  1. Whatever Cain and Boyarsky are working on uses Unreal. Personally, an Arcanum style game in that engine would be more than satisfying. Probably much too big and good to be true though.
  2. AP's budget was around $8 million, if not more, from what I remember. Yeah, I got the sense of your leaning towards spiritual successor but I liked the voice acting and some of the production around that game. It drove some of the fun of the C&C as well. An indie version just wouldn't perk my interest as much, is all, though it could certainly improve some areas(no lame hacking mini games nor console UI, perhaps more Hitman in confrontation but I doubt that)and extend others(more entangled web of contacts)it ultimately sounds a little dry for me.
  3. At this point I think a spiritual successor through crowdfunding would be the best way to go about it. I would hate to have a publisher attached to what essentially is a niche game trying to modernize it or make it more like something that sells. I already hate SquareEnix for doing that to Deus Ex. Crowdfunding wouldn't come close to covering what the original cost to make though. Can't say I'd be too enthused at the idea. The game needs some real dollars thrown behind it.
  4. I know. It wasn't underrated "here". Not sure what you expect. That was years ago. It had cross over appeal for people who's into massive amounts of pointless loot, and coop play.
  5. Yeah, it wasn't my thing either. Too much nerd humor and overall generic despite the flashy cartoon graphics. Only fun with friends really, but I didn't bother. And Lol at it being underrated here. It was hyped as much as any game when it was released, 8 years ago.
  6. I don't see the problem. Become a nazi/commie sympathizer, don't be surprised when it's harder to get a job. Can't have it both ways. Nobody's happier than the left about it. Finally, some right wingers to join your crazies!
  7. First time back watching GoT since 2015, season 5 and it feels like I've barely missed a thing. Thanks to a dredging plot, I can just finish it from here.
  8. Not buying the physics nor tactics, so I can't take your flying dragons seriously.
  9. Yeah. Fights/battles have always seemed like an afterthought/cheap/plot device.
  10. Why care so much about realism in a show about dominant women and dragons?
  11. Meh, I always believed that quality of content beats its quantity - and when it comes to EP1, I've finished that one like 4 times when it was released. Then again, it didn't really bring anything new to HL2, and it most definitely does not stand up to comparison with content of Orange Box. Much better off to have gotten it in the bundle for sure. Just screwing around with the ragdoll physics is fun for a bit, and hanging out with Alyx, but it just seemed like a Valve cash grab, ultimately. Also interesting to compare the gaming landscape of the times and with today's ultra cheap sale prices thanks to none other than the same company.
  12. Short side is an understatement. It's basically a long demo. Cheap? Eh, stand alone price was $20 or get it in a bundle. Not exactly a bargain.
  13. Lol, I just did a quick playthrough of HL2 episode 1, and by that I'm talking 3-4 hrs content max. I remember everyone hating it since it was so short but I didn't remember it being quite that short. Amazing that thing was even sold. Unreal, but a good glimpse into the future of DLC ripoffs.
  14. Ah, looks like Supergiant has gone the way of quirky audio. Too bad.
  15. Great in Ed Wood. RIP.
  16. Nightcrawler, after being in my watch list for a couple of years. Good reminder of why I don't watch many modern movies. Blunt, B movie level direction/writing and a camera man with zero depth of field. How can a movie, shot predominantly outdoors, still feel so closed in? Cheap, modern digital age of no finesse - that's how.
  17. Through with Twin Peaks. The ratio of bad scenes to good is just far too out of balance for me to continue. It's the kind of bad that makes me almost see Lynch's earlier work in a different light. Self indulgence at it's worst.
  18. Bad joke is a bad joke, but not the reason for the troll comment. In what little I've seen, the poster enjoys forum reaction and wears it like a scribbled badge of honor. Solely my mistake for feeding the troll, however.
  19. Pee odor? Most cringeworthy thing I've read in a while. Incredible. Thank you. It was just a joke but I'm glad it had the desired affect on at least one person Whatever you say, troll.
  20. Pee odor? Most cringeworthy thing I've read in a while. Incredible.
  21. Can we just get something modern for a change or must that come with cyber augments like the past must also come with elves, dwarves, sorcery and crap?
  22. Lol! That shotgun was awful. I tried some sneaking, as you have to in spots, got around the enemy, unloaded the shotgun point blank into the back of an enemy's head, he immediately turns around, unloads half a clip into me and I'm dead. I had to quit the game at that point and pick it up later. "Realism" in art turns out to create it's own rules of reality. Mostly, it just misses the mark for me.
  23. Yeah, they pretty much just described their own video as clickbait. Agree about saturation and micro transaction, but not so much about other things as bugs and marketing have been part of the industry for years and there's also no detail as to why there's a storm of mediocrity, i.e. developers playing it safe for fear of backlash, making games with fan service as priority.
