Welcome to the club. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yarrr!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> YARR, MATEY!!
-
Check out the walkthrough video (NOT THE TRAILER): http://www.lucasarts.com/games/swkotor_sithlords/ The first area, on telos, show's the PC jumping in full animation.

More games from Obsidian!! What's so odd about that, though? They gotta start planning sometime...
-
Sentinels get general defensive powers A few of the one's Guardians get, a few the Consulars get... or just their own set would be preferrable. They're already sort of a nuked class, just because they can do multiple things.

What's with the silence?

*a very, VERY large hairball comes from Nightcleaver's mouth, and his hair seems to be prematurely balding in random areas. His fingernails appear ripped from their sockets* I already have. -
Revan: Male or Female?
nightcleaver replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That's true - but it's more a thing of context than of what actually happens. If you're romancing Carth, for example, his reaction to who you really are makes more sense, and is more dramatic. Just as an example. -
What's with the silence?
nightcleaver replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
(PSST! LucasArts marketing is responsible for this, not Obsidian) But yeah, something new would be cool. -
Oops! Too bad! She's alive...
-
Well, yeah.. if you don't know how to use that combo of skills and abilities and feats. I didn't like either of the Jedi classes as much as the Sentinel, though, and their "weakness" seemed to make little difference except on paper. That probably has something to do with the difficulty level of the game, but still... Yeah, if you want to be really uber in one area rather than good in multiple, follow the "proper line" of prestige classes. Just my two cents - I can't let this be taken over by one opinion

I think she looks like she could be a 16 year old or thereabouts. The quote was something like: Check out the thread: "A dark atris?" That's the ONLY, I repeat THE ONLY official info we have on who isn't atris. Do you see how you might have been confused? I've never even heard the idea offered that Atris isn't even in the game. From Akari's post, it's vague as to what her name actually is, but it's pretty much a given that the white haired girl we see will be in the game. It's possible they totally scratched and renamed the character from her original form, which was allegedly named "Atris" (but what would they know?), but they had already been planning and even making the game for a while (I think the idea is that they develop the game in stages; planning, creation, polishing) before Akari even had a chance to make this post, so I doubt it. I definitely agree that people shouldn't assume, for absolutely certain, that that's atris or that we know anything about her. In fact, I don't think anyone's doing that, and surprisingly enough none of the opinionated jerk-offs on the game media sites have said anything of the sort. So when people say "Atris", well... why don't we just call the masked sith 'Fred'? We don't know anything about the character, but are those polls really to be taken absolutely seriously? A fair majority voted for T3 as the romance option in the one above, after all.
-
Ahh, but you missed the poll at the top? Well, gee... we could do with a language filter that works, or maybe a Moderator? (shakes the Moderator) No, seems to be nothing but spare parts in there. You know, intermittent reinforcement DOES work as a theory, although it doesn't work if that reinforcement is only an occasional exception. (You may have a life, but this really isn't working. Thanks for being more active than the other moderators, anyway, and putting forth an effort) More on topic: Have hoods been declared out, or has it just been the original, "We don't know if it'll make it, but probably not"? It would be nice, I guess, but I'm not too fanatical 'bout the idea.
-
... and it was just some stupid kid playing a prank. The end.
-
That doesn't mean the player has control over that - just that a character might change class partway through the game, whether by PC intervention or not.
-
Indeed, it just raises more questions... In the end, they won't even put her in the game , and we'll finally figure out both character's were just a gimmick to make us think they were writing a story for the game all along, when really it'll all just be a REALLY LONG pazaak tournament - with cheetos and fancy graphics, of course. Yumm... CHEETOS!!
-
It may very well be derived from what you say, but think about this - maybe her life is gloomy, maybe any number of things about her are gloomy, or maybe the name's designed to bring to mind some painful contrast of her personality and environment, or perhaps as some sort of Cinderellan signature to contrast her with the opposite of what she is. Hmm... evil queen/step mom gives her a mean name, and the PC discovers the real person inside Well, that's pretty far-fetched, but they use imagination just as we do. To me, though, it just sounds like a cool name. Knowing all the limitations of sound combinations that actually sound good as attached to a person, it seems reasonable to say that it's just a coincidence. The similarity of the female form of that latin word to Atris is striking, but that could have a lot to do with the dev's naming a female character. The regular form really looks nothing like 'Atris', and like you said, Malak mean's water buffalo or somesuch in Turkish - so what does it mean, if anything? They might have actually taken her name from some far-off swedish dialect Anyway, no one has the intention of really saying that she's atris - not that I think - just as we don't really know that she'll be romanceable. We assume that, though, and it's easy to see why. Mission was pretty, though, but she was 14 and thus not romanceable - in a couple pictures, Atris looks comparatively young, (in myopinion) not to mention like a very up-standing Jedi sort. So there's a chance she's not romanceable, but should that stop us? Just continuing along the line of thought that she IS romanceable doesn't mean that we assume she is, though many times people forget that there's a chance she isn't in all their speculation. I'll admit that even I have forgotten the possibility that that isn't even her name, but until then that's the nicer and easier thing to call her. So what if she's not romanceable? So what if she's not really Atris? We'll still end up thinking both things, though I'd be surprised if anyone argued against the possibility of her not being Atris

