The second Neverwinter Nights 2 expansion pack coming?
SteveThaiBinh replied to funcroc's topic in Computer and Console
For the moment, I believe the NWN2 'Gold' edition in stores only includes a key to download Mysteries of Westgate when it comes out. The forum is here if you want the latest correct info. I imagine that at some point there'll be a version which includes it on the disk, especially if there is a new full expansion pack (here's hoping ). -
The second Neverwinter Nights 2 expansion pack coming?
SteveThaiBinh replied to funcroc's topic in Computer and Console
Hopefully they're busy on the patch, so that Mysteries of Westgate is released as soon as possible. -
Petrol in Saudi Arabia is 12 US cents per litre. That's about 55 cents for a gallon, I think?

Steak might be impressed, but the okra would just laugh and say you were overcompensating.

Nar Shaddaa does seem to be more prone to random glitches than the other planets. I'd recommend starting again and keeping regular saves as you make progress through the planet, so that you can reload if needed. Chances are, next time through you'll be bug-free, though.

The original topic seems to have been left far behind, so I think it's best to lock this.

Major bug on Vista, help please
SteveThaiBinh replied to athel's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
As has been mentioned, there are a few solutions for this, the best probably being to choose a different dialogue option in that conversation. I don't think the thread has anywhere on-topic left to go, so I'm locking it. -
Is that actually going to settle anything at all? I can't even summon up the interest to google this anymore. When is the convention anyway?

I have a steam cooker and I love it. It's the only way to cook vegetables and rice properly.

The Daily Telegraph has reviewed GTA4 (who knew they reviewed video games?), and they seemed to like it.

BREAKING NEWS: NEW 'BLOOD ON THE SAND' TRAILER
SteveThaiBinh replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
Out of shear morbid curiosity, y... no, not even for that. I mean, a diamond-encrusted skull? -
He has a surviving daughter or two, I believe, so the line's not quite gone. Neither his capture nor his execution had the desired effect on Iraq, but perhaps it made little difference either way. What would have happened if he'd been sentenced to life imprisonment instead? Perhaps after a year or two in solitary he could have been persuaded to call on the Sunni insurgents/terrorists to lay down their arms in exchange for satellite television. Would he have done so? Would it have made a difference if he had? Aside from the moral implications (which to me are central) I can't help thinking that thr execution closed off options that might have been useful later down the line.

This man is not a very prominent or well-known figure, at least not outside London certainly. The BNP is always there in the background - they have some local councillors here and there but aren't even close to taking a parliamentary seat. We often hear about them at local election time, but perhaps not so much this time as there's a lot going on with the major parties at the moment. I confess to being a little surprised that a BNP candidate would say such a thing - I'd thought they were slicker at the presentation thing than that.

I heard a very interesting podcast a while back in which reviewers lamented the fact that gamers are increasingly turning towards the likes of Metacritic, and only looking at scores and not reading the reviews. Getting a 10 rather than a 9 is quite important for a publisher if its wider goal is to keep the metacritic score up in the 90s. It's the only reason I can think of off the top of my head for risking exposing themselves to such ridicule.

Happy Birthday. I'm humming the Happy Birthday song as I type this, though I realise the full effect of that may not register across the internet.

I'd be interested in finding out how people are running KotOR2 now. In particular, if people are making tweaks and alterations to their setups to make KotOR2 work better (or at all), that'd be really interesting for others to read. I last ran KotOR2 with XP and an nVidia GeForce 6600GT, and the only issue I had was the well-documented lag on Dantooine, easily fixed by changing the kotor2.ini file to Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1. I haven't played in the last year and a half, though.

I was pretty glum too, as I recall. Playing through it again this time I didn't mind so much, because I knew it was coming and because I believe Dreamfall Chapters will indeed be made. Here's hoping.

I want a continuation damnit! Me too, that was a fun game even though there wasn't a challenge in it, the story was fun enough for me I heard rumors that they might do episodes like Half Life, that would royally suck i think. Episodes have so far annoyed me. The wait just isn't worth it. That's what I'd heard as well. Haven't heard anything in quite some time though. Dreamfall is an incredibly annoying game with a fantastic story. I remembered as I was playing with it why I hadn't immediately replayed it after first finishing it (something I usually do for games I really like). The action sequences were long and boring by my standards (the underground troll/statue part drove me nuts), but the proper adventure game bits (puzzles and conversations) were excellent. Yes, Dreamfall: Chapters is supposed to be in development, but Ragnar Tornquist seems to be busy working on an MMO called The Secret World. In an interesting post on his blog, he mentioned that "success (of Dreamfall) in the LIVE Marketplace would affect the future of the series in a positive way." - this suggests to me that production of Chapters is in doubt, but it's hardly conclusive. Anyway, so I finished Dreamfall. (spoilers: ) I think I'll play Baldur's Gate now.

There's an idea. Do you think I could play NWN2 on my interactive whiteboard?

I wonder about possibly going for a 64-bit version of Vista and extra memory? I don't know if they still swap your discs if you get the 32-bit one pre-installed. I don't think there are many games now that use more than 2GB of memory, but their day will come. Throughout my PC gaming life I've always tried to get generous amounts of RAM and save money in other areas, and I've never regretted it. My experience of using Vista rather than XP has been mostly fine, no big difference in how games perform. The only major annoyance so far has been that my Oblivion DLC won't work with Vista and Bethesda doesn't seem to have any plans to update it, but I blame Bethesda rather than Microsoft. -

I really liked 200. I thought the Farscape parody was excellent. -
Congrats, hope it works out well for you. It's 40C outside. I stayed inside today.
