Hello Jade, and welcome to the forums. Relax, and make yourself at home. I can't hear anything.

KOTOR 2 cutscene question (spoiler)
SteveThaiBinh replied to okgo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Hullo, and welcome to the forums. This isn't a game where you can expect to skip dialogue and still understand what's going on, I'm afraid. You need to play through again, read the dialogue and take time to win influence with key companions before you can follow a lot of what happens. You also have to bear in mind that some of your key sources of information may be either misinformed themselves or simply lying to manipulate you. -
It's probably just glitches, and shouldn't have much effect on gameplay. I'm not entirely sure, but I think Visas is pretty malleable in terms of her alignment, and if you're strongly light or dark, she'll echo you pretty quickly if you gain influence with her. Yes, this game is buggier than KotOR - Obsidian had to develop it much faster and didn't have all the time for testing and QA that they would have liked.

I'm Garnet. And again, as in the Naruto thread, I have no idea what this means beyond the short description that came up. Strong-willed and naive? I'm sure some people think so.

There's hardly a need, when any standard reference work on the game will do as much. A Tchaikovsky variation will leave Covent Garden a free move if approached from the diagonal, which would suit my style of play, I must admit. I'll leave it up to you.

No-one's terribly happy at the thought of releasing incomplete games with massive patches, but better that than leave the game unfinished. Some people have obviously played the game as it is and enjoyed it - how problematic is it? I never really paid much attention to the detail of the problems people were having because I knew (I thought) there was this massive patch coming up.
-
 Am I supposed to play the game in its current state, then? I've heard it's... not very good.

So am I. I've never watched the show, but hopefully he's the comic relief or something.

I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue is a British broadcasting institution - it's been going for over thirty years. Of the recent guest panellists, I think Sandi Toksvig and Jeremy Hardy tie for first place, but everyone has their favourite. Of course, it also gave us the greatest game ever created - Mornington Crescent. Anyone fancy a game?

I love the part where Atton accuses T3 of stealing the Ebon Hawk, and says he's probably "joyriding through the system, laughing at us, laughing at me". Poor Atton, so very insecure.

I think you can link directly to Radio Player: try this. A very good episode indeed, and Jeremy Hardy's singing is definitely improving. My favourite remains Linda Smith singing the words of Psycho Killer to the tune of Save Your Love by Renee and Renato.

I read The Black Cauldron and the others in the series, too. I really enjoyed them, and it spurred me on to read the Mabinogion, which is definitely worth anyone's time. I had no idea that Wales had much of a mythology of its own - blame our English-centric education system, I guess. To an American who helped me better understand my own country's culture, many thanks - and rest in peace.

I wonder what kind of story he was looking for in Kotor2? Oh well, it probably doesn't matter since he's not writing the story for Fallout3. Hopefully someone is.

Armed police raid home after mistaking Lara Croft dummy for gunman
SteveThaiBinh replied to Aram's topic in Way Off-Topic
The police can probably claim that breaking into the house and immobilizing the guy was justified, and so too was any damage sustained by Lara during that. What might be harder to defend was their behaviour once they'd realised it was all a mistake and it was just a doll. At any rate, yet another public relations screw-up. -
I think you might change your mind when you become a parent. I might indeed.

George has plans for 2 more live-action SW flicks
SteveThaiBinh replied to DAWUSS's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I wasn't suggesting that anyone actually watch it. I just thought it might keep him busy - idle hands and all that. -
I bought all the bits for my computer from the same shop, Novatech. I sent them a list of what I wanted, and asked their tech guys if they could foresee any problems, and they said no, it was fine. So I went and got it all and put it together and it didn't even start up. Turned out the processor wasn't compatible with the motherboard. So I rang them and they offered to replace the motherboard with one that did work and to build it for me. So I guess it's store-built, but only by accident.

Hullo, freaker, and welcome to the boards. There's certainly no official word on Kotor3, despite lots of rumours at the moment. Speculation and suggestions are very welcome in this thread over on the Star Wars Universe forum - hope to see you there.

TSL Restoration Project: The Phantom Deadline
SteveThaiBinh replied to Aurora's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Slowly getting there... -
Today is a good day. I am now on holiday and do not need to worry about students who complain because they got a B instead of an A or think their speaking skill would improve more quickly if I talked at them non-stop for two hours every day. Instead, my main concern now is whether I play NWN2 as a sorceror or a cleric this time.

Much like with the Virginia Tech shootings, people are sometimes a bit eager to look for someone to blame. I suppose it helps them to deal with stress. I think the parents can be forgiven for their early criticism of the Portuguese police, given the nightmare in which they now find themselves. I live in a secure compound and I suppose if I had kids, I might go over to a neighbour's house for an evening and leave them home by themselves. That's the kind of environment I live in, but then, I'm no expert on security, so is our security real or illusionary? I think that Walsingham's right, that every parent must be free to find a balance between security and other concerns. The law certainly shouldn't interfere.

Can you get Quorn spam yet?

Armed police raid home after mistaking Lara Croft dummy for gunman
SteveThaiBinh replied to Aram's topic in Way Off-Topic
I'd go along with that. As if they haven't just embarrassed themselves enough (they can be forgiven for the first mistake, though), they then proceed to make themselves look complete idiots by blaming someone else for the mistake. -
K1 & K2 Preferred Parties
SteveThaiBinh replied to pantherus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Atton, Kreia, T3 and Bao-Dur, in various combinations. The earlier I meet a character in the game, the more likely I am to want to keep them around until the end.
