...are an entirely different matter. Those things are heavy, and can do serious damage. The UK can afford to take many sausage-lobbers to court at taxpayers' expense, as our public services are so efficient and well-funded.

How can he resign? Wasn't he in jail already? Or was that a different one. It's so hard to keep them straight.

I'm guessing it's supposed to be 'quite' but it looks more like 'quilt' to me.

Perhaps the original poster could clarify his meaning/intent?

You must all buy 10 copies of the new Kanye West album

I just hope whichever publicity/marketing executive thought of this sadly-obvious piece of hype gets run over by a tram an attack of conscience and donates his fee to UNICEF. -
The moment BAA tried to ban the protests, the issue became freedom of expression and public demonstration, rather than the environment. Happily, the courts made the right decision in banning only the handful of individuals and groups with histories of violence or destruction of property and allowed the main protest to go ahead. Besides, this protest includes Airport Watch, which is an umbrella organisation for such unwashed hippy groups as the Woodland Trust, the National Trust and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.

That makes sense though, doesn't it? Bugs that are easy to replicate are easier to find - it's the ones that depend on a random combination of factors that are hardest to find and fix. No, they've said it's not a countdown to release. However, changes in the numbers (both increases and decreases) are indications of progress being made.

That people will pay to watch any old tosh? You don't really see that many films of the old Greek, Roman and Norse legends, do you? Aside from Clash of the Titans, perhaps. Maybe that will be the next money-grabbing formula once (and this will probably be very soon) the superheroes have had their day.

Pipes aren't stylish. Smoking isn't stylish. Smoking kills. Educate yourself. Also, have you considered the hidden health dangers of pondering?

Gamebanshee is linking to two Microsoft updates that could potentially solve a lot of problems people are having running the KotOR games (and others) with Windows Vista. "Performance and Reliability" update. "Performance and compatibility" update. As this seems to be Microsoft's first attempt to address these issues, I think it merits a thread of its own. Of course, I've added this information to the FAQ as well. Hope this works!

Why is the NWN2 modding scene so.... meh?

Me too. I've found learning scripting to be a real challenge, as some of the commands (functions?) don't always do what they're supposed to and don't always explain why. I spent well over six hours trawling through the Bioware forum trying to get an NPC to sit down properly. In the end, I did manage it - foolishly I'd assumed he would simply sit in the chair, whereas what I actually had to do was turn the chair into a ghost of chair (an illusion, if you will), and get the NPC to squat in the place where the illusion made the chair appear to be. I feel sorry the poor guy - it can't exactly be comfortable like that for hours on end. Still, the sense of satisfaction when I got it to work was immense. Now if I could only persuade him not to swivel his legs through the armrests when the PC talks to him... -
I have at least heard of Sea World, though I can't remember why. Possibly they had a famous whale or were in a movie or something? Google tells me Six Flags is a chain of theme parks, the largest in the world. You learn something new every day. My favourite theme park is, without a doubt, Haus Ten Bosch in Japan. Who would have thought a Dutch-based theme park would be so much fun?

"special weapons observation remote reconnaissance direct action system (SWORDS)" It took a committee of twelve people eight months to think of that, and all the time getting paid a lot more than me.

If homosexuality exists here in Saudi Arabia (which of course it must), it's about as big a taboo as it's possible to be. I've had students who I've wondered if they might be gay, and as far as I'm concerned they're doing the most sensible thing they can in their position: learning English to get out and find a life somewhere they'll be accepted.

I hope this can become a sensible/amusing debate, but please tread carefully and bear in mind the forum guidelines:

Well, you can tell the Democrats are in power again!

Why not limit them to one term, or lengthen the terms? Wouldn't that at least help with that problem? -
I'd never heard of ComicCon until this year, but apparently there's to be a Torchwood panel, which I would have quite liked to go to, but 'tis not to be. Maybe they'll hold it in the Middle East next year?

Wikipedia has a useful section on this debate (which is moving somewhat off the original topic of this thread, I think). If anyone's going to Japan, I recommend the Holocaust museums in both Hiroshima and Nagasaki as well worth a visit. That the dropping of the bombs was the right thing to do seems to be almost received wisdom in the West, but this is certainly not the case in Japan itself. I also agree that we need to tread very carefully in terms of language when discussing these things.
