  1. Well, in my 1st playthrough (1.02) Itumaak did surprisingly well (got knocked out twice and did decent damage) so I decided to give the ranger a chance in my 2nd (1.03). The wolf constantly died like a fly (with almost all animal companion abilities taken). Huge disappointment. That's pretty much all I can add.
  2. If it comes to dealing with nobles then gaining their favor will increase your reputation with DB. Crossing them might earn you reputation with other regions, like Guilded Vale if you take Raedric for example. The amulet... well, unfortunately there is only one living being able to tell others about your "good" deed. The girl imprisoned in the amulet can't spread the word.
  3. There is no survival of the fittest. That's the point. The bear is better out in the open and the lioness is better in her own territory and neither wants to go to the other because that'd be a disadvantage. Motivation.... what's the motivation for anything in this game? I chose the lioness because I favor cunning over strength, and in the long run the cubs will be mightier than the bear anyways.
  4. Sorry for the bad quality, I have no patience to spend half a day uploading a video. Here's my response. Fighter vs Sky Dragon on PotD. Solo, no summoned crap, no traps, no potions, no scrolls, not even pausing and on top of that terrible rolls, i.e. worst case scenario. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1dC3Linvno Edit: it's still processing, if you want higher resolution, you gotta wait.
  5. Yes, I noticed it today when I was going through all the posts again. No point in editing it out, even if I could. Sorry for the confusion.
  6. Sorry, can't help you with that. Hiravias is pretty much 0 x Edér because I don't use him. Did his quest, which was 1 encounter. Other than that he was escorting or going on adventures.
  7. Why are you trying to enchant the Cloudpiercer? It's a reward from Wenan for bringing him the stuff from Lle a Rhemen. You are done! If you are referring to my statement where I said "craft", that's a leftover from rephrasing and it's supposed to be "get". You don't actually craft/enchant the bow like the spear.
  8. Damage multipliers are additive, otherwise I'd be hitting for hundreds with all the multipliers my PC has. 1+0.12+0.15=1.27.
  9. The storm goes where the druid does, you can figure out why clustering is an epic failure yourself. I have no patience for a wall of text.
  10. This is on my 1st PotD, near the end. A few minor quests here and there + jumping down the rabbit hole is all that's left. The others are also early to get companions meaning I have no OP cipher to deal most of the damage. I won't fire up the game just to check the others, but I know my lowest damage dealer is Durance with 16k something and my highest is either Aloth or my PC.
  11. It's not failsafe but 99%, lol. It's not anywhere near anywhere near anywhere near anywhere near being that problematic. Am I clear enough? I send my tank in alone while I buff up, cast Returning Storm, etc. I also summon stuff - summons alone do enough of a job with the offtanking. Any monster who decides to run past my tank to my backline will be happy to stop if engaged by a summon. Too, I use my cipher to paralyze these brave souls. Then my druid and wizard just unload on the crowd swinging futilely at my tank. Sometimes even hitting him if need be. As for teleporting shades. You can outrange it. Lategame shades obviously aren't a problem but early on I just back the cannons off when I see the purple icon over the shades. Hell, they can even get bored of chasing. These are the damage stats of a PotD party that just reached level 12. Fighter, dedicated tank hatchet4lyfe: 6k Rogue: 40k Priest, mostly buffing: 3k Cipher, CC/utility in hard fights, Mind Blades in easy ones: 30k Druid: 70k Wizard: 34k Like those 6k would become something meaningful on a tincan using sword and board and not sporting any damaging abilities. What's more, like they would be worth the tradeoff when his job is to just soak hits while the cannons unload. Just checked my party record. Edér did 37372.6 damage. You are obviously doing something wrong.
  12. No real cheese.... solo..... are you kidding me? Food, potions, beetles. I managed to solo it with a fighter without using anything but the fighter and its abilities, also no pausing. If the video was meant as a demonstration of how much garbage you have to use to be on par with other classes then you have succeeded.
  13. Yeah, druid spell for sure, either level 1 or 3, but I'm guessing Returning Storm since Dancing Bolts shouldn't be much of an issue. Spread out and nuke the druid!
  14. I disagree with all my heart. One of those in front and five glass cannons in the back. I "sacrifice" even more on my fighters. You better listen to Akimbo because he speaks truth. Seems to me that Akimbo isn't playing on PotD, where the damage your fighter tank puts out is completely negligible. On everything up to hard, yeah.. no need to minmax. No need to even create your own fighter because Eder can tank just fine. No idea if Akimbo is playing on PotD or not, but I can speak out of experience. Fighters are reliable damage dealers. Edér has a sabre and a small shield with all related talents. His tanking capabilities are sufficient, his damage is quite alright. If you are so concerned about PotD then why didn't reply to the idea of 1 tank and 5 glass cannons instead. 1 tank can't keep them save 99% of the time. That 1% being some kind of bottleneck with no teleporting shades or confusion spamming casters around.
  15. It's that vithrack in Od Nua. Honestly I never fought him. I always took Tcharek's quest, talked my way through Kestorik, grabbed the tools and when I got back and Kestorik wanted to take the quest items from me I was like... "Whoooops... I almost dropped it (DEX check)" and he was like... "Fine... go ahead, you can bring the tools to Tcharek yourself". Edit: I just recalled actually fighting them all after doing the quest just to see what items they drop (and reloading afterwards) and can't recall having any issues.

  17. You get the access to Lle a Rhemen anyway. If you don't stick with the Dozens, you stumble upon opened Lle a Rhemen, with dead adventurer corpses inside. No quest, no cloudpiercer
  18. Yes, but you can only get it with the bronze beneath the lake quest, which requires you to side with the dozens.
  19. Getting Osric's armor will unlock the faction merchant and in no way lock you out. Taking any quest from the guy at the big table will!
  20. That's not cheesing, that's exploiting. Cheesing is using some 3rd party stuff that is limited (other means of paralyzing/petrifying may or may not be considered such since they come at a high cost like wasting a 6th level spell which may be needed for something else). You hoard all your traps, potions and scrolls for a difficult encounter. There is nothing wrong with that except that it totally obliterates the challenge. This is why it's cheesing.
  21. Did you try to talk to him normally? He may not understand AA speach additem estoc_endless_paths 1
