Wouldn't it be Bitchzila since she's a woman? (and she only has one 'L' but Godzilla has 2 ) I see the point that pre-romance redeemed Bastila would not make a good wife, but she's still got the vital physical...assets. After you rescue her on the Star Forge (and not even she can deny a rescue here :"> ), you would assume she drops the nag factor. So, future voters, if you're put off by Bastila's nagging, think later on...

Light-saber trick??
dufflover replied to kitty_with_a_lightsaber's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Normally you can't add two of the same crystal into the same lightsaber - usually it won't appear in the list. However I have had one situation where I have been allowed to pick the duplicate crystal (I think Upari, or something with 1-6 damage), and what happened was that when I selected it, it would appear, well, normal, as if both crystals were there for a 2-12 bonus. I hit assemble, and once I re-entered the workbench, the duplicate crystal wasn't there, but the damage bonus remained in the stat window. When I put another crystal into the now empty spot, the stats all reset to normal. -
There's also "Spice" in Sid Meier's Pirates!. I just consider spice to be like all the seasoning powders/additives around, and drugs technically do this as well. A modern day example is KFC's "11 Herbs & Spices". In Star Wars, Spice is probably referring to the drugs only.

Do any voice files exist for these scenes? I think I read somewhere they do, but since they no-one ever said where (which exact folder), I've never been able to check.

Atris seems to be the exception with me too. She doesn't display any stand-out "features" (since she's always wearing the full robe) but the fanart front-on portrait leaves an impression...

The Mandalorian Wars - the right decision?
dufflover replied to Hive's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
This is sorta off topic - I got confused when I first got these questions from Atris. I'm an LS player so I was leaning towards the obeying the council options, yet they were lower down in the choices (and *usually* the lower you go the less LS it is) and also I suspected that the 'morale' of the game was to accept that your choices make you the person that you are in the game. In the end I picked defending the innocents cos I went with my latter thought. -
Music is degraded to *MONO* 10kHz @ 48 kbit/s?!
dufflover replied to markussun's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Man what a long read - I quit halfway! I agree that not having music at 128k (or at least 96k) 44Khz Stereo is not good since there isn't an excuse to not do it like that. Here's what I think: Mono - it's *ok* (just) to have mono, since the whole game won't sound mono with all the sounds. 10kHz - this is the biggest problem and it's clearly obvious from the distortions (ie, muffling) during points in the music. 48k - (this is just the calculated size needed from the above factors) -
I don't get what's so good about ugly slutty dressed dancers or headtails....

Well I suppose I won't save up levels for my Exile, but I might save up levels for characters I want to Jedify early (not sure who yet), but in most cases levels for NPC's don't change much cos I most of them are stuck on the ship where I do most of the talking. the end point - I'll play as normal

Bastila is my #1 vote hands down. Atris would be my second - but I agree, only in the fan/concept art. That white angelic look really does her wonders. Heh, kinda like the opposite of Bastila (good ingame, less out of it).

I didn't even know (when I started) that characters could even be "Jedi-fied". So yes, good to save levels up for them so they can build up to a half-decent Jedi in one hit. I'm a Stun-then-kill type player, so I suppose I could save up levels so when I go prestige, I can get a lot of the sneak-attacks (Jedi Watchman?).

In KotOR 1, I learnt about the saving levels after a particular point (so you've sorta pre-planned in a way). For those who haven't played K1 or don't know about this tactic, it was to maximise your Jedi Levels (for more powers and Force points) while making sure you got some useful skills/feats from the starting base class. Again, you would've looked at the tables in the K1 manual to plan when to stop. Is there a point to holding levels in KotOR 2? The main class change in the game is when you pick the Prestige class, but considering how I only made it to around level 23 or so (and apparently the cap is 50), is there a point to saving Level Ups? Any reasons at all - feats, quests, powers, characters? I've only played one game of K2 and in that I didn't withhold.

