Bastila definitely. Kreia some old witch with only one hand, and Mira is not really a Jedi (or just a half-Jedi...)

Yeh, I'll have to keep an eye out next time. The miniexplosion effect didn't help...

Nah, he stole it from Homer...I mean Elvis Jagger Abdul-Jabar. I fealt really annoyed when I finally finished Peragus, but then found out I still didn't have a ship. At least escaping Taris led you into a Jedi and Dantooine being a good proving ground for testing the Jedi aspect of KotOR.

I agree with you that the forums aren't a place for anger but they are a place for discussion (and I suppose debate) on your point of view. KotOR 2 wasn't a disaster, but of the bits which didn't turn out right (cut ending, changed plots, suprising character usage like Atris/Nihilus) and all that is a combo of LucasArts and Obsidian. I've been in a couple of these threads and my view is that LucasArts may have been overconfident with just 1 year, and Obsidian didn't help by not knowing what could or couldn't be done early on (thus the cuts and changes throughout the process) knowing they only had 1 year.

Things you would've added to KOTOR2
dufflover replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I said scrap G0-T0, except that's not really "adding" is it? -
Any artwork of the characters/multiple chars?
dufflover replied to Syphex's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
On a side, too bad this artwork never meant anything in the game, just like a lot of the other art stuff. -
Ok, so what's the deal with Darth Nihilus?
dufflover replied to Jediphile's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Just a consequence of either a changed story or just fooled by pre-release marketing (ie, the main logo). For instance from the flash animations, I thought Atris was the LS choice for a player, and Nihilus the DS outcome, since they made such an effort to line up the eyes and sabers for the fading. -
I will spoil the ending for you all!
dufflover replied to BilboKnows's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
A lot people still watched the Matrix knowing the ending was "what the heck?" because they knew that most of the movie would be good action. Same here... And some because they liked the original....like KotOR. -
I think blaster shootouts are great to watch, although in the end for tough bosses, it'll end up being melee/lightsabers.

This is just an example of how Obsidian let you chose somethings and assumed others (or else there'd be too many possibilities to cover). I like it though how they've assumed the respective romances were done. Nice to see Bastila made it through the K1-K2 transition without stopping my Revan.

Battlefront is the FPS. Galactic Battlegrounds is the RTS. How about Star Wars Galaxies - I've never played it, but that looks like a large scale RPG game.

Force Wound/Void and Force Bonds
dufflover replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
In all the movies so far, the larger or tougher something is to move, the more force strength it takes (same as more strength in lifting bigger things). Yoda had to concentrate mighty hard to keep that pylon or whatever it was from crushing Obi Wan and Anakin in Episode II. It's not the person's size, it's the objects' size that matters. -
Epic Battles = Star Wars BattleFront. I think that's why it was created in the first place.
-
Get all the Ranged feats obviously and high dex. I don't know if you're gonna use force powers - that would ofcourse make the whole deal alot easier. Mandalorian Disintegrator...yeh baby! My Mira wasn't a Jedi but she did pretty well with that the that pistol (paired with I another Mandalorian pistol).

For those of you who hated the ending...
dufflover replied to briand2's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The KotOR (will eventually be) Trilogy has so far focused on the journey on Revan, and is not the same jist as the Star Wars trilogy. Like the above posts say: - Episode V is "what will happen", KotOR 2 is "what the hell?" - Episode V (or more if you're a Revan/Bastila fan, Episode III), all have characters from the previous episode as major roles, where KotOR 2 only continues with Revan...without even being their in person. I sorta think of it as the Matrix movies - mostly good, I didn't hate the ending, but wasn't anything to promote either. -
Basilisk War Droid: Artistic License
dufflover replied to MonkeyFoo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
This is a pretty minor inconsistancy. There is a thread elsewhere which talks about how you didn't ride it down like Canderous described in K1, something like that. If you're concerned (or wanna take an interest) about sketches not matching the ingame product, then go for the Atris concept art differences. Now that's something which didn't turn out fully right. The clothing was modelled ingame well but the head was a tiny bit off. btw, first time I saw the droid it reminded me of a Hercules fighter from the FreeSpace games. -
KOTOR2: Hottest Female Character
dufflover replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
1. Atris (concept art) - maybe not sexy but she's got the whole "wedding/angelic beautiful" memorable look, and the good-looking custom robes ala Bastila 2. Handmaiden 3. Mira Visas Marr (Kelly Hu VO) has great voice but character has no eyes. (but no one can outgun Bastila) -
Force Wound/Void and Force Bonds
dufflover replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yes, there is evidence to show that people can sense less of him (or differently anyway). A supporting thing is that Visas was the only one who could detect you - and she pretty refined in her force sense. However, it's not like any of the Masters (except Vash) and Bastila , were detected. Yes, they were on planets with heaps life and all the reasons given in the game, but when you look at the whole scope of detecting a force user, the Exile did not display any exceptional properties of being hidden. -
If it's the stuff about Party-members fighting each other and all the rest of that "well-known" stuff then yes, I know about those, but nothing on cut areas of Malachor, unless those areas were involved with the cut dialog.
-
It was presumably during that scene that G0-T0 forcibly installed his own triggered commands into the Remote, predicting that Bao-Dur had done so beforehand. That was what allowed him to immobilize the Remote on Malachor V. In other words, he probably only "dismantled" the Remote, installed his little subprograms directly, then rebuilt it, good as new. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If that was the case, it wasn't done very well - a lightning bolt zapped it to pieces!

