Character/Location ideas for a story
Obviously I would be from Stalvert, the peaceful island nation. I'm not a great swimmer, but I guess I could learn. Is it easier to be peaceful if you don't have any land borders? British history would seem to suggest otherwise.

As for the movie, I was a teacher in Japan. I've taught scarier. :ninja10:

EXCLUSIVE LOOK ON NEW EQUIPMENT OF OUR WOULD-BE AZN OVERLORDS
Thread pruned, and that really has to be some kind of record.

Door won't open on Goto's yacht
Hello, and welcome to the forums. I've never heard of this precise glitch before, so I can't really help much. If you met all the bounty hunters on the way back from the bridge, then you probably did everything you needed to do on the bridge, but go back and see if there's anything left to do. When you loaded your old save, was it from before you entered Goto's yacht? All I can suggest is trying again with an even older save.

Vista: Service Pack One
Gamespot (if you still have any faith in them) have a look at Vista SP1, measured against old Vista and XP SP2 here. The conclusion is:

China geopolitics
Let the foreign press have unlimited access. If the Tibetans are doing what you say, then give them enough rope to hang themselves (so to speak).

Irn-Bru is the best drink ever! My granny used to give it to me when I was sick. I wish I had some now...

New Fallout 3 screens
Yes, they can. Are you forgetting the reviewers who played Oblivion and then wrote reviews describing Radiant AI as it had been in the hype, not how it was in the actual game?

Vista Land
Talk of killing off XP sounds like a gamble - that people won't switch to Linux rather than go for Vista. I wonder if it's wise.

New Fallout 3 screens
If it's something like the slide shows at the end of NWN2 or Arcanum, it wouldn't be hard for the possible combinations to total over 200. Is that the kind of thing they mean?

Biggest nonsense you've ever seen from a game.
I know the one you mean. That took me ages, well over twenty retries, and there was a lot of luck involved in the one time I managed to scrape through it.

KotoR 3: Ideas, Suggestions, Discussion, Part 24
Yes, sadly this was my initial reaction too. I believe Battlefront is one of those shooty-killy games so popular with the youngsters today.

What are you playing now?
Thanks.

With the transitioning-with-familiars/animals fixed, I'm revisiting NWN2 as a druid. He's neutral good, and I'm having trouble keeping him from going too lawful to stay a druid.

Oh, I thought of a really bad one - the levelling system in Oblivion. I never even tried it in the original form, but even improved with mods it was still liable to appalling results. I once left it until level 10 to go to the city to save Martin, and although I just managed to squeeze past the level-appropriate monster hoards, my 'companion' guards were felled in about two hits.

Inability to save and reload wherever I wanted seriously reduced my enjoyment of Fable. Not quite in the same league, but I never really liked the control system in Grim Fandango.

Hi Dukefrukem, and welcome to the forums. sharkz, do you have any information about that? (the SEGA gamers day, I mean) I know so little about SEGA...

US Presidential Elections
Foreign policy is not the same as image, it's true, but Obama would have a tremendous positive effect on the US' image abroad, not just because he's black, but because he's said he would talk to people - even those the US doesn't approve of.

Software Compatibility List for Windows Vista
Thread pruned. I think this list is a very useful resource - thanks DN, you're going some way to reassuring me about Windows Vista. I think we all understand that software can fail to run for complex reasons, that sometimes a new OS can be a contributory factor in that failure on some systems while having a different effect on others.
