Oh, normally I agree. I like new stuff. But between $35K in tax payments plus a couple of big financial forays/dares, money is getting tighter all the time this year; so unless I discover how to get rich w/photograhy (ha..ha..ha!!!) saving $300 here and $500 there could help a lot. ie, I'd rather scrimp on things like the laptop than elsewhere. Hubby says Toshiba's a good brand, what about Dell? I only know cameras ... Craig's List here I come ...

I could use a small laptop for field work sometimes. That is, mostly it just has to be good enough power-wise to be able to load and view huge image files (I know it'll be slow), as well as run XP. I don't care about game playing or wireless. I do care about battery length, if any are a lot better than others. I'm guessing I'd be looking at 1-2ghz, more or less, on used ones? I figure I could find something cheap on ebay or similar, but I know nothing about laptops; what brands are more reliable (important if you're buying used I guess?) and what would be overpaying? Or am I better off just buying a cheap new one for $800-$1000? Example: This Toshiba 1.8/512 on ebay is bidding at $400 at the moment. Would it do what I want ok? Is that a decent price for what it is?

This morning I learned you can sometimes use CNAME & domain mapping to avoid having to purchase yet another seperate monthly webhost package, thereby saving a few bucks. Yeah! Now I'm sitting here comtemplating whether or not there really are people who would buy magnets, t-shirts, mousepads, tote bags, and coffee mugs with your photos on them.

Goto's Yacht ( Containment cells code)

The one from Bao-Dur is the only one you "build." The rest are either given to you as quest rewards, found, or 'dropped.' What type they are (double, single, etc) is random. -
That bit of interview has been considered/reported quite a few times already. If you'd like to discuss what ifs, rumors, and hopes for Kotor3, please do so in the Kotor3 thread. Thanks.

From the article: "Rights and responsibilities go together and I've yet to see a chimp imprisoned for stealing a banana because they don't have a moral sense of what's right and wrong. To give them rights is to give them something without asking for anything in return." That's my stance on it. I'm all for protecting species and animal protections against cruelty, but that's not quite the same thing as "human rights."

Yeah, I understand that - assuming your buddy knows the game better than you do, at least. The other factor is how much you like to learn/discover on your own vs. getting all the info from other people or websites. I had one buddy always telling me to go to a website to get answers, even early on. I like figuring things out on my own...most people I end up playing with are the same way, so I guess we're just old slow pokes.

Just Friends. Ryan Reynolds.

Too sick to do anything, not sick enough to prevent being bored from not doing anything. Our power company is running tests or upgrades or whatever today, so the power keeps cutting in and out for 30 minutes at a time, which isn't helping. But it's a pretty good day overall. :D This weekend I'm going to drive down 1 towards Monterey. Lots of places to take pictures. I think I've missed the best period for Anu Nuevo's seal time tho (further north), which is too bad.

King Ralph, an old silly and not very good comedy. But as usual, two of the characters were folk I didn't recognize then, but do now. The gal playing King Ralph's stripper love interest was the mum in the new Dr. Who, and the gal playing the royal princess arranged-match for Ralph was the wife in Nip/Tuck. I'm beginning to like watching old movies just for this recognize-the-actor stuff.

Man, I must have played a different WoW. Myself and the others I knew who played at the time all joked about how long it took to do quests, build up your skills, etc. I know there were ways to reach lvl 60 relatively rapidly, but if you weren't going that route it is not a speed-game.

Even when a card is supported, it doesn't always guarantee that it will work in practice for 100%, as there are always other variables (beyond drivers) that may conspire to make the card not work properly w/the game. It is possible that such a card will just need to be upgraded. As well as here, you can try the lucasarts tech forum. They have a couple pretty tech-knowledgable people there, perhaps you could post your dxdiag there, and if lucky, someone would be familiar with that card and possible issues regarding it specifically.

Yeah, there's a lot of articles on her and her "role" in the show; ie, public relations attempt...

Some integrated graphics and laptop chipsets will experience problems with this game including black screens, crashes and graphical glitches - whether or not the patch solved this issue for all such users w/the problems, I have no idea. Do you have such a system? What is the card, specifically?

My husband said something fairly similar re: Vorenus. It was pretty nonsensical. Pullo definitely was a major highlight in the series, all told. Which is funny because in the first part of the 1st season I was thinking he was just going to be the "big dumb muscle" character for the others to bounce off of. I hope the actor gets to do some more good roles in something soon.

Barbie Girl. Yes, I need to make some more mp3's, or something ...

I personally like ballroom dancing, but it's admittedly not normally very interesting to watch on TV so I've never bothered watching this reality/contest show before. But I checked out its re-cap episode tonight, and despite the predictable agony of bad hosts, guests who were there to advertise their own shows/albums (Donny Osmond, argh!), and Paula Abdul-like cheerleader judges, watching the actual "stars" dance was fairly entertaining. Apollo the speedskater was charming and a decent dancer. The tall basketball player can't really dance, but he's so utterly sweet looking you just want to hug him and cheer him on anyway. And when I saw Cliff from Cheers I burst out in a chuckle and was grinning so much I thought my chin would sheer off. I was mildly disappointed he didn't work in a foaming mug of beer and a mailmain suit into a routine, tho ... Ok, now that I've nauseated everyone ... anyone else think the show is kinda charming for it's amateur star dancers? Or has my heald cold caused me to lose my senses?

Screensavers...who else can run this beast?

Heh, I'd forgotten some cards use odd (or not common) phrases for it. I think my husband had an old card where it was lost in a bizarre set of sub-menus. -
Is anyone else in your faction a graphics person? Perhaps they could do something for you ... they'd be more likely to know what you want, I'd guess.

When I think of the Girl Scouts, I think of the group that sells cookies. Is the game logo different?

This was a great idea for an art challenge. Loved it. Sad to see it's the last, at least for a while, tho.

major let downs of the new trilogy
LadyCrimson replied to Knights&Darths's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I had my hands over my mouth during the entire Yoda/Palpatine "fight." I was also shaking uncontrollably and slapping my thighs with my fists. I have no idea if others were laughing, since I was too busy laughing myself. When the DVD came out, I replayed that scene a dozen times. -
The Falcon and the Hawk are both too small. I need my room, darnit. So I guess I'll go with the Destroyer too. As long as it's big. As to where .... I'm terrible with planet names, but anywhere that's green and not too city-fied. With cats. Must have cats.
