  1. Keep him with you on Dantooine. There are I think three opportunities to gain influence with him there.
  2. And it has a psychotic rabbit. What more could you want? For something with a good story, but a bit bleaker and more blade-runneresque, I'd recommend The Moment of Silence. Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened is supposed to be quite good - I haven't played it, but I'm currently playing another one in the same series, Sherlock Holmes: The Silver Earring, and it seems pretty good so far. Dreamfall is fantastic, and although the ending is unsatisfying, we know for sure that there will be a sequel so it's not quite as bad as KotOR2. Despite enjoying Runaway a great deal, I'm also avoiding Runaway 2 for the same reason until part three comes out.
  3. Numbers 2, 4, 5 and 6 just look the same to me. It's probably the silver - it's hard to spot shape or detail on a uniformly silver body.
  4. Just keep the auto-correct off, and it will get better with time. Make sure that a fair proportion of what you write is intended for readers who think 'teh' is a mistake. I have the whole auto-correction and auto-formatting lot turned off all the time, otherwise I'd be scared to touch the tab key.
  5. I just finished Secret Files: Tunguska. Very pretty, with good voice acting, some good puzzles (and some very poor ones), but overall an enjoyable experience.
  6. I'm quite pleased, actually. They could have abandoned the game entirely (plenty of publishers have done as much). I don't know the details of what happened with Piranha Bytes, but it looks like JoWood is making, if not the best of a bad situation, at least a stab in that general direction. *Looks forward to unplayed game on shelf becoming playable*
  7. Do you suppose that if Fallout 3 is a huge success, even if it's Oblivion-with-guns, that will make it easier to get this Wasteland-inspired game made? Clones of big hits are always popular with the money men. What an irony that would be.
  8. I see Gray Matter had been put back to 2008. Never mind. I've just finished Secret Files: Tunguska, really enjoyed it, and am looking forward to the sequel, due out in the first quarter of 2008 they say.
  9. There's sometimes a glitch that prevents the final call to Dantooine from triggering, but most likely you've simply not finished one of the planets. If you have, then .
  10. Science must talk to faith, but for goodness' sake let Krauss do the talking and have Dawkins hand round the biscuits or something. Dawkins isn't always abrasive and rude, but he does seem to manage it with a fair degree of frequency, whether he means it or not. On the whole, few religious leaders or prominent atheists/humanists are particularly good at talking to each other. I've seen panels of religious figures speaking at length of the need to deepen understanding and co-operation between the faiths, and at the same time dismissing atheists and humanists as having anything worthwhile to say at all, and vice-versa. I suppose both groups thought the other would, in time, wither and die. This appears unlikely in the near future, so better for everyone to get their acts together and start building bridges.
  11. It was absolutely the right thing to do to honour Salman Rushdie, and I don't see any reason to withhold a knighthood just because it might upset some others. He either deserves it, or he doesn't. That's not to say I'm exactly thrilled every time Britain manages to upset the Muslim world (or a vocal section of it).
  12. Very strange. I think this is the key point for me: I'm not opposed in principle to using public funds to help this guy overcome his addiction (though I might be opposed on grounds of prioritising use of finite resources, given the apparent lack of support for this decision from experts in the field), but state support has to be part of a plan to get him off this music and thus off state benefits.
  13. No party, just the option to hire 'henchmen'.
  14. As for the squirrel, this was just an opening skirmish, to test our reactions.
  15. It's not so much that quote, as the other quote that gets me. You know the one I mean. Don't make me say it. I concede that G0-T0 is more universally hated than Disciple.
  16. Sounds ... appealing? Well I like it, but I know a lot of people filter out the minerals. Our mains water comes from under a rather chalky hill, you see.
  17. Poor Disciple. Nobody loves him.
  18. Hallo, and welcome to the forums. If Bao-Dur and Kreia won't follow you and you can't talk to them, it does sound as though you might have a corrupted game. The first thing to try would be to go back to a saved game before it started happening and see if you can avoid the error, or at least pinpoint the moment when it started. If you can fly to Telos without Visa's appearance causing any trouble, can you then fly back from Telos to Dantooine and exit without an error? Doing so would have no impact on the course of the game itself, and might get you round this issue. However, Kotor 2 doesn't tend to like laptops very much. I hope you do find a solution, and if you do, please share it with us.
  19. Hullo, and welcome to the forums. KotOR 2 has never been happy on laptops, as far as I can tell from what people post on these forums. One thing you could try is this at the Widescreen Gamers website. If the screen's the problem, that might fix it or at least you might get some help from people there.
  20. Ooh, old thread. Welcome to the forums, by the way. Is that the competition winner then? I think we had a thread about this a while ago. How are we pronouncing 'Caedus'? Does it rhyme with 'Feed us!' or 'Hide us!'? Is the 'c' pronounced as a k or an s?
  21. Tap water. Chalky.
  22. I'd like to be a Librarian or Sage. Are they classes? I have quite a few Aldenon days as I get older. In reality I think I would be a Giver of fed-ex quests, which if it's not a class, ought to be. I'd always have a million little things that need doing, and sufficient naivety to entrust them to any passing band of heavily-armed strangers.
  23. Playing BG2 again. I can't help myself. It's just so epic (in the best sense).
  24. If you like BG2 for the characters and NPC interaction, it might be worth having another look at BG1 with the Tutu mod and the NPC Project. I really can't stress enough how much this improves the playing experience by adding banters, interjections and romances throughout the game. If you like that kind of thing. Oh, and get Finch the hero/librarian too. For BG2, my understanding is that the BG2 Fixpack version 3 replaces any previous fixpacks including Baldurdash. Don't install the option about shapeshifters, though, because it causes a killer memory leak in Nalia's castle. For interesting NPC mods, I recommend Kelsey, Keto, Solaufein, Nathaniel, Saerilith and Tsujatha (not all at once, obviously). I'm very tempted to try the Xan BG2 mod, but it's a matter of finding the time. I'm currently playing through with a male PC, with Kelsey romancing and beta-testing Nathaniel TOB. It's great fun.
  25. Hello, and welcome to the forums. The problem you're having doesn't ring any bells, I'm afraid. There are a few things you could try. There may be a problem with that save game, so try loading an earlier game and see if you still have the same problem. There are also a few fixes for Vista mentioned in the FAQ. It will also increase your chances of finding an answer if you post on the LucasArts tech support forum as well (follow the link in the FAQ). I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but someone may come along with an answer later. If you do solve this problem, please come back and let us know how you did it.