how do i beat the hand maidens?
dufflover replied to Revan_2005's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Just remember that the unlimited Hssiss thing is a bug, so the intention was that this was a good optional fight to get some XP. As it is though, Hssiss is probably a more 'efficient' (time/reward) way to get XP, although I don't see why you wouldn't do the Handmaiden fights for fun . I found thet final gang-up hard so I had to use the Force Whirlwind off-the-mat tactic, and reinforced myself with a Melee shield (along with Valor and Speed). I suppose I was kinda disappointed when I didn't get anything like a Unarmed-type item of special skill like you "learn" Echani Strike. -
She's got the whole angelic LS look, her face is plastered all over the promo's and well, seems they had a big change in plans. "You're cut!" - Homer Simpson as Peewee Football Coach I think Atris and Nihilus were going to be the big baddies as indicated by all the art stuff, but one possible reason for cutting (or redesigned very early in development as it seems) the Atris related bits were because it would've seemed too KotOR 1 - a Jedi who has feelings for you turns into a Baddie. (Bastila) Don't get me wrong, I would've liked her to admitting she liked you even if it was repetitive.

New sketches! Unbelievable! (04/10/2005)
dufflover replied to a topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Love the Visas bare shoulder one - as said, definitely brings back those lotion/body cream looks. -
I will always exhaust a game for it's worth, and considering that one of KotOR's strengths is replayability (and different outcomes, big and small), I would think everyone tried all the different combos (unless they thought the game sucked) My order for both games has been (will for K2), Male/LS, Male/DS, Female/LS, Female/DS. Then Male/LS again as a "character experiment" style game.

Looks like I'll have to change what happens in my program as well. In that, if you fill up your slots you automatically stand.

I can't remember fully, but for the Tomb I think I had: Visas: (Leader) for Melee & Force , "we love the leader..." (Simpsons) HK-47: Disrupter rifle damage & high attacks. As a bonus, he's a droid. Mira (non-Jedi): Kinda like a Human HK with super-Mandalorian-pistols. High damage/attacks cos of all those feats, and also a good Skills person. Dxun difficulty: It was pretty easy but I found Enemy Grenades gave me the most trouble. For Onderon: Me: duh Kreia: compulsory, but she was mainly Force support I can't remember the last one but I think it was Handmaiden (Jedi) It didn't really matter for Onderon cos I decided to try and do the whole thing in Solo mode. I "died" twice I think but the point is that the party wasn't involved in much fighting.

Unless you put good crystals in the saber she'll use, lightsabers would be better (I still go by the damage numbers though). Problem is that usually all the best crystals are in your saber :D Also, doesn't Melee do physical damage? So my two configs when using her were Blaster Rifle (cos Dueling also helped Melee) and then normal Unarmed Melee. But I also gave her the Force Deflection thing since she wasn't going to use a saber.

How would you deal with the loose ends?
dufflover replied to ShadowPaladin V1.0's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Probably not my preferred ending but still very good and probably better then what LucasArts is brainstorming now... Hmm, my only problem with it is that I'm a sucker for Revan/Bastila so having Revan/Exile would seem to ignore all that. but hey, the whole child idea is fine -
KotOR does sorta follow the story pattern in the movies: K1: has a Jedi-involved war, like Episode 2 K1 to K2 transition: like Episode 3, how all the Jedi are taken out K2: Empire Strike Back - story expanded and things were learnt but no real final outcomes K3 (?): Hopefully a Return of the Jedi thing with Revan (cos since all the Jedi are basically gone, it would be Return of the Jedi). As a side note with the games, I also think that K2 has the length and depth of a full game, but at the same time, it's like an expansion to K1 like Jedi Academy of Half-Life: Opposing Force & Half-Life Blue-Shift. Why? Well in all these games you refer a lot to the original character (Kyle and Gordon) but play someone different, and everything you do is from a consequence from the original character.
-
The character itself was good but it was kinda annoying not being able to act on the obvious (that she was evil, or at least not Jedi-like). I suppose having those cutscenes of her scheming may not have been the best idea. btw, aren't your poll options overlap a bit - I wanted to vote a good character and Visas' ....

How do i get the mines movie? (spoilers)
dufflover replied to mrdefender's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I haven't tried this yet, but maybe it will work when you place 4 mines in that channel gap between the existing mines on each side (so 8 or 10 mines total?). Or maybe extra mines on the bridge only. -
Revan's fate in KotOR 3 (or later)
dufflover replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
One ending I hope they DON'T do is some Matrix thing where it's the "nature" of the galaxy for a Jedi to regulary go off to this mysterious place and never return. -
Revan's fate in KotOR 3 (or later)
dufflover replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You can resolve Revan's (or the Exile's) fate without ever seeing them, and that would deal with the problem of seeing his/her appearance in the game as well.
