatcion compared to BG2. SOU,a nd espicially HOTU were almost on par with that game, and they were much better than the BG1 npcs. Still, overall, this one area I agree with. NPC interaction should always be worked on. 2. I agree. I'm one of those anal people that feel that the need of supplies is a good thing. Of course, it shouldn't be taken to the extreme like food/water if used should be subtracted automatically when you rest. Though, that said, torches can and have played an important role in NWN. Though; not as often as I'd like. 3. Eh. The BT were always about ph@t lewt. Ultima wasn't much better. BG1 was okay; but still it had lots of ph@t lewt. Considering that in NWN1 you wer elucky to have a +5 weapon at 20th level (not all weapon types had that version), and in BG1 at 8-th level you'd have access to a +2 or +3 weapon; there isn't that much of a difference. The only bad thing NWN did with ph@t lewt is the overuse of barrels which has more or less been fixed with the expansions. Obviously, BIO got the message that barrels = bad. 4. Yeha, the OC handled resting horribly, imo, too. That said, once again, the expansions handled this just fine. From random encounters when resting to not being able to rest in ceratin areas it gives lots of restrictions. 5. No. I like the diea here; but in essence it's friggin' annoying to suggest. I'd rather not have to take 10 minutes to walk past an area that I've gone through or to run across town just to buy a few arrows. That's annoying. At least in pnp, you simply tell the DM, I go buy arrows and babing you get your arrows. Or, if you want to return the town after exploring the dungeon, you don't have to take the 3 hours of RT to get back to town, you just say I hea dback to town, the DM rolls for random encounters (if he feels the need to), and you get back to town within seconds of RT. And, having DMs only have access to shout is a bad decision for default. Mnay PWs are all about dungeon crawling, and party building so that shouldn't be taken away. Of course, there is already ways to disable shouts if one so chooses so you already have that option. In essence, your ideas are good; but they've pretty much been covered by NWN1 already.. -
"Interplay was only the publisher on a lot of those" Eh. No one claimed otherwise. Afterall, Interplay was/is a publisher. That's what they do. The thing is, they had a long history of making games. Great games, solid games, crappy games. They've done it all, and a lot of it before BIS or even BIO were on the radar blip.
-
"PST wasn't the requisite "quick" cash flow though. It has persistent sales....but sales alone don't indicate profits, as I would bet that a large portion of the people that played the game bought it when it was CDN$20 like me. Although I don't know when the bulk of the Fallout sales were, so they could be comparable. I'm just basing this on a loose memory of hearing Feargus talk about it on these boards." True; but FO was in the same boat as PST. Many of its sales were also through persistent sales; though for whatever reason it managed to get a sequel, talk of a second multipel times that's got canceled, as well as off shoot titles. That's one area where FO was more successful than PST.
-
"BIS did Fallout and Icewind Dale series and PS:T and as Fallout was a great sucess the other two ... not as much." Eh. IWD was a great success. And, PST sold just as much FO. Nice try; though.
-
"No, Volo is not right. Interplay never did anything interesting before BIS started developing CRPGs for them and without them, Interplay has no reason to exist." Wrong. You should know the hsitory ebfore spouting such nonsense. This isn't an insult about BIS; but a fact. Interplay has been around for a long time, and they have many successful and popualr games made before BIS existed. Nice try though.
-
"Interplay without BIS is like a brahmin without a head, its going nowhere." Eh. Interplay was around well before BIS was even a little splat in the colouring book. And, they were darn successful as well. In fact, in many ways, they were more successful before BIS's time than during and espicially after. R00fles!

With Obsidian, and BIO games; X-BOX still has the upper hand. Of course, I'll have to wait to buy it anyways since I can't afford the front end price, anyways...

What R Yo Fav 3 Games Of All Times

BG2, FO2, NWN. -
"This kid, like all rapists, should be castrated." If inhumane revenge is your goal, sure. If punishment, and justice is; no.

"The graphics rendering engine is completely redone from the ground up. That's 90% of your engine. The DM client is getting massive upgrades. The toolset is redone from the ground up. The rules are being redone to only support levels 1-20, and using 3.5 rules. They're really using very little of the original engine." Don't make things up. If tyhis were true, they wouldn't be using the Aurora at all. I have a funny feeling that when people see NWN2 in action that while the graphics shall be greatly improved, and the rulese themselves have changed, the gameplay will be the same style as the Aurora. To say the graphics engine is 90% of the engine is justt plain false. The Aurora as both Obsidian and the Witcher makes say is much more than graphics. How cna anyone take an Ender seriosuly when he throws out such a number like 90% with nothing to back it up.

"Duncan and the Spurs always choke under pressure though" That totally explains why they have three titles in the last 7 years, and he has 3 MVP awards. "The series would have went 7 games in Miami if Wade wouldn't have gotten hurt. The Pistons still would've won." No, they wouldn't have. Healthy Wade + Healthy Shaq = Unbeatable. "The Spurs aren't injury ridden so when the Pistons win it will prove they are the best in the NBA." I guess they couldn't prove they wer ebest in the NBA? HAHAHAHAHA! The arrogant, overrated (but still very good) Pistons' unearned delusional 'mystique' has been squashed. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Congratulations SPURS!

"I'm still waiting for one of them to name Volourn as someone they'd like to punch in the face." That goes without saying.

What company have you had a bad experience with?
Volourn replied to Ellester's topic in Way Off-Topic
Hey, he was banned by BIO so he is probbaly hateful of them so, and he canf rely call them cowards and Hitler wannabes at the Codex without fear of apprisal. " -
"If its like the first NWN OC then it won't be story based." A. You rated the OC 75% same as me. B. Whether you liked said story or not; the OC was still story based.

Depends on the day, and hour. With Rabbit, it all depends how much carrot intake he has gotten. <_< "Yes, Atari has to approve those patches, but Atari didn't spend one bloody cent on those patches." It take time to approve those powers which takes up hours which means it costs money for the process so yeah I bet Atari does spend money on those patches. "Aurora is okay for a 2D engine." It's 3D. People overrate flying, and jumping, and swimming. There's more to 3D than those things. As for a Sci Fi RPG; I'd buy it if it waa good. Maybe, Star Citedal will be that...
-
I could use it as the ending (or beginning) track in honour of them publishing NWN and making the module possible.
-
I should use it for my mod.
-
"Atari is known not supporting their developers for patches. Where does that leave NWN 2?" Eh. They've given support for BIO to release NWN patches. Afterall, they have to approve anything D&D related. I think any support that NWN2 recieves will be highly dependent on whether its financially supportable; not to mention the agreements signed between Atari, Obsidian, and Bioware. "Here's waiting for Dragon Age." And, here I thought you'd avoid DA because it was typical 'high fantasy'. R00fles! :D
