  1. Those do not strike me as things that would make the game unsafe to play.
  2. Man all this just makes me sick. I stopped looking at twitter at all seven months ago because of all this hate full outrage garbage and it saddens me to see it crop up again. And all over some obscure backer content 99.999999% of people who play the game will not even see. Not even really part of the game content. I wish I could say I am surprised.
  3. Wait I thought the bugs were all fixed in the patch? What is left? Also I was under the impression the bugs were mostly retro-fixed. Is that not true?
  4. PoE isn't that much of a problem, just part of the bigger picture . IF the patch fixes (hopefully) the major bugs then Obsidian did decent work. The real problem is, that there is no game release anymore, which has no BUGs. And it seams to get worse every year with more and more game-breaker BUGs . And this BAD status has reached the "standart". And that there are still people, who praise/defend this BAD status-quo . Sometimes with stupid try-hard arguments like "just a game" or "it's still new" (35+ YEARS is not "new"!!!! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MUD)). We, the custumer, should NOT and NEVER accept this behavior! Eh it is not that big of a problem. The reason games are released with bugs is that it is really really hard to make software this complicated bugfree. That is reality, and I am not in the business of screaming outrage at reality. Game makers already work absurdly long hours. I am not a sadist. Heck I am impressed and grateful anybody works in that crazy industry. So long as it is good enough and gets patched in a reasonably decent time frame I am satisfied. The far more important issue is what it looks like after all the patches are done, was it a good and creative and fun product? So what during the first few days/weeks/months after release it had issues.
  5. Much better solution would be to not be that short minded and set higher standarts. A Computer Game is a product like every other product. If released with to many BUGs => 14 days to fix them, then money back. Hell, you US guys sue everyone for everything. Even if someone is so STUPID (normal human brain above the IQ of a sandwich tells you: DO NOT DO IT) to put his dog in a microwave he sue the producer of the microwave and get's millions of $. Can't belive you are so damn forgiving when it comes to software ..... I love people who don't know crap lecturing me about my country. Yes there are attorney's who make their bread doing petty lawsuits and yes they are a problem and yes there are horror stories. But this is hardly some cultural value we all participate in, this is a minority of jerks. And the reason game software is not like every other product is because: first it is just a game, my life and my business are not at stake here. secondly they can easily get fixed later and thanks to auto-patching I often do not ever know there even was a bug. thirdly as consumers in this industry we know what can reasonably be expected and generally if you get a game at release there will be bugs. Software is hard. Sucks there were bugs. I would have preferred there were not. Glad they seem to have gotten them fixed so quickly.
  6. Seems like all the major bugs all got squashed in a week to me so not too bad, and it seems they correct the problems retroactively so people will not have to restart. I have to say I never thought my weird psychological dislike of double-cliking would ever be a bonus.
  7. That is the other thing. It took me awhile to realize they had nothing to do with anything. I was like 'wait do I need to know all this'? But eventually I just decided it was a feature to better get you to understand the impact of your predicament....and now I know it was a backer perk. Probably both.
  8. I thought they were cool, and that was before I knew they were backers. I was a little confused by finding 'Strom Brightblade' in a game with ethnic sounding names. But yeah I like the creativity that went into the soul memories. The people who don't hate them are not posting on the board.
  9. Heck they already have 16th century technology in PoE, it wouldn't be a huge stretch to make it steampunky.
  10. It is always the risk you take when you buy a game on release. There will be bugs, usually lots of them. Eventually they usually get fixed (even if it is a fan fix). This game does not have a load of bugs but the ones it does have are significant. I hope that means it will not take them long to fix the problems.
  11. Well it would be very weird if it didn't.
  12. The normality of normal difficulty is just proof Obsidian was lazy and rushed this game out. Wait for a few patches.
  13. I know it took them 1 whole minute to slaughter your party? Might as well solo it and go afk for every battle.
  14. My favorite part of Skyrim was when a bloody Civil War was resolved by the generals fighting each other to the death for no apparent reason. Now see that is how Cromwell should have beheaded King Charles.
  15. I have lots of saves. I am confident I can avoid these bugs or at least avoid them ruining my game. Sorry to hear it did not come out as bug free as we all hoped. They do seem like relatively easy ones to fix and avoid once you know about them though. I hope there are not any more.
  16. Well nobody is expecting royalties but it does no harm to make sure people know who the artist is. Maybe that might eventually get commissions headed that artist's way. Deleting ones that fail to do so seems a bit extreme though.
  17. I lost my hook after using it, but I did get another a short time later.
  18. Would not work without rewriting the whole quest. And it's not the only one. I am pretty sure he was making a joke.
  19. My kid wanted to play so I let him, under my supervision, but made sure he found the game as boring as possible so he would go back to wanting us to play train sims (mission accomplished!). This is not 'baby's first RPG'
  20. I don't know. For some reason I like playing female PCs in single player games and male ones in multiplayer. But I made two characters for this game, so I am playing both at the same time. Here is my priest of Eothas: Source: http://eventrue.deviantart.com/art/Ayren-169533263 The eyes read your soul and demand you seek redemption!
  21. I was trying to reach Gilded Vale, why would I go into a cave? That is not on the way to Gilded Vale.
  22. Boy you are not kidding. My avatar leads the party in knock downs. At least he keeps Aloth standing up.
  23. Huh. Not sure what game you are playing but PoE is very detailed and colorful and beautiful. I guess all these things are subjective. But really? I mean the place is full of giant purple glowing stones? How can you say it is all grey?
  24. Ditto. And yeah I was worried about letting top donors design game content. I mean how could they do it justice without designer level knowledge of the world and such? But it is hardly that big of a deal. My kids/wife come in to talk to me every 10 minutes or so and I manage to tolerate that without my immersion being broken.
