Yes i save scrum to get them at the above places. Basically you have to save before you try to open the chest. If you dont get it, reload then i usually travel on the world map until the next day then come back and try again. And repeat until they show up. There is a random loot list table that tells you what day they show up but i cant remember if its still accurate. If it is you can just keep travelling until you hit the day it says and then open it up again.

One thing is you dont have to talk with gold plated NCPs , they are backer content. The game was designed with 'no bad build principle' and you could make almost any combination of classes and attributes work. So i would recommend going with a concept and class and just have fun. You should be fine. Something to learn for combat is to identify the types of defenses you have to penetrate for your skills/spells/attacks to be effective and learn how to debuff and or crowd control the enemy. Conversely, understanding what the enemy is debuffing and crowd controlling you with and how to counter those affects. Just straight going for damage and more damage will hurt you sometimes and prolong fights or get you beat more than you need to. There is a beginners guide in the build forum that explains a lot of the mechanics.

I have been wondering what is stopping someone from creating mod turning casters into per rest casting like POE1. not sure if in POE2 this is just not possible, but if not maybe this challenge add code to allow modders to mess with this. So i could see a mod that would just bypass the challenge altogether -
I wonder how this will work out. I would think the casting resources need to be rebalanced (i know obsidian wont do this) since just turning to per rest would mean you have very few spells across multiple battles. May require a mod to balance something like this. If caster still only have two cast per level that would seem to punishing but would be interesting what community comes up with. Reading the description, i wonder if this mean all per encounter abilities turns to per rest? That is how i am reading it. I would think the part of the community that wanted per rest stuff was only wanting for casters but having for everyone would make a tough challenge. Maybe be fun though. Also is there ways to heal outside of combat besides resting right now. The players can also avoid hitting the cap by not playing the game at all. The only way to win, is to deny it battle. Oh great. Are spoiler-warnings no longer in fashion. *Stops watching War Games* Lul i havent actually beat the game, so if there is some meaning in what i said its accidental and also i am quoting Stargate SG1 here which i get is derived from other sources like war games. this thread is getting so nerdy im a little ashamed LOL.
