  1. Is there going to be a Pillars of Eternity Guidebook Volume Two? I mean a hardcover dead tree version? That was great to have for the first game. I don't see it on Amazon yet.
  2. Wow that is sad to hear. Those were very good expansions and well worth the money.
  3. Are horses and horseback combat in this game? I am not saying my purchase depends on it but any medieval-type RPG claiming to be 'realistic' better have it. Edit: Ok they clearly have horses. So that's good.
  4. I think it kind of reflects the maturity of this series now after all these years. We have a game we are all very familiar with now. That is why there were fewer supporters for the second kickstarter. People now know exactly what they are donating towards rather than whatever dream game they want Obsidian to make and make a more informed decision.
  5. I like the pre-emptive rage and threats and accusations at the thing that didn't happen. Anyway fair enough dude. We all have our standards. I wish you good luck with any future company you support. Oh for...how many pre-emptive accusations are you going to make in this thread? Anyway some sorts of bugs bother people and others don't. The bugs you listed I barely noticed but other games they would make me unlikely to play further. Just how it goes.
  6. I know. And it just will not die. Because some people are participating in some political conflict and they want to draw us all in, even if they have to make stuff up and lie to do so.
  7. Well feel free to take a strong political stance then. I don't see any evidence that any actual content of the game was changed nor that that vision for any of the characters or setting. If it were then I might be concerned. Actually even then I might not be all that worried. As I said people tend to be zoning out these nutter mobs these days.
  8. They did not remove any content. My God how long is this stupid lie going to continue? It was some obscure backer thing. Also people tend to be better at ignoring the internet lynch mobs these days than they did back in 2015.
  9. That was not what he was saying. He was talking about exploring the different aspects of organized religion, rather than just blandly deconstruct it. It is the blandly deconstructing things he is saying is the trend, not dismissing religion.
  10. I just want to second this. I have loved everything you guys have done and am really excited for what happens next year!
  11. I have no interest in a game making all the sacrifices necessary to be fully voice acted. Nor am I particularly interested in having no Voice Acting at all. So I guess I strongly disagree with you on this point.
  12. Eh he was there for a very long time. After a long enough time every company is going to have conflicts.
  13. His hints and accusations without anything of substance do him no credit, but ultimately since nobody will say anything of substance about whatever went down it is not really worth talking about. I do love Chris' work and the whole thing is sad.
  14. There have been a handfull of games that accomplish both freedom and deep story with big affectual choices. My biggest gripe with Tyranny was that it was too linear and too short. I like having lots of other content to enjoy especially if I like the game. I dont like feeling like I am on rails when playing a game and even tyranny with it choices was essentially just a "choose your rail" experience. There wasnt the excitement that comes with exploring and stumbling across ruins that turns into a full blown quest to hunt and slay a wraith thats been plauging the nearby village.. I mean thats what makes rpg worlds feel real, to me anyway. See I don't mind that. Great games can be both on rails or not on rails. If I am going to be on rails just provide me a compelling reason to go down those rails and I am alright. Being on rails enables you to make more meaningful choices IMO. With more freedom and open games there are too many variables. They are just different methods of story telling. I don't think one is inherently better than the other.
  15. I am not a huge fan of open worlds. I mean yes they were cool in the Ultima Series back in the day and the Elder Scrolls but that is only one style of game. It shouldn't be every game. For Obsidian I want a linear story heavy game and if there are choices I want them to be big choices that dramatically impact the game. I loved how in Tyranny there were four different paths that had pretty significant differences in how one approached each section of the game. The enemies might be different. The NPCs might be different. Your goal in the scenario might be different. That was great and I hope to see more of that. Only more so. I want it even MORE different. Though I know developers are not big fans of that kind of thing. As for fluff and background color I am cool with that, usually games make it pretty clear what pieces of information are part of the story and which ones are fluff.
  16. Eh not close enough to where I would have thought about it without you putting them side by side. So not a big deal.
  17. I like it. One should enjoy your work of ripping the souls out of kith.
  18. Meh I want no cap at all. Every joinable PC should be able to be in my group at the same time if I want. Why do we still have to tolerate this artificial and arbitrary cap nonsense when technology makes it obsolete? But what can you do?
  19. Yeah those kinds of expansions are really what I want. DLC seemed like a good idea at the time but it pretty much sucks now. Now if you want to go buy an old game from seven or eight years ago instead of getting it all for cheap you often find yourself having to buy the DLC at full price to get the complete game. F that.
  20. I suspect that if you have have the expansion they will become a full blown companion in the main game as well. Right?
