I have always gotten a kick out of how castles and fortresses in RPGs never actually function like fortresses. In Dragon Age it was almost a running joke about how the doors to castles were never closed when they were attacked, the bad guys just ran in the door and you fought them in the courtyard. This happened with the stronghold in PoE of course with you having these big walls and gates you spent money on yet all the battles were either fought inside the walls or even inside the keep. In the ship-to-ship combat in the ship video we have two ships locked together with some kind of wooden bridge device. Now if our ship was some kind of medieval or Roman Empire type ship that would make some sense, but surely in an era where both ships have guns pointing out of their hulls this makes no sense. I guess RPGs just don't work with anything but squad-on-squad infantry combat on a flat field.

It makes no sense for somebody who has not trained for years under a master to be able to craft weapons. But I guess we shouldn't use realism arguments. But please not this. If you can make your own daggers with your own special powers then I will have to make my own daggers unless I want to have inferior daggers. And I REALLY do not want to make my own daggers.

I am fine with crafting so long as it is not important. God I hate when the best stuff is all crafted. I never hated a system quite like Dragon Age: Inquisition. The crafted stuff was all better than the dropped stuff and it could not have been more tedious. PoE's crafting was fine. Let's keep drops where you get your gear.

Sad that a majority are such psychos as to hate game developers. Though I very much doubt anywhere close to a majority hate Bethesda. You might wish they did. We got New Vegas out of FO3 maybe something great comes out of this as well. We shall see.

The silent majority is often overlooked. I think it is the silence.

Damn. Tough break Obsidian after a really good job on Stick of Truth.

Well I was there. There was indeed butthurt over Fallout 2 at the time. To the point I even delayed buying it even though I loved the first one. There was a time I took the RPG purity brigades seriously and respected their opinions. But once you get burned over and over again by their misrepresentations and hyperbole you just start to tune them out. I mean if you don't like Bethesda and did not like Fallout 3 then how is your opinion valuable at all to somebody who does and did? Then it starts to become haranguing for partisan purposes rather than honest evaluations. I mean that dude even admitted he was out to reduce the number of sales...no agenda here. A true honest broker.

I did like the homeopathy reference though. A little poetic metaphor never hurt anybody.

Glad to see that. I was worried what might happen to the original project if the supplemental kickstarter failed. Pity there is really no way it reaches 200K since this game really needs voice acting. But oh well.

Yeah they will make it easily.

I am not sure how to feel about this. Need more information. Seems bad though.

I am almost 40 so 2002 feels almost contemporary. Nostalgia seems weird for something so recent. I thought I backed PoE because I liked that sort of game. To say otherwise seems to suggest I play RPGs out of nostalgia for the first time I played any RPG of any sort ever. I mean sure they said it would be a game in the genre of the IE games. Well so what? Are EA's FIFA games based on nostalgia for football? Am I wrong about this? I just seems a very strange use of nostalgia. I am not playing this game to reminisce about 2002 no more than I eat pizza to remember a pizza I ate back in 1991.

Huh. How did they know he was straight?