Force Wound/Void and Force Bonds
dufflover replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The point I'm trying to raise is that Kreia was working towards nothing (Working off a false theory) Maybe I should've tweaked the question some more. I guess it's pretty clear that the writers made it exist, but would you want to disprove it? -
Who knows how much time there is between control of character and the cutscene Yeh, but when Bao-Dur, G0-T0 and the Remote didn't say anything about it at all...

OK, those of you from the BioWare forums or those who have clicked in my sig would have tried Pazaak Online or Pazaak Arcade, two VB programs I created (Pazaak Online has not changed in a while). Anyway, I keep thinking of things I could do to but never get around to testing its feasability. For instance I want to add a K2 look and the K2 cards to it, but I haven't yet, and I've also had thoughts about converting the animation to use simple 2D DirectX (which I know nothing about) and even merging the two programs (Arcade/Online) together. Anyway, I thought I'd open a "suggestion/feedback box" to give people a place to post comments or things they want, or to give me some help on choosing what to do first (of the above things). Bug reports are also very handy. As a guide for the time for each of the above: DirectX-ing: it would look exactly the same but open up more effects like the shading-highlight you get in K2 - I currently don't know how to do that. But since I know nothing about it, it would take some time to learn. I don't even know how much (hopefully little) modification my prog would need. Benefit (to you players): less volatile/flickery animations, and hopefully more effects in general Time: Long K2 Look (no DirectX work): right now both programs use the old K1 look, but K2 now wastes little space and the cards are now more readable. Keep in mind I don't actually have the font they used, but nevertheless it should be easier to read and hopefully the serifs don't get too big when the font size goes up. There are two issues - the new cards and new look. The new look will take ages to re-align all the card graphics and stuff to the background. The new cards are well, unpredictable in-terms of hurdles or even a plan to do them. Plus I would have to quickly fit them into the K1 card screen look. Benefit: K2 cards and K2 Interface Time: Interface will be boring, maybe long, major delay will be with any new card troubles Merge: Put Pazaak Arcade/Pazaak Online into the same program. The purpose is that future upgrades (say, K3 interface or new cards), will only have to done once from now on, and centralised "engine" for say game timings and draw methods. Right now, Pazaak Online is well, obselete in it's game mechanics and player file structure, so bringing it up to a Pazaak Arcade compatable level (while making sure the Multiplayer system doesn't screw up) will be hard. Benefit: Only one download, and singleplayer and two-player packaged together. Time: Ages, probably. Lots of conflict sorting and most will be planning.

Jedi resemble which eastern class?
dufflover replied to stormcloud777's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I've heard of a Samurai but nothing else. I know from I think movie commentary that the Jedi were modelled on Japanese/Samurai stuff (kinda obvious from the robes and the padawan hair from EpI/EpII). What are Kensai, Sohei, Bushi, Shukenja and Wujen: I have no idea. I do know what Samurai and Hentai " are though. -
Epic battles are more suited to RTS or FPS games. However, I do consider blaster shootouts to be pretty fun to watch. But when it comes to boss fighting, I'm definitely a JA fan.
