  1. Is it wrong that I want to make a Pillars of Eternity all-Supernatural chr. portrait party? Dean = Fighter Sam = Chanter Castiel = Priest Charlie = Rogue
  2. Better Call Saul 3rd episode - yeah, not quite as good but still entertaining. I keep wondering if they'll (eventually) bring back other BB chrs like Fring, to show how Mike goes from retired cop/parking attendant to working with/being so loyal to him.
  3. Unless one likes to play sp games with Steam offline mode ..I still use the old-fashioned method where I look at a clock before I start and look at it again when I turn it off each time. But yeah, I can understand wanting a more accurate timer. One of the funny things for me however is that I tend to wander off for semi-long periods with the game still running, so even then it's not very accurate.
  4. Turn on cable, turn to one of their all-music stations. Oh look, one for the '80s, cool. ..it's playing Janet Jackson Rhythm Nation from 1989, then some funky Paula Abdula song. ...nope, not my 80's. Back to my ultimate Police CD box collection.
  5. I need more mining/building/surviving or sandbox fun, but nothing else appeals. The Forest - too unavoidably combat/horror oriented Rising World - not far enough along yet Frontiers - Skyrim/daggerfall sandbox? ... hmm...nah, not going anywhere yet. Others - zombies, zombies, no building, no crafting, to far into rpg'ish territory, 2d/platformer, etc. ...is it hard to learn enough to use Unity? I should make my own game. Edit: Hm. Looking it up, maybe it's doable (for me) with some study. No no not to sell, just something stupid for me...
  6. Back on my IPS monitor. It may not be the bestest high quality IPS monitor, but ... I'm spoiled now. I love my IPS monitor. It's a little backward-tilted still (stupid cable placement) but it'll work. As long as I don't have to stare at that horrible other thing I have. Time now to curl up with Sherlock Holmes (not literally) and fall asleep.
  7. Always room for more funnies! ... in the new thread, over thisaway.
  8. Considering these "experts" mention surgery, I'm going to guess they aren't generally talking about people who need to lose 10-20 pounds. More like 60-100+ and at that point for a few to several years at least, with several serious failed attempts to lose. I highly doubt any ethical doc. is going to recommend something major like gastric bypass surgery as the only way to get/keep the weight off to someone who wants to lose a minimal amount of weight. While it may be true there is some kind of cellular or hormonal or whatever memory that makes it harder to take weight off once you've gained it, the main thing for most non-morbidly obese is actually sticking to diet/exercise changes forever. Forever can be a scary word to some. Drinking Slim-Fast and eating Jenny Craig isn't exactly something most people should/are going to stick with, but many keep doing those things vs. real changes, because they're not actually committed to changing lifestyle habits forever. They just want to look good this summer.
  9. If you have a city house with a yard, you can still grow your own vegies + a few fruit trees. Not an acre size farm, unless you're rich, but still a good size for single/family use. Not the same, I know, but you can.
  10. Me:"Monitor stand broke. " Hubby: "See those 4 holes? That's for a real monitor stand. Maybe I have one that'll work." Me: "My hero!" (few minutes later) Hubby: "Here's one." Me: "My hero!" (few minutes later) Hubby: "Hm, monitor cable placement gets in the way, panel would be tilted up too much." Me: " " Hubby: "Might have a couple different ones that would work (at office), I'll try later tonight." Me: "Ah. Poo. Well...you're still my hero. Just a delayed one."
  11. *playing a game* ... *monitor suddenly falls over towards keyboard, scramble to catch it* ...wtf? ... the plastic piece that goes from stand into back of monitor to hold panel up broke/split. lol. Now what. I don't suppose crazy glue could hold 27" lcd monitor weight? Man quality these days .... Edit: Plugged my 23" non-IPS into main PC. Oh, ugh, no no, this won't do anymore. Must...get...new...monitor.
  12. Eye Doctor: "Everything seems fine, you're just at a point where you may find you heal slower than you did once." Me: "So basically you're saying I'm getting old." Eye Doctor: "Yup." Me: "All righty then, good to know!" ...that taken care of, now time to take my slow healing old self to the autoshop, DMV, the accountant office, and the grocery store.
  13. Fury - I dunno, there were some great action scenes (ending especially), set pieces, characters were consistent, and it's the first time Shia LeGoof didn't annoy the heck out of me, but overall I found my attention wandering at times. Also, I'm no gun expert and I know tracer fire is a real thing, but all the super thick red and green in a couple brief bits made me think of Star Wars. So...B+ for effort but C+ for narrative storytelling. Also, for making WWII seem like sci-fi.
  14. There's rain that I've seen, but I'm not sure if it's variable or just a set pattern for certain areas. There was a discussion re: that in the beta form somewhere but I don't recall much of it at the moment.
  15. Not as techie-nerd, but that is likely why I like certain building/crafting/survival games lately. It's not for any "scary combat survival" aspects - if anything too much of that gets in the way. I used to like more dramatic or decision making games but now I just want to search for the perfect base spot, build, and boil water. Apparently, I need to go camping again. ...think I'll rent Fury tonight then go to bed early (hopefully). Have a long day tomorrow.
  16. So I scratched my cornea's some days back. Nothing too serious I'm told but one eye worse than the other. Patch and drops for one eye for a couple days, the other was just "don't rub it". That eye is fine again, but the worse one is still an irritation. Doesn't hurt too much anymore but still light sensitive/a bit blurry at times and feels a bit like there's grit in there. Guess I'll go have them check it again make sure it's on course. I'm lazy about most doctor stuff, but vision I don't mess with.
  17. Stranded Deep update made sharks more aggressive. People whined. So they changed it back and now they're sort of in the middle. I still find them too easy. And people are still whining it's toooo haarrrrrd (and not realistic shark behavior). It wasn't even as remotely as hard/annoying to The Long Dark's wolves, either. I get the feeling the dev's had this idea for a game but their early access release (missing a lot of planned features) made people used to it being more of a casual island vacation/diving for treasure sim so now dev's are evil if they make sharks very threatening. lol.
  18. The Walking Dead : yawn, boring episode. I get the grief/downtrodden/worse before the dawn stuff, but dragging it out for a full episode seemed a bit much. The aspect of traveling/being hungry bits I liked tho. And ... darnit, that wasn't Morgan. But still cool.
  19. Went for a walk, tooled about town, had half a deli sandwich, briefly checked out the new hotfix patch for Stranded Deep, ate the other half of a now-cold leftover deli sandwich, currently settling in for some Walking Dead.
  20. I don't like labels and didn't call myself a feminist even back in the late 70's/80's. Even then for many it tended to bring forth images of, say, "hippies" in shirts with printed slogans on their chests and that is not who I am at all, so I've never liked the term. I am for equality in legal, political and social rights, whether gender or race or other based, but this does not translate into what is often popularly viewed/depicted in media/seen as "feminism." It's not about a single gender, it's about a general concept of principle, like "morality."
  21. Dungeon Keeper 1, Remastered, that's one I'd buy! ...oh wait, EA, never mind.