Aw, what's not to love about such an adorable little piece of metal? T-3, definitely. Did you see what his intelligence stat was? A good deal higher than anyone else's. It makes up for the lack of physical attributes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly! It's not about looks, it's about what's inside.

In any case, I thought "old" was unattractive because of the wrinkles and sagging and general facial structure, not just that they were old. Even if she is old, she doesn't look it, so what does that matter? Do you realize that in fantasy setting, 25 year old males might pursue a 125 year old elf? Maybe she's a different race or branch of human? Heck, if she were a different race or type of human, doesn't that pretty much mean traditional rules of when you get white hair are gone? What if she had natrually fuschia hair? Would that mean anything? Her hair is fairly thick, in any case, and not thin and curly like any old ladies I know of. Most old ladies don't have hair that's as thick or quite as white, and usually hair becomes grey with old age. Of course, looking at her eye and hair color together, she could be some sort of albino.

Female Sith Lord?
nightcleaver replied to Idunnowhattochoose's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
http://www.lucasarts.com/games/swkotor_sithlords/ Go there. See the wallpaper? I was, and have always suspect, that those lumps on his head were just fancy, ceremonial blobs that were part of his costume. Because why? Because, well, the same old mask gets kind of boring, and this really does look antique and evil at the same time, not to mention the large triangular headdress thing makes him look even larger, the man/woman being large in the first place without a head ornament to accentuate size. As to why it's on his head in that place, would it look as intimidating on his waste or ankles? If you wear a hat, it makes you look a bit taller. Not to say your idea was totally impossible, of course - but don't overestimate the power of real cultural influences. -
Is Kreia even a Jedi?
nightcleaver replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Let me put it this way: She has Jedi abilities, just not a Jedi. See? A jedi is just a title; there are countless forms of force users out there, the only similarity is that they all use the force. That's how I interpreted it, anyway. -

Is Kreia even a Jedi?
nightcleaver replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
She's not technically a jedi, is what has been said. That doesn't mean she can't be your Force mentor, nor that she can't use a lightsaber. In fact, I remember mention of her having dialogues every now and then to confront you about certain decisions, along the lines of telepathy. -
Atton Rand won't be gay, and I think it's pretty plain why Akari didn't respond to this. It would just be silly to get involved. But that's fine; let's get a little more on topic, or just leave it completely. It could very well be Kreia, I guess. If it's been said that she finds and heals you. Plus, it makes more sense that two Force sensitives would survive such a strange, mysterious calamity.

How did you always imagine KOTOR 2 to be?
nightcleaver replied to Tyrell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Blah, I didn't want to change the topic. But yeah, overall I'm hoping/expecting this to follow somewhat along the lines of PS: T and be a better story. No offense to Bio-people; I know that sort of fantasy has a wide market, and I respect that people like that sort of story more. I don't, though; there were a number of situations (this could've been bad VO, I'm not sure) that I just felt like the writing/VO was trivializing the situation. The outcasts on Taris, the tortured and killed wookie on Kashyyk, the confrontation with Bandon, and more I can't think of right now. There was a somewhat cartoony feel to the first one, and I'm hoping/expecting the second one to at least have a darker cartoonish feel, with a little more of the feel of Episode 5. -
what were you guys wanting him to clear up, anyway?
