  1. Pale Elves—Glamfellen (GLAHM-fel-len, “twilight dwellers,” Glamfellen) It is unclear exactly how long ago the Glamfellen came to the southern polar regions of the world, but they have lived there for at least 12,000 years, based on their continuous contact with aumaua traders. They appear to be among the most stationary ethnic groups in the known world, migrating within the polar region but seldom venturing far north. They are rare in all northern lands, and most people consider them exotic (if they have seen one at all). Some linguistic similarities between the Glamfellen, Aedyran, and Hylspeak languages suggest that the Glamfellen elves lived in the Northern Hemisphere once long ago and probably broke off from the Sceltrfolc tribes. • Features: Mid-width to narrow noses, heart-shaped or round faces. Almond, thin, hooded eyes with epicanthic folds and large irises. Mid-set eyes, wider spacing, weaker brows. Pointed ears, arched eyebrows. • Skin: Extremely pale and translucent, ranging from snow white to fair. Their skin often lacks any warmth other than their faintly visible circulatory system. • Hair: White, blond, strawberry blond. Straight, thin. Males can have facial hair. • Eyes: Green, blue, gray, gold, red, violet, pink. The White That Wends This infertile expanse of cracked and shifting ice is home to the largest known settlement of pale elves in the world. Outcasts, adventurers, and explorers from other parts combine their resources to survive—or raid smaller settlements as needed. Survival across the Wend is dependent upon harnessing nontraditional hunting methods better suited to open plains and using a lack of visibility to one’s advantage. Sailing expeditions once hugged the Wend’s northern coast with hopes of charting a passage east. Too many ships spent seasons moored inland, only to be torn apart by unpredictable ice floes. Most explorers grudgingly decided that braving the Wend was no safer than braving the pirates and sea monsters of Deadfire. At least one group of Aedyrans never returned after their vessel froze in a developing ice field miles from shore. Whether they made peaceful contact with the Glamfellen, or succumbed to hazards of the environment, is unknown. That's all I could gather. As someone already pointed this out... you can imagine their lifestyle similar to that of Sagani's tribe.
  2. You are totally right about that, but you clearly didn't read through the posts. We all know the paladin is a jack-of-all-trades and shouldn't be doing more damage than lets say a rogue, tank better than a fighter, or heal better than a priest. To put this into an easy to understand example: 1 fighter + 1 rogue + 1 priest > 3 paladins. I've had fun with 3 wizards, even had a full party of barbarians and they were all OK. Try that with paladins.
  3. You are asking the wrong questions. It all depends on where they live and what they represent. You can't generalize them like that.
  4. Fampyr is actually half kith, half vampire by definition. Not sure if this is the case in PoE
  5. Yes, it is possible, but choose wisely, there are only 2 ingredients to make something superb.
  6. "until dead" is even shorter than 15 seconds almost always. My dual sabre fighter attacks every second. I don't bring a paladin to boss fights at all because practically every other class brings a lot more food to the table.
  7. +5 higher base and +10 with disciplined barrage pretty much makes accuracy equal. As for damage, fighters can get +25% damage passively, also x1.2 min. damage against everything without having to activate anything.
  8. Yeah, you can change them back and forth until you descend into the pit. All you have to do is pray (and do their quest if you haven't already)
  9. The issue is d100. My ranger has 111 unbuffed accuracy hitting the same target as the pet still manages to miss from time to time. This works the other way around as well. 100 whatever defense counts as high, yet a roll of 100 will still hit even if the attacker has just 16 accuracy, and they usually have at least 50.
  10. I was once knocked down for about 20 seconds on a fighter I was testing with (normally) high def, ref, and fort (all 90-100), but my fighter was so terribly debuffed that it didn't matter. All in all my deflection was like 0 and naturally I ate all the crits while helplessly watching. Dying slowly or instantly doesn't matter if you are soloing. Look at the guy whose rogue died from a few Xaurips. He just arrived on a map and those Xaurips were right there and stun locked him. The End! Would it matter if the damage multiplier would be reduced to x2? No, you'd still die even with no damage multiplier (aka Paralyzed) due to the debuffs, not being able to move and everyone targeting you, because there is no one else.
  11. You can use your rep with the Fangs. Something like... "after all I've done for you?". Resolving the bear/lion fight and rescuing the girl from Noonfrost should give you enough rep for this option to be available.
  12. I did everything. On my 1st playthrough I was at level 12 (I believe) in Od Nua, did everything that could be done in Act 2, bounties... did them all until the one in Northwaeld because I couldn't get there and still wasn't level 12. 2nd playthrough almost the same except I didn't touch Od Nua until I was pretty much done with everything else. I also clearly remember that I skipped the Skaenian cultists (until level 11) because Aloth didn't have high enough mechanics yet and every single point went into mechanics.
  13. The point of solo play PoTD is that it is a challenge, not that it is impossible. Its teh way I like to play and the problem wth petrify is that it is not just instant death but its the kind of instant death you can do exactly NOTHING to counter You can't do anything about being stun locked, being 1 hit by some spell you are weak against (some corrode and fire spells can kill even a tank on PotD), being debuffed to the point of uselessness where you have such horrible stats that you constantly get crits (that might be grazes without debuffs) and you miss or graze. Should I go on? I don't think so. So I ask you again... why do you single out Petrify? You can't do anything about all the others either if you solo. The only way to counter each and every one of them is to summon some crap, let it take the burst, and/or divide and conquer.
  14. 4-4-4-3 bounties IIRC That's one way of saying the best RPGs ever made are ****. I hit level cap in Act II in my first play through which was before I cleared final levels of Od Nua and all the quest and task that you can do in Act I and II. Then you had a party of <6. More XP (because you simply get more) and less sharing.
  15. I estimate something like level 13.5, 14 tops if there was no level cap. 16/17 is absurd. You aren't getting that much XP. I hit level 12 in Twin Elms on both playthroughs. Od Nua pretty much just gives you bestiary and lock/trap disarm XP which is not much.
  16. After reading through some arguments I stand by my statement. There is no point in reaching level 12 if you can't enjoy it at least a bit. You choose a talent that you won't use ever, because THE END! You might as well do all your ego feeding solo adra dragon/Thaos videos with a level 11 char. Bounty XP: no idea what you are smoking. I never gained "several levels" even when I turned in all 4 at once. The best I got was 1 level, because I was close to leveling up anyways.
  17. It shouldn't be deleted. For stuff like this there is a note like "earlier in development blablabla". For instance there are Cadegund and Forton who aren't even in the game.
  18. Hint: you are near the end. There aren't many quests in Twin Elms, a few of them are done in a matter of seconds. The amount of XP you get is just right imo. You can do the last ~15% of the game at max level.
  19. I don't know what you guys have against petrify. I find it rather lackluster. Not because it's not effective, but because there are so many better alternatives. For 6th level wizard spells I almost always use Minoletta's Precisely Piercing Burst, sometimes Chain Lightning. As for mobs using it... I prefer that over Confusion or Domination. For soloing... well, if you want to be a masochist, then by all means be one and don't chicken out because herp derp petrify. There are priest spells that can 1 hit non-tank specs, you can also be stun locked until you die. This is all part of the game and I only see this as a pointless QQ thread unless we are talking about overall balance (which is clearly not the case).
