just a comment on the rpg codex review.
I have heard RPGcodex called many things but never fascist. Do they demand society be controlled by a supreme leader and embrace corporatism? Anyway I knew you were an anarchist revolutionary.

Suggestion: voices for all dialogs
Voicing the main character is an extremely difficult proposition. Not only does this character have the most lines but you need at a minimum two voices. Probably you would need a couple more to do it right. That is incredibly expensive. They had to limit character creation choices to make this work in Mass Effect and Dragon Age post Origins and that was with far greater resources.

Steam now has Paywall mods
Valve and Bethesda, it's been said. I read on reddit that Valve actually takes 30% - similar to the cut they take for other sales - but there's no way of confirming it. Ah ok that actually makes sense. Though we probably should confirm this before declaring Valve or Bethesda a corrupt overlord or whatever.

Can't get over how good POE is & why Bioware abandoned this style of gameplay.
Yep. They went from being the darlings of us RPG fans to being melodramatic cheese with actiony gameplay. I have come to terms with it and have forgiven them. I had to go through a similar period of grieving and acceptance with Bethesda when Oblivion came out (though for different reasons). It is really up to a few smallish developers now.

Well it depends on how sacred you hold your entertainment. When I was a kid and I had nothing but time to kill I would tolerate any dreck. Well that and I had no money so I kind of had to accept whatever I had. Now that I am coughing up the money and my time is much more limited I get pretty cranky when something fails to meet expectations.

Let me know if you need any sort of protection Sensuki. Us Texans are heavily armed.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
I'm still willing to give it a shot, it deserves that much. Eh did you play Baldur's Gate (1 not 2)? It is that kind of tedious combat. At least people auto-attack.

ok how do I do endless paths after finishing story?
Maybe. But post finish play is kind of rare isn't it? I mean outside of the Elder Scrolls series.

Obsidian has done this a few times haven't they? At least it was short.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
Is that true? Huh. I only played from 2005-2007 and it sure seemed like they had quest helpers. But that was a long time ago. Maybe for those days it seemed carebear but today it would seem hard core.

I am so glad the defenders of traditional RPGs vigorously go after the few devs we have on a personal level. That is sure to get more of these made.

Wait what? There was only a small group posting here during production of the game and we were hardly a furious mob (and even if we were there were too few of us to intimidate you into stopping...whatever it was you think was stopped). Most of us were cautiously optimistic and lots of us were cheering on Sensuki and the betas. You are talking about a group of people that never existed except in your imagination. I am sorry those imaginary people ruined your game and i am glad these fantasy people are getting their comeuppance.

How do you rate PoE
Good game. Far from perfect but I enjoyed it. Franchise has potential but a lot of work still to go. Itemization and encounters were below what I was hoping for but those can easily be improved upon in the future. 4/5

Dragon Age: Inquisition
I am completely with you here. You can rage on for only so long before you have to move on and accept the new reality. Bethesda and Bioware have taken RPGs mainstream which has its good points and bad points. Might as well make the most of it, there is still fun to be had.

So it is WoW that ruined RPGs. Mystery solved. Ah MMORPGs you seemed like such a good idea at the time.
- So is this game actually good?

Too Easy?
This game is really hard for most normal people. So somebody figured out a way to cheese through a fight. Meh so what. And coming up with mechanics that somebody, someplace, in the world cannot find an exploit on requires years of work exposing your system to millions of people. Hardly easy.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
I want combat to be fun and challenging. So I do want a hard mode that is actually hard and forces me to use those potions and gear I crafted, those abilities I learned, and those tactics I experimented with in order to win. I am not sure DAI will provide that but, like you, I can still enjoy it even without that if the rest of the stuff is fun. Just if I am going to do combat I want it to be entertaining.

Bethesda is amazing at world building. Or at least building that one world. But they are horrible at writing dialog and having involved plots. I certainly enjoy it in small doses. It leaves me wanting more after awhile though.
