  1. This seems to be an issue with a number of people's accounts, and has only started fairly recently. We're trying to gather as much information as we can to hand over to admin. If you're experiencing this problem, could you check and see if there's anything you can add to your report above, such as which browser you're using, when the problem started, how often it happens, and anything else that might be relevant?
  2. I saw Stardust, and really liked it. I thought Claire Danes was perfect for the role, equal parts stunning and other-wordly. Has anyone read the book? I was thinking I might look out for a copy.
  3. So the rather silly Irish entry was defeated in the first semi-final. I thought it was funny for about five seconds, but I'm glad I won't have to see it again in the final. Unfortunately, the is still in. Second semi tonight.
  4. My students all supported Manchester United, and when I asked them why (it's usually much more mixed than that), they said it's because there's an Israeli player in the Chelsea team. It's not really something you can comment on openly here, so I tried to look suitably disgusted with their attitude, made a point of saying that I was supporting Chelsea, and then moved on with the lesson.
  5. It's only embryos. Why not? People worried that test-tube babies would be a Pandora's Box, but it hasn't happened. I think proceeding with caution is the right thing to do, and this research will be heavily monitored and regulated by the government.
  6. The police should face harsher sentences than ordinary people when they commit crimes. I'd say take the punishment an ordinary person would have got for the same crime and double it. This sentence looks a little steep for someone who didn't actually commit murder, though.
  7. That's good news, and sorts out my last remaining issue with the DRM.
  8. So that's about an hour from now, is that right?
  9. Yeah, it's almost Saturday where I am. I want to know!
  10. Thread pruned. And I seriously doubt either Bastila or Mira would share.
  11. Humans are indeed a deadly virus and the Earth must be cured. I congratulate these people on their purchase of the Matrix DVD box set, though I can't imagine where they got the money from. How typical. Once again, we misanthropic anti-social Malthusian misfits are excluded. Thank Darwin for the internet, our place of solace. Not really.
  12. If there was supposed to be something else here, could the original poster please create a new thread. This one seems to have no topic for discussion, so I'm closing it.
  13. Mass Effect for PC. Silly Mirosoft - I might have bought an XBox360 for this game, but if they're going to release it on PC, I'm not complaining. The copy protection is fine for me - the NWN premium modules were a pain because you have to be connected to the internet at the moment of launching each time, and I live in a place where the net goes down for an hour or two fairly frequently. The three activations limit is still annoying, though. I would also say I'm interested in the Penny Arcade game, if it does indeed turn out to be a point and click adventure or something near to one.
  14. More precisely, it means that so far testers have found 28 bugs that have not yet been fixed. They will almost certainly find further bugs before public release.
  15. Do you have the original Kotor1 game? Does that install okay or produce the same problem?
  16. I imagine Nick_I_am has probably got all the help he wanted and more, so I think I'll close this very slightly off-topic thread now.
  17. The One Laptop Per Child laptop has a special screen that makes it much better than ordinary laptops in sun and rain, or so I hear.
  18. Memory can deceive of course, but I believe that the diplomacy/persuade check when you (very mild spoilers) is something I've failed, then reloaded and succeed with.
  19. Continued from here.
  20. Closed for length.
  21. I must get round to playing the Fallouts, but after last time, I really want a bug-free experience. Workarounds are fine if you're replaying, but not for the first game you play. I'm enjoying BG2 and the Aerie romance, which (touchwood) appears to be working fine even with Haer'Dalis around.
  22. Locked for length. Next thread: here.
  23. Previous thread: here. So, you know, hockey and that...
  24. Obsidian's very own Pete Hines, eh? Welcome. So just how many endings does the Aliens RPG have? To the nearest thousand will suffice.
