I don't understand why some people are so quick to completely believe to one source (being it one or the other) even to the point of asking for a refund and damage the company (and the people that work there). Don't you think that's not really fair? If you invert the situation around, would be fair to hurt CA and the company whose working with based on speculations?

I've just come to the realization that some people really like "I WIN" buttons and shortcuts that took away choices. Pretty depressing.

I don't think that is necessary, linking steam account and adding codes should simply add the dlcs license to your account. For instance I have Deadfire on gog but the dlc redeemed on my steam account nonetheless.

Portraits II
Daled replied to Amentep's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Thanks, I didn't know they updated her too. I'm really happy that's definitely better, won't mod any companion portait now. -
Interesting topic. Just a couple of weeks ago I was thinking about going dual-boot and using mainly Linux but it ended up "badly" (the bootloader wouldn't install), I'm surely going to try again shortly though. I'm not completely new to Linux but I'm still pretty noob, I have experience with programming but again I'm no professional. Since you all use Linux daily I have a couple of questions if you are kind enough to help me. - Should I choose a more user friendly distro? Which one? Something with deb package support? I was planning on installing Mint since I found it a little more intuitive than Ubuntu while still being similar with a lot of documentation online. - The savegame files of PoE 1/2 are incompatible between OS? Can't I copy and load them in windows version? - Is advisable to mount /home on another partition? What happens if I change distro? Should I format it in that case or being made only of data files means is "portable" between different versions of the same distro/other distros?

Achievements?
Daled replied to Nexrus's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Also as far as we know from the fig campaign there's something called "Berath's Blessing", it should be a feature in which you spend a credit earned with achievements to alter something in the game (e.g. add a bonus to a character, make something more difficult or even more radical things like skipping the prologue) that should help with the replayability of the game, adding fun factor/challege/customization to following runs. -
Pre-order questions
Daled replied to Tanjaxxx's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
To be fair, Galaxy client (optional) has achievements and patching is usually within the same day/hours. Let's not forget that with GOG you don't need an account, a client or an internet connection to play the game, also the devs actually get more money from every sold copy. -
The magic orb squished by the book with sparkles coming out of the pages is one of the best tiny details I've ever seen.

It happens when you have to deal with unreasonable people that sometimes even offend you instead of trying to understand what you are actually saying. Doesn't take much to avoid these things, just respect your interlocutor and have a bit of common sense. To be honest I'm impressed that he (and other people in the industry) is usually pretty calm and willing to explain even when he's a target of random hatred. I mean there are places on the web where people do just that, unload the frustration in their lives (look at a famous RPG site that anyone knows...).

Not what I would expected (even announcement wise with all of them already planned with a release date) but I'll definitely wait to judge, they can be awesome or not, we cannot now. Anyway I'd be completely fine with them being a little smaller than one part of WM with the same "tail" of contents, meaning 1/2 companion/s, higher level cap with more abilities.

Preload
Daled replied to sundevil619's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Considering that the games is likely going to be much bigger -based on requirements on steam store page something along six times larger- than the previous one, I really hope so at least in steam (fingers crossed for gog but very unlikely). -
We always give for granted that all the codes are going to be released before the game, but what if this isn't the case? While highly unlikely there's this possibility.

I totally agree with you, they'll probably ramp-up the codes with the marketing and hype, I was just saying the 23 seem like a lot and we shouldn't exclude that we missed some

Well the game releases in 21 days, I find a little unlikely that all the remaining 23 are still to be released, we got 32 in 4 months

While I completely agree with you that most people, even in this environment of hardcore old school rpg fans, prefer full VO, I also think that your line of thinking can be a bit misleading. Save from some outliers (D:OS2 for instance) those are all games with enormous budgets behind, truly meant to be palatable to everyone and to achieve that they can't shy away from full VO. I think that a ranking like that, especially from a "generalist" portal like IGN, doesn't really tell all the story.
