  1. I'd say "garbage" and "mediocre" is worlds apart. As for DICE, as far as I know, they treated their employees quite well and supported their games for a fairly long time, which would elevate them above "garbage" in itself. I'm speaking merely about their products, mostly since BF3 and somewhat of their philosophy/marketing. It's garbage.
  2. Lol, as expected. DICE is garbage.
  3. Yeah, I wouldn't play most of those games for free. It's a two steps back, one step sideways, then forward type thing. In theory, a fully immersive RPG would seem cool but would cost too much to produce at that fidelity with the amount of content RPG players are accustomed to. About the best thing I've seen amounted to a point n click type puzzle adventure reimagined.
  4. Why are you even here then? Shouldn't you at least be a 20ft pole's length away from the forum?
  5. Well, I hope the writing and dialogue options are more entertaining in the meat of the game. The demo felt pretty placeholder and the story is anything but inspiring in it's evil corp redundancy. Of course, the execution could render that complaint more null than void.
  6. So much stupid. Microsoft acquisition has been recent, as far as the word goes they are still figuring things out, and Outer Worlds doesn't have anything to do with Microsoft. That project has been long on the making. Decision to limit camera options for purely FTP has been made by Obsidian due to budget limitations. Who knows, maybe with big backing of Microsoft it would have 3rd person view, just to match current "Bethesda" model. Will be good when this influx of new posters/fans diminishes. A couple of weeks more and these irrational posts will drop substantially.
  7. Yeah, could say that but also part of Cain's world reactivity as well.
  8. Automated in presenting it, obviously, most likely after a certain number of repeated outcomes.
  9. The demo shows the system at work. Pretty much like in New Vegas, after killing so many cazadors you get an automated perk. It's based off how you play, not a random event.
  10. Yeah, and given the demo, other than the less than appealing aesthetic, the writing isn't very good and already loaded with tough guy/gal speak. On the other hand, the C&C looks to be promising. Just a mixed bag so far, but it is the first showing so we must cut them some slack.
  11. Maybe it's not the game for all of you then. Plenty of third person games out there for you to play and plenty more to come.
  12. I'm not convinced an FPS game can make for a good RPG. The two game concepts seem antithetical. I guess we'll see. The 'controversial' part of my post was my positive reaction to the prospect of a new DA game. I very much liked and enjoyed playing all three DA games, yes including DA2 for which I paid full price and felt I fully got my money's worth in spite of its shortcomings. Vampire: Bloodlines. Though 3rd person required for melee, I played and still play that game exclusively first person as it's far more immersive for it's particular aesthetic. Ah I see, the sentences and emphasis aren't in order then.
  13. FO:NV - Obsidian's best by a large margin. Harder to choose 2nd or 3rds. Alpha Protocol and KOTOR 2 both are a mix of highs and lows. The remainder are more middling, but I like Stick of Truth since it stands out as something different from the rest of the catalog, plus it's just a more complete game than either AP or KOTOR 2, and unfortunately KOTOR 2 doesn't stand up for me. Didn't much enjoy the last time I played it - flaws are too apparent. So.. FO:NV Stick of Truth AP
  14. That's never been a controversial issue here before. Most here prefer isometric, third person, then first person quite a distant last. Personally though, I'm glad it's not third as there's plenty of those and an extreme lack of good FPS games in recent years, especially in the RPG department.
  15. Indoors certainly looks better than the outdoors. Maybe the bulk of the game is just staying inside. Fear the pink trees.
  16. Nah, I'm in the same boat. Disappointed it's just a generic looking, video gamey sci-fi with bright paint. Really not into that brand of aesthetic vomit.
  17. Lots of good/unique quests would save it for me. Another quest rich game is long overdue.
  18. I didn't even get much of the Bioshock/20th century vibe, moreso this randomly generated sci-fi colorful playdough flavor that is common now.
  19. Looks like modern Fallout and Spore had a baby. Not too crazy about the aesthetic but the night visual without the wild colors is pretty nice.
  20. Hopefully a shade more than a teaser level announcement but I won't hold my breath, or maybe I should.
  21. Well I now actually viewed the ad and yeah, it's more oriented with Arcanum/Fallout/Bioshock/Dishonored than the cold, bland Mass Effect universe. From a sci fi point of view, this is about as good as it gets. Hope Boyarsky really fleshes out the art. Now I'm hyped.
  22. Been waiting a few years for this. Now only a week away. Has to be partially sci fi at least. Hopefully a hybrid of some kind, linking traditional old world and the new as opposed to a fully realized, sterile, generic, cold, futuristic setting.
  23. Keep em coming. I won't be playing it for a few years if ever. Possible to nab some screens of story related characters or too cumbersome?
  24. Lol.. Hate to be a broken record, but yeah, that is also one of my gripes with Rockstar and open world games and why I'm just bored with them. Interactivity is so lacking despite the sandbox element. Just comes off counterintuitive and as a result, largely stale. At least that's something the Elder Scrolls/Bethesda does right. Much easier to roam in those games than any other sandbox type.
  25. That's Rockstar for you. Their design style leaves zero interest to replay.
